Patient-specific guides for the Latarjet procedure, as well as surgical systems and methods of performing the Latarjet procedure to treat glenohumeral instability using such patient-specific guides are disclosed. A patient-specific coracoid guide and a patient-specific glenoid guide may be configured based on preoperatively generated three-dimensional models of the patient's shoulder anatomy. Guides may be configured for coracoid graft preparation and glenoid decortication. The coracoid graft may be placed in the desired position based on three-dimensional (3D) preoperative planning.

SURGICAL REAMER AND METHOD OF REAMING A BONE
20230157706 · 2023-05-25 ·

A surgical reamer and a method of reaming a bone using a surgical reamer. The reamer has a distal part comprising a proximal end coupleable to a surgical rotational driver; a distal end; a rotational axis extending between the proximal end and the distal end; and a cutting surface located between the proximal end and the distal end. The reamer also has a proximal part comprising a proximal end coupleable to a surgical rotational driver; a distal end; a rotational axis extending between the proximal end and the distal end; a cutting surface located between the proximal end and the distal end; and a cavity extending proximally from the distal end for receiving the proximal end of the distal part. An inner surface of the cavity is shaped to allow the proximal part to be tilted with respect to the distal part during rotation of the proximal part.

Hip Broach And Implant Designed Using Morphological Data

In one embodiment, the present disclosure relates to a broach for use in a mammalian femur. The broach includes a body with a proximal portion and a distal portion extending from the proximal portion. The proximal portion has a first surface with a plurality of first teeth and the distal portion has a second surface with a plurality of second teeth. Each of the second teeth is different from each of the first teeth. And, each of the plurality of second teeth include pointed protrusions extending outward from the second surface.

Rasp handle adapter

Disclosed herein are rasp adapters, rasp systems, and method of use thereof. The rasp adapter can include a body and a retention element. The body can define a body cavity, a handle opening, and a trunnion bore. The retention element can be located within the body cavity and can include a knuckle and a heal. The knuckle can be located proximate to and movable into and out of the trunnion bore. The heal can be located proximate the handle opening. Movement of the retention element due to a force applied to the heal can cause movement of the retention element and movement of the knuckle into the trunnion bore.

A computer-aided method of pre-operative planning of hip joint replacement is provided for establishing, from patient-specific images, femoral and acetabular implant sizes and cut planes. Image slices of a patient's hip joint are obtained. Coordinate positions of selected femur and acetabulum points (e.g., femoral head center, major trochanter midpoint, femoral shaft midpoint, acetabular rim high points and lowest point) in the images are marked, which allows the planning tool to perform a best fit analysis to offer a range of suitable implant and surgical cut plane parameters for selection by a surgeon. Patient-specific surgical jigs can then be constructed for the proximal femur and acetabulum of the hip joint corresponding to a surgeon selection between standard, mini, short-stem, and resurfacing hip replacement components and in accord with the surgeon-selected parameters.

SURGICAL IMPACTOR NAVIGATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS

This disclosure relates to systems for assisting surgeons in implanting joint replacement implant components. One aspect provides a system for assisting a surgeon in implanting a joint replacement implant component during a surgery of replacing a joint. The system comprises: an instrument for medullary canal preparation; a video camera to capture image data of the instrument; a computer system to: store a surgical plan; determine a pose of the instrument relative to the bone or the joint based on the image data from the video camera; assess the pose of the instrument against the surgical plan; and provide an indication to the surgeon of a clinical consequence of the pose in relation to the surgical plan.

Apparatus for use in surgery

The invention provides a targeting device suitable for use in removing a femoral implant from the surrounding tissue, wherein the device comprises: (A) an anterior guide member (1), (B) a posterior guide member (4), (C) an engagement member (7), (D) a first pair of parallel connector rails (509, 510), and (E) an adjustment system (13). When the anterior guide member and the posterior guide member are connected by the first pair of connector rails, via the engagement member, the angled channels of the anterior guide member and the posterior guide member converge in the direction of a distal end, with the convergence angle of the angled channels being in the range of from 2 to 6 degrees, such as from 2 to 5 degrees.

ORTHOPEDIC INSTRUMENT ADAPTERS

In general, orthopedic instrument adapters and methods of using orthopedic instrument adapters are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, an adapter is configured to releasably attach to an end effector configured to impact bone. The end effector can be a broach, chisel, or other surgical implement. The adapter includes a spring-loaded hook that is configured to releasably seat in a cut-out formed in the end effector. The adapter is also configured to releasably attach to a surgical impacting tool, such as an orthopedic impactor, configured to drive impacting of the end effector relative to bone.

ARTICULATING SURGICAL TOOL

A surgical instrument for releasable connection to a surgical tool having two or more sections that are able to articulate 360 degrees in differing increments and directions. The articulation of the sections allows for the distal end to be spatially offset from the proximal, yet maintain parallel longitudinal axes. The surgical instrument includes a force disc at the proximal end upon which a surgeon can exert a linear force which is transmitted to the distal end having a second tool such as a broach firmly attached thereto.
