A switch (10), particularly a disconnecting switch (10) for high direct currents and alternating currents at high voltages, can be transferred from a conducting position into a disconnecting position. The switch (10) is includes a housing (12), a first contact (28), a second contact (30), a switching piston (24) guided by the housing (12) with a connecting element (22), which establishes an electrical connection in the connecting position between the first contact (28) and the second contact (30). The housing (12) defines an interior space surrounding the connecting element (22). The connecting element (22) extends at least partially in the interior space (18) and is filled with an insulating medium (20), and the switch is designed such that a mechanical movement of the switching piston (24) transfers the switch (10) from the connecting position into the disconnecting position. The switching piston (24) mechanically impacts the connecting element (22) such that the electrical connection between the first contact (28) and the second contact (30) is interrupted in at least one disconnecting location.

FUSE ELEMENT, FUSE DEVICE, AND HEAT-GENERATOR-INTEGRATED FUSE DEVICE
20170236673 · 2017-08-17 · ·

A fuse device and a fuse element having excellent rapid blowout properties and excellent insulation properties after blowout even in a size-reduced fuse device are provided. A fuse element constitutes a current path of a fuse device and blows out due to self-generated heat when a rating-exceeding current flows, a length W in a width direction perpendicular to a conduction direction being greater than a total length L in the conduction direction in the fuse element. In particular, the fuse element includes a low melting point metal layer and a high melting point metal layer, the low melting point metal layer eroding the high melting point metal layer when current flows to cause blowout.

PROTECTION DEVICE WITH LASER TRIMMED FUSIBLE ELEMENT

Provided are trimmed parallel element protection devices. Some protection devices may include a substrate and first and second terminals at opposite ends of the substrate. The protection devices may further include a first fusible and a second fusible element extending between the first and second terminals, wherein at least one of the first and second fusible elements includes a trimmed portion.

High voltage cartridge fuse assembly

An electrical cartridge fuse including a cylindrical housing, first and second terminals coupled to the cylindrical housing, and a fuse element inside the housing and interconnected between the first and second terminals. The fuse element has a main body having at least five openings formed therein in a single line along a longitudinal axis of the fuse element, a guide element formed on a first end of the main body, and a hanger element formed on the second end of the main body. The cartridge fuse has a package size of about 6×32 mm and a voltage rating of at least 500 VADC, a 20 kA IR Rating, a current rating of 12 A to 30 A and a defined opening time at 100% rated current.
