An aspiration system includes an aspiration catheter including a tubular aspiration member having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen, and configured to at least partially extend out of the lumen of an elongate tubular member and into the vasculature of a subject, an elongate support member coupled to the tubular aspiration member and extending between the proximal end of the aspiration catheter and the proximal end of the tubular aspiration member, a high pressure injection lumen extending within the elongate support member and having a distal end including a curved portion configured to change a direction of fluid flow by at least about 90°, at least one orifice located at the distal end of the high pressure injection lumen configured to allow liquid to be released into the lumen of the tubular aspiration member, and an annular seal carried by the tubular aspiration member and configured to create a liquid seal against the inner surface of the elongate tubular member.

Percutaneous vascular surgical system and method

The present invention provides a percutaneous vascular surgical system for performing endovascular/neurovascular interventions, the system incorporating a sheath having a proximal end and a distal end and defining a main lumen extending between the proximal and distal ends, an auxiliary lumen also defined by the sheath, a reversibly inflatable balloon located about the sheath adjacent the distal end and in fluid communication with the auxiliary lumen, a syringe selectively connectable to the main lumen to create suction through the main lumen, and a vessel closure device for the closure of the arteriotomy, the surgical system and method of the invention having utility in a large number of percutaneous vascular procedures such as carotid artery stenosis or neurovascular interventions and enabling four procedures to be performed with one system, being percutaneous access, emboli removal, flow reversal and arteriotomy closure.

Ophthalmic artery therapy under reverse flow

A method may include positioning a first device within an internal carotid artery of a subject and impeding antegrade blood flow in the internal carotid artery. Additionally, the method may include delivering a pharmaceutical agent through an external carotid artery for passage into an ophthalmic artery of the subject.

Electrophysiology mapping and visualization system

Electrophysiology mapping and visualization systems are described herein where such devices may be used to visualize tissue regions as well as map the electrophysiological activity of the tissue. Such a system may include a deployment catheter and an attached hood deployable into an expanded configuration. In use, the imaging hood is placed against or adjacent to a region of tissue to be imaged in a body lumen that is normally filled with an opaque bodily fluid such as blood. A translucent or transparent fluid, such as saline, can be pumped into the imaging hood until the fluid displaces any blood, thereby leaving a clear region of tissue to be imaged via an imaging element in the deployment catheter. A position of the catheter and/or hood may be tracked and the hood may also be used to detect the electrophysiological activity of the visualized tissue for mapping.

Device forming an infusion catheter for treating at least one partial or total obstruction in a passage, such as a body passage

The invention relates to an infusion catheter device. This catheter device 10 has an elongate, substantially tubular shape defining a longitudinal axis, a distal end (D) and a proximal end (P), configured to be introduced into a conduit (50) having an inner wall (54) and an outer wall (56) and comprising at least one partial or total obstruction (60) or occlusion to be treated, said device comprising, at its distal end (D), one or more infusion orifices (16, 18, 20, 22) for an infusion liquid (LI), and, upstream from the one or more infusion orifices, at the proximal side (P) of the infusion catheter (10), at least one obturating element (70) for temporary obturating, configured to treat said obstruction (60) or occlusion and to perform the infusion of the infusion liquid (LI) downstream from the obturating element (70) and in the obturating position. This device is suitable in particular for cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology.

Stool Management System

A stool management system having a tubular body including a first end section disposable in a rectum of a patient and a second end section including a first connector which detachably mates with a second connector coupled to a collection container which receives waste matter passed through the tubular body from the bowel of the patient.

A system and method for managing an occlusion, such as a blood clot, within a lumen or passageway of a patient. More particularly, a system and method for rapidly restoring blood flow through an occlusion including a self-expanding, tubular member through which blood may flow when in an expanded state. The tubular member has a structure configured to engage the occlusive material, thereby allowing for extraction of at least a portion of the occlusive material. The system may further employ a material extraction member that is deployed distally of the tubular member.
