Devices for approximating tissue and related
Devices for approximating multiple tissue edges internal to a body are disclosed.
Articulated tool positioner and system employing same
A laparoscopic surgical apparatus for performing a surgical procedure through a single incision in a patient's body includes a gross positioning arm supported on a moveable platform, the gross positioner including a head; at least one articulated tool positioning apparatus coupled via a tool controller to an underside of the head, the articulated tool positioning apparatus being configured to receive a tool for performing surgical operations, the tool controller being actuated by the head to cause movements of the articulated tool positioning apparatus for performing surgical operations; and wherein the gross positioner is configured to permit the head to be positioned to facilitate insertion of the articulated tool positioning apparatus through the incision into the patient's body.
Modular device comprising mechanical arms
A method of constructing a system comprising one or more surgical arms, comprising: providing: a plurality of modular units, each modular unit comprising at least one surgical arm attached to at least one motor unit configured for actuating movement of the surgical arm; coupling one or more modular units to each other in an attachment configuration; displaying on a user interface one or both of an indication of the attachment configuration and a selection of an attachment configuration.
Surgical instrument apparatus, actuator, and drive
A surgical instrument apparatus for performing a surgical procedure within a body cavity of a patient is disclosed and includes an elongate manipulator having a distal end for receiving an end effector and including a plurality of control links extending through the manipulator operable to cause movement of the distal end in response to movement of the control links in a longitudinal direction. An actuator chassis is disposed at a proximal end of the manipulator and includes a plurality of actuators slidingly mounted within the actuator chassis for linear movement in the longitudinal direction. Each actuator is coupled to a control link and adjacently disposed about a curved periphery of the actuator chassis. An outwardly oriented portion couples a drive force to the actuator to cause movement of the control link.
ROBOTIC SURGICAL DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
The various inventions relate to robotic surgical devices, consoles for operating such surgical devices, operating theaters in which the various devices can be used, insertion systems for inserting and using the surgical devices, and related methods.
LAPAROSCOPIC SURGICAL ROBOTIC SYSTEM WITH INTERNAL DEGREES OF FREEDOM OF ARTICULATION
Systems, methods, and media for performing laparoscopic surgery with degrees of freedom of articulation that are internal to the body cavity of the subject during one or more laparoscopic surgical operations are provided. A system for performing laparoscopic surgery may comprise a robotic arm comprising one or more wrist elements. The one or more wrist elements may be configured to be inserted into a body cavity of a subject to perform one or more laparoscopic surgical operations therein. The robotic arm may be configured to provide one or more degrees of freedom of articulation that are internal to the body cavity of the subject during the one or more laparoscopic surgical operations.
Single site robotic device and related systems and methods
Disclosed herein are various medical device components, including components that can be incorporated into robotic and/or in vivo medical devices. Also disclosed are various medical devices for in vivo medical procedures. Included herein, for example, is a surgical robotic device having an elongate device body, a right robotic arm coupled to a right shoulder assembly, and a left robotic arm coupled to a left shoulder assembly.
INSERTABLE TUBE SURGICAL ROBOT
An insertable robot for minimally invasive surgery includes a tube array having a guide tube housed within a straightening tube. The guide tube includes a curved working end. The guide tube may be axially translated and rotated relative to the straightening tube such that the curved working end is constrained inside the straightening tube, causing the curved working end to achieve a smaller dimension. The tube array is inserted into a working channel on an endoscope, resectoscope or trocar. Once the tube array is inserted, the curved working end of the guide tube is translated forward beyond the distal end of the working channel, allowing the curved working end to return to its pre-formed shape. A surgical tool is inserted through the guide tube for an operation. The straightening tube allows the guide tube curved working end to be temporarily straightened during insertion and removal of the tube array.
