DENTAL OPERATION-GUIDING STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
20190314127 · 2019-10-17 ·

A dental operation-guiding structure includes a bite plate, a marking plate, and at least one connection frame connecting the bite plate and the marking plate. The bite plate is occluded by lower and upper teeth of a human body. The marking plate includes a plate body and at least one window penetrating the plate body. The plate body is adjacent to a tissue surface, and the windows defines a position to be operated. By occluding the dental operation-guiding structure, practical positions, patterns and ranges for the operation can be easily defined. The method for producing the dental operation-guiding structure overlaps a 3D bone image of a target object onto a 3D teeth-mold image thereof to obtain a reconstructed 3D image including clear contours of bones and soft tissues, bases on the reconstructed 3D image to design the dental operation-guiding structure, and finally produces the dental operation-guiding structure by 3D printing.

An intraoral 3D scanner includes a probe light source configured to generate a probe light such that the probe light is transmitted towards the dental situation; a camera including an array of sensor elements, the camera being arranged such that the probe light from the dental situation is transmitted to the array of sensor elements, wherein the camera is configured to create images of the dental situation from which a point cloud is generated, and a guiding system configured to guide relative movement of the intraoral 3D scanner towards the dental situation, wherein the camera is part of the guiding system, the camera is configured to record images from which a relative position of the intraoral 3D scanner and the dental situation is determined, such that based on the relative position, the guiding system is configured to provide a positioning signal in the form of a positioning color code.

Bone bed drilling template

A method and device for ensuring better placement of an implant, such as an implant that is affixed via bone bed drilling to a recipient's skull. In particular, the technology comprises an apparatus and method of deploying the same that can lead to an improved goodness of fit of the implant. The apparatus and process of the present disclosure are particularly applicable to affixing auditory prostheses such as cochlear implants. The implant is provided with a template that has the same dimensions as the implant that is to be affixed. This template has a dye-impregnated material on its distal surface that is used during bone bed drilling to identify bony spots that have to be drilled away to get a flat surface and a better alignment of the implant with the bone bed. The template may also be provided in kit form.

Method for utilizing a mandibular c-clamp to identify a fixed point of reference on a human jaw
10307233 · 2019-06-04 · ·

A method for precisely identifying a fixed point of reference on a human jaw including providing a mandibular c-clamp, which has a shaft, an upper prong fixedly connected to the shaft, a lower prong movable along the shaft, and a wedge configured to selectively secure the lower prong to the shaft. The upper prong of the mandibular c-clamp is inserted into a patient's mouth. The lower prong of the mandibular c-clamp is then moved along the shaft to close on a patient's chin compressing patient's soft tissue, and a position of the lower prong is secured on the shaft using the wedge so that the lower prong is no longer movable along the shaft. A sensor is then secured to a designated area of the mandibular c-clamp so as to provide a reference point.

DENTAL DRILLING DEVICE

A dental drilling device includes a cutting unit and a direction control unit. The cutting unit has a tubular body providing a first end having a cutting end for harvesting a piece of bone and/or bone powder, and the second end coupled to a vertical stopper of the direction control unit. The tubular body has at least one opening for removing a piece of bone and/or bone powder. The direction control unit has a vertical stopper and a ring for establishing or limiting vertical and horizontal dimensions or borders of an implant site. A process or procedure for preparing an implant site by using the device includes affixing a ring to a surgical template for preparing a ring-affixed template suitable for forming an implant site; aligning a cutting end of dental drilling device within the ring; and cutting bone for forming or producing the implant site.

Method for treating a patient with a tooth vacancy

An accurate and precise surgical guide for dental procedures, especially a procedure involving a subject with few or no teeth as well as methods for making and use of such guides.

A method for providing a guided relative movement of a first object and a second object includes obtaining the first object; obtaining the second object and a 3D model of the second object, and deriving from the 3D model a first preferred relative arrangement between the first and second objects; obtaining a pre-process plan describing a preferred path for the relative movement of the first and second objects towards the first preferred relative arrangement; performing a movement procedure that includes 3D scanning at least a region of said second object using the 3D scanner and determining a present relative arrangement of the first and second objects from a result of the 3D scanning; calculating information for correcting in real-time for deviation in the relative movement from the preferred path; and providing a relative movement of the first and second objects towards the first preferred relative arrangement.

Modular template for drilling holes and method of making same

A template for use with an instrument to drill a hole in a surface at a desired location. The template includes a body which has a negative impression of the surface, and a guideway having a first end positioned to open onto the desired location when the body is placed in conforming contact with the surface and a second end positioned on an exterior surface of the body. The second end of the guideway is connected to the first end by a passage. The guideway is preferably positioned in a portion of the template which is removable from the remainder thereof. The template also includes a stop for limiting the depth of penetration of the drill bit into the hole, a first fastener for attaching the stop to the body and a second fastener for fastening the removable portion of the template to the remainder of the template.
