BONE STAPLE DRILL GUIDE WITH DRILL CARTRIDGE AND COMPRESSION DEVICE
The invention is a drill guide assembly for a superelastic bone staple having a bridge member and opposing open legs and the drill guide assembly has a pair of legs that can be moved toward or away from each other and accepts a drill guide cartridge for the holes for the staple legs.
TRIANGULAR FIBROCARTILAGE COMPLEX RECONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES
This disclosure is directed to methods for reconstructing an unstable triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). Exemplary methods include preparing, delivering, and fixating a graft within a distal radioulnar joint in a manner that restores the functionality to the TFCC, thereby improving the joint kinematics of the radioulnar joint.
Fixation assembly and method of use
A fixation assembly for bone fixation and a method for joining bones or bone fragments of a single bone and translating uniform compression to the bones. The fixation assembly comprises a post member coupled to a screw member. The post member comprises a head portion connected to an anchoring portion, wherein the head portion is offset from the anchoring portion by a first angle. The head portion may comprise a curved body annularly extending from a first end to a second end, wherein the first end is separated from the second end by a slot, and wherein the curved body defines a tapered annular bore therein. The anchoring portion comprises a first leg extending from the first end of the curved body and a second leg extending from the second end of the curved body. The screw member comprises a tapered bulbous portion connected to a threaded elongated portion. The screw member is coupled to the post member by advancing the elongated portion of the screw member through the tapered bore of the post member until the tapered bulbous portion of the screw member abuts the tapered bore of the post member thereby creating an interference fit. The first angle of the post member determines the angle of fixation of the post member with respect to the screw member.
Methods, instruments and implants for scapho-lunate reconstruction
A method for bone reconstruction includes aligning a first hone with a second bone using a plurality of guidewires to correct rotational deformity of the first and second bones. A first module of a targeting apparatus is positioned in proximity to the first bone. A tip of the first module is engaged with the first bone. A second module of the targeting apparatus is positioned in proximity to the second bone. A tip of the second module is engaged with the second bone. Alignment of the first module and the second module is secured. The alignment is verified using a guidewire, the guidewire wire is inserted through a passage extending through the second module. A length between the first bone and the second bone is determined using a depth gauge. An implant is selected based on the determined length for delivery along the passage extending through the second module.
INTRAOSSEOUS INTRAMEDULLARY FIXATION ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF USE
An intramedullary assembly for intraosseous bone fusion includes a lag screw member and a tapered screw member. The lag screw member includes a first elongated body, where the first elongated body includes a first threaded portion at a first end and a bulbous portion at a second end. The tapered screw member is coupled to the lag screw member, and the tapered screw member includes a second elongated body, where the second elongated body includes a second threaded portion at a third end, and an opening at a fourth end.
Osteotomy plate, plate driver and method for their use
An orthopedic plate is specifically configured for use in osteotomies, in which part of the plate extends into a portion of a first bone segment and part is external to the cortical surface of an adjacent bone segment to fix the segments to allow them to fuse. The plate has a first end and a second end where the end which is inserted into the bone has a chamfer and a through hole having a hole axis optionally at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the plate, and which can receive a screw, peg or pin. The second end of the plate includes a locking screw hole and optionally including a compression slot extending in a direction toward a screw hole in the opposing end. Optionally, the non-locking hole has a shroud that forms an arc or portion of a cylinder over the hole. A plate driver having a recess that holds the plate is used to insert the plate into the bone.
UPPER EXTREMITY FUSION DEVICES AND METHODS
A fusion implant and fusion members for fusing target bones of an upper extremity. The fusion implant including internally threaded apertures of a first thread lead, and the fusion members including threading of the first thread lead and threading of a second thread lead that is less than the first thread lead. The fusion implant and a targeting instrument being configured to couple to one another in a predefined orientation. The predetermined orientation resulting in alignment of aspects of the fusion implant with aspects of the targeting instrument. A guide clamp for facilitating forming of an implant cavity in adjacent bones for implantation of the fusion implant therein. A surgical method for facilitating fusion of adjacent target bones utilizing a fusion implant, fusion members, a targeting instrument and a guide clamp to reduce space between the adjacent bones such that they at least abut one another.
