Surgical instrument systems comprising handle arrangements
A surgical instrument system comprising a first motor, a second motor, and a third motor is disclosed. The surgical instrument system comprises a first handle comprising a first number of controls, a second handle comprising a second number of controls, and a shaft assembly. The shaft assembly is attachable to the first handle in a first orientation in order to engage one of the motors. The shaft assembly is attachable to the second handle in a second orientation to engage a different motor. The surgical instrument system is configured to perform a different function of an end effector in the first orientation and the second orientation.
AN ACTUATION CONNECTOR FOR A TOOL
A tool actuation connector includes a tool activation interface, a longitudinal lock interface and a rotation lock interface. The tool actuation connector includes a latching spring, an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve. The latching spring includes a plurality of spring hooks, for coupling with the tool activation interface. The inner sleeve is operable to longitudinally move relative to the latching spring. The inner sleeve couples the latching spring to the activation interface when the inner sleeve is located over the latching spring and releases the latching spring from the activation interface when the inner sleeve moves away from the latching spring toward the proximal direction. The outer sleeve is rotationally locked with the inner sleeve and is operable to longitudinally move relative to the inner sleeve. The outer sleeve is further operable to rotationally lock with the tool via the rotation lock interface.
Surgical system comprising a surgical tool and a surgical hub
A surgical system for use in a surgical theater is disclosed. The surgical system comprises a surgical tool and a surgical hub. The surgical tool comprises a motor, a motor controller in signal communication with the motor, and an end effector configured to perform an end effector function. The end effector is operably responsive to the motor. The surgical hub is in signal communication with the motor controller. The surgical hub is configured to detect a contextual cue within the surgical theater. The motor controller is configured to adjust an operating parameter of the motor based on the contextual cue detected by the surgical hub.
DIRECTABLE TRACTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Described here are methods, systems, and devices, useful for minimally invasive surgical procedures. The methods may include introducing a grasper through an opening into an abdominal cavity, grasping a portion of a left lobe of a liver with the grasper, rotating the grasper towards a control element located outside the abdominal cavity by applying a magnetic field to the grasper across a body wall, and moving the control element over a set of ribs such that the liver bends into a folded configuration.
Hemostatic clip device
The present invention relates to a medical instrument, and particularly relates to a hemostatic clip device. The device includes a clamping component and a holder component. The head portion of the sleeve is provided with open slots for clamping arms to move. The tail ends of the outer side edges of clamping arms each is provided with a recess. A hole, corresponding to the position of the recess of one clamping arm, is formed in the other one. The sleeve is connected with the sleeve holder through inner core. The head end of the double-wire supporting arm is connected with the holes, and the other end is connected with wire rope and passes through the sleeve, the inner core, the sleeve holder and a bourdon tube so as to be connected with an operation handle. The device has the advantages of simple structure, firm clamping, convenient use and the like.
APPARATUS AND ETHODS FOR HYBRID ENDOSCOPIC AND LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY
Apparatus and methods are described allow the techniques of endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery to be combined into a minimally invasive hybrid surgical technique called NOTES-assisted laparoscopic surgery. Manual and robotic-controlled versions of a modular laparoscopic tool are described having a small diameter shaft that is delivered laparoscopically to a surgical site. Larger diameter working tips are delivered through a NOTES delivery tube inserted to the surgical site through a natural orifice and joined to the shaft of the modular laparoscopic tool. Larger diameter working tips improve the effectiveness of the modular laparoscopic tools and the number and size of laparoscopic ports used can also be reduced.
Quick-release end effector tool interface
The various embodiments herein relate to a coupling apparatus for a medical device having a coupler body, a cavity defined in the coupler body, a rotatable drive component disposed within the cavity and having at least two pin-receiving openings, and an actuable locking ring disposed around the cavity.
Devices for approximating tissue and related
Devices for approximating multiple tissue edges internal to a body are disclosed.
Articulatable surgical stapling instruments
A surgical instrument that includes a shaft assembly that defines a shaft axis and includes a proximal articulation joint that defines a first articulation axis that is transverse to the shaft axis and a distal articulation joint that defines a second articulation axis that is transverse to the shaft axis and the first articulation axis. The instrument further includes an anvil that is non-removably attached to the shaft assembly and a channel that is removably attachable to the shaft assembly and configured to operably support a surgical staple cartridge.
Multipurpose endoscopic surgical instrument
The present disclosure provides a multipurpose endoscopic surgical instrument. The instrument adopts a technical feature in which an interchangeable tool and a tool holder are connected to each other by inserting the mounting key into the opening mounting groove, and adopts a technical feature that the driving member includes an inserting block at the front part. It realizes the technical solution that by moving the inserting block to insert into the interchangeable tool to prevent the mounting key from moving out of the opening of the mounting groove, the interchangeable tool can be mounted on the tool holder. It realizes the technical solution that by moving the inserting block to exit the interchangeable tool, the interchangeable tool can be moved out of the tool holder.
