METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PREPARING AND IMPLANTATION OF MEDICAL IMPLANTS
An apparatus for implanting a medical implant into bone includes: an implant having at least one predetermined natural frequency; and an instrument, comprising: a housing; a coupler carried by the housing and configured to be mechanically connected to a medical implant; and a forcing mechanism carried by the housing and operable to apply a cyclic excitation force at the predetermined natural frequency.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR MONITORING AND PREDICTING IMPACTION STATE OF AN ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL IMPLEMENT DURING AN ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL PROCEDURE
Technologies for monitoring impaction and predicting impaction state during an orthopaedic surgical procedure include one or more impaction sensors that generate sensor data. The surgical procedure includes impaction of an orthopaedic implement such as a surgical instrument or a prosthetic component. An impaction analyzer generates an impaction state prediction with a machine learning model based on the sensor data. The impaction state prediction may include an unseated state, a seated state, and a fracture state. An impaction state user interface outputs the impaction state prediction. A model trainer may train the machine learning model with labeled sensor data.
Method for placing implant using robotic system
A method for placing an implant on a patient in a robotic surgical procedure using a robotic system. During the robotic surgical procedure, a navigation system tracks the patient. The navigation system also provides information to the robotic system to guide movement of a cutting tool to remove material from the patient such that a cut surface is created to receive the implant. The implant is then robotically placed on the cut surface.
Removable handle provided with a device for detachable assembly
The present invention relates to a removable handle (1) for a surgical rasp (2) or similar, the handle (1) and the rasp (2) cooperating, at right angles to their joining ends, via contact faces which at least intersect the mean direction of transmission of the forces between the handle (1) and the rasp (2), said handle (1) having a detachable assembly device (5) and being characterized in that the detachable assembly device (5) has, on the one hand, a means of assembly (6) by engagement in a direction generally perpendicular to said contact faces and using at least two complementary elements, namely a hollow tenon (7) and a mortice (8), and, on the other hand, a locking means (9) for locking said complementary elements (7, 8) in their engaged position, that is to say when the removable handle (1) and the rasp (2) are joined together, with their contact faces applied against each other.
JOINT REVISION SURGERY APPARATUS
The present application is directed a Joint Revision Surgery Apparatus which includes a surgical knife blade guide block which has a plurality of rearward blade guide slots, a central cavity and a plurality of guide slots having a two-way adjustable L-shaped guide plate. The surgical knife blade guide block central cavity houses a stem trunnion securing member and is positioned over the trunnion end of the existing prosthesis to be removed and secured to the prothesis. The guide blade block is secured to the trunnion of the prosthesis to be extracted using a stem trunnion securing member housed within the guide block. Straight, curved and compound curved knife blades are guided by the blade guide slots to cut the prothesis free. The Joint Revision Surgery Apparatus facilitates rapid, efficient and complete removal of an existing prosthesis during joint revision surgery, and significantly increases positive medical outcomes for joint revision procedures.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTRAMEDULLARY NAIL IMPLANTATION
Intramedullary nails, systems, and methods. The intramedullary nail may include a generally elongate body extending from a first, distal end to a second, proximal end. The distal end may include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the distal end intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the distal end of the nail. The proximal end may also include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the proximal end of the intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the proximal end of the nail. In some embodiments, the proximal end may further include a cross-locking feature, which includes a second bone anchor that interlocks with a first bone anchor, for example, for enhanced bone purchase and bony fixation.
Bone rasp apparatus and method
In some examples, an apparatus includes a working surface including at least one material removal member. The material removal member is configured to remove at least some of a first portion of a first material. A protrusion extends outwardly from the working surface. The protrusion extends beyond the at least one material removal member by a first distance. The protrusion is configured to inhibit the at least one material removal member from removing at least a second portion of the first material. The second portion has a thickness substantially equal to the first distance.
IMPLANT REMOVAL TOOL
An implant removal tool (1) used to remove a femoral implant (17) from a femur bone (18) by providing a substantially U-shaped body (2) having a substantially rectangular-shaped opening (9) located thereon that allows the substantially U-shaped body to be placed over a neck (21) of a femoral implant so a sharpened front edge (5) of the substantially U-shaped body makes direct contact with an inner surface of the stein of the femoral implant. The U-shaped body may have front side edges (26, 27) that extend beyond a front edge (5) to allow the front side edges to cut anterior and posterior surface of the implant.
Patient Selectable Joint Arthroplasty Devices and Surgical Tools
Disclosed herein are methods, compositions and tools for repairing articular surfaces repair materials and for repairing an articular surface. The articular surface repairs are customizable or highly selectable by patient and geared toward providing optimal fit and function. The surgical tools are designed to be customizable or highly selectable by patient to increase the speed, accuracy and simplicity of performing total or partial arthroplasty.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREPARING BONE VOIDS TO RECEIVE A PROSTHESIS
A method of implant a knee prosthesis includes forming a bone void at an end of a bone, implanting a void filler in the bone void, and implanting a knee prosthesis onto the end of the bone so that a stem of the knee prosthesis is received by the void filler.
