A film-type cable according to the present disclosure includes an insulating film and a plurality of conducting wires covered by the insulating film and extending in a first direction, each of the plurality of conducting wires separate by a predetermined distance, wherein each of the plurality of conducting wires includes: a fuse pattern section configured to be broken when a current exceeding a rated current flows through the fuse pattern section; and a normal section configured not to be broken when a current exceeding the rated current flows through the normal section, wherein the fuse pattern section may be thinner than the normal section.

A vehicle includes an electrified propulsion system powered by a traction battery. The vehicle also includes an electrical distribution system (EDS) to pass current to and from the traction battery. The EDS is provided with at least one flexible electrical distribution component (FEDC) including a plurality of individual conductor paths. At least one of the individual conductor paths defines a typical width and a reduced width narrowed portion sized to operate as a fuse and thereby break an electrical circuit of the at least one individual conductor path in response to heat generated from conducting an electrical current greater than a predetermined threshold.

In some embodiments, a protection device may include a fuse assembly having a fusible link extending between a first lead end and a second lead end, and a first lead extending from the first lead end and a second lead extending from the second lead end. The protection device may further include a body including a first section coupleable with a second section, wherein the first and second sections define a central cavity housing the fusible link. The first section may include an interior face operable to engage an opposite interior face of the second section, an engagement member extending away from the interior face towards the second section, and an engagement channel adjacent the engagement member, the engagement channel operable to receive a corresponding engagement member of the second section.

In some embodiments, a protection device may include a fuse assembly having a fusible link extending between a first lead end and a second lead end, and a first lead extending from the first lead end and a second lead extending from the second lead end. The fuse has a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction, and includes: a bushing, having a through-hole cavity extending in the longitudinal direction and for accommodating quartz sand and two end surfaces in the longitudinal direction; a fuse body, accommodated in the through-hole cavity; and two contact blades, positioned at two ends of the through-hole cavity and conductively joined to the fuse body. At least one of the contact blades comprises a first section coming into direct sealing contact with one of the end surfaces of the bushing by covering the through-hole cavity, and an overhanging arm section extending from the first section. The overhanging arm section includes a second section extending, in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, out of the bushing.
Triggered fuse for low-voltage applications
The invention relates to a triggered fuse for low-voltage applications for protecting devices that can be connected to a power supply system, in particular surge protection devices, consisting of at least one fusible conductor which is located between two contacts and is arranged in a housing, and also consisting of a trigger device for controlled disconnection of the fusible conductor in the event of malfunctions or overload states of the respective connected device, wherein an arc quenching medium is introduced into the housing. The at least one fusible conductor has a plurality of conventional electrical bottlenecks, which are designed for the rated load of the respective fuse. At least one further additional geometric bottleneck is provided, which is disconnectable by rupturing depending on the trigger unit when applied by tension.
TRIGGERED FUSE FOR LOW-VOLTAGE APPLICATIONS
The invention relates to a triggered fuse for low-voltage applications for protecting devices that can be connected to a power supply system, in particular surge protection devices, consisting of at least one fusible conductor which is located between two contacts and is arranged in a housing, and also consisting of a trigger device for controlled disconnection of the fusible conductor in the event of malfunctions or overload states of the respective connected device, wherein an arc quenching medium is introduced into the housing. By way of example, an arc quenching medium-free region is formed in the housing such that the at least one fusible conductor is exposed, and a mechanical disconnection element can be introduced into the arc quenching medium-free region via an access point in the housing in order to mechanically destroy the at least one fusible conductor depending on the trigger device, and independently of its melting integral.

An active/passive fuse module including a base, a busbar disposed on the base and including a fuse element extending over a cavity in a top surface of the base and having a plurality of weak points formed therein, a pyrotechnic interrupter (PI) disposed atop the base and including a piston disposed within a shaft above the fuse element, the piston having an edge with a geometry that corresponds to a geometry of a pattern defined by the weak points in the fuse element, a first pyrotechnic ignitor coupled to a controller and configured to detonate and force the piston through the fuse element upon receiving an initiation signal from the controller, and a second pyrotechnic ignitor coupled to the busbar by a pair of leads and configured to detonate and force the piston through the fuse element upon an increase in voltage across the leads.
