Systems and Methods for Traversing a Site of Obstruction
Systems for providing access across a site of obstruction and methods for manufacturing and using such systems are provided. Such systems may include a cannula having a lumen, an everting member coupled to the cannula, and a push assembly having a pathway. The push assembly may be slidably disposed within the lumen of the cannula and connected to a proximal end of the everting member to move the everting member from an inverted position inside the cannula to an everted position outside the cannula. The systems may also include a tube having a passageway, the tube slidably disposed within the pathway of the push assembly and extending through a proximal end of the push assembly into the pathway of the push assembly to selectively move from a first position inside the push assembly to a second position outside the push assembly.
Endoluminal access devices and related methods of use
An endoluminal access system for accessing a body lumen includes a guide track which, when in an operative position, extends through a body lumen to a desired location therewithin and a modular device selectively coupleable to the guide track, the modular device including a drive mechanism for engaging the guide track to move the modular device along the guide track within the body lumen. A method of resecting tissue from a site within a body includes the steps of inserting a guide track to a desired location within the body lumen, coupling a modular device to a proximal end of the guide track and actuating a motor mounted within the modular device to drive the modular device distally along the guide track to the site, drawing tissue at the site into the modular device in combination with the steps of coupling together a portion of tissue adjacent to the site, resecting the tissue from the site and actuating the motor to drive the modular device proximally to withdraw the modular device from the body lumen.
Lithotripsy Apparatus Using a Flexible Endoscope
An apparatus and method are presented comprising an endoscope including a flexible shaft which has an active deflection section at a distal tip, a handle connected to a proximal end of the flexible shaft, a platform mounted to a top portion of the handle and oriented substantially in line with the longitudinal axis of the proximal end of a straight portion of the flexible shaft to provide a substantially straight entry into a working channel of the flexible shaft for an output accessory, a stone retrieval device insertable into the proximal end of the working channel of the endoscope, a lithotripsy shaft including one or more guide features at a distal end of the lithotripsy shaft to facilitate passage of wires or filaments of the stone retrieval device there through, and a lithotripsy shaft driver attached to the platform for driving the lithotripsy shaft under power.
METHODS FOR ADVANCING INVERTING MECHANICAL THROMBECTOMY APPARATUSES IN THE VASCULATURE
Mechanical thrombectomy apparatuses (devices, systems, etc.) and methods for positioning them within a vessel and using them to remove a thrombus, e.g., clot, from within a vessel. In particular, described herein are methods of advancing an inverting tractor thrombectomy apparatus having a tractor comprising a flexible tube of material that inverts over itself as it rolls over a distal end opening of an elongate inversion support by extending the tractor region and/or a puller coupled to the tractor distally beyond the end of the catheter. Also described herein are power-driven mechanical thrombectomy apparatuses.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MOVING AN ELONGATE ROD
An apparatus for moving an elongate rod longitudinally and rotationally, and a method of moving the elongate rod longitudinally and rotationally, are provided. A translation member has a first translation member end held relatively stationary and a longitudinally spaced second translation member end which is selectively movable longitudinally with respect to the first translation member end via actuation of the translation member. The second translation member end is operatively connected to selectively impart longitudinal motion to the elongate rod. A rotation member has a first rotation member end held relatively stationary and a longitudinally spaced second rotation member end which is selectively rotatable with respect to the first rotation member end via actuation of the rotation member. The second rotation member end is operatively connected to selectively impart rotational motion to the elongate rod.
Magnetic Snare Endovascular Catheter System for Central Venous Stenosis
A method, device and system having dual catheters each containing a large circular, circumferential and oppositely polar magnet at each catheter tip.
Systems and methods for thrombus aspiration
Systems and methods include positioning of a catheter lumen in a first position with respect to a thrombus, the catheter lumen defined by a catheter, initiating of evacuation of a tubing lumen, where the tubing lumen is not in fluid communication with the catheter lumen, determination that a pressure within the tubing lumen is equal to or less than a target aspiration pressure, and, in response to the determination that the pressure within the tubing lumen is equal to or less than a target aspiration pressure, automatic establishment of fluid communication between the tubing lumen and the catheter lumen.
