INTERATRIAL SEPTOPLASTY CUTTING DEVICE
A medical device having an elongate body with a proximal portion, a distal portion, and defining a lumen therethrough. The medical device has an expandable element coupled to the distal portion of the elongate body, the expandable element defining a proximal portion, a distal portion opposite the proximal portion and an intermediate portion disposed between the proximal portion and the distal portion. The expandable element also has an inner surface and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. The medical device has a plurality of cutting members, each cutting member being coupled with the outer surface of the expandable element, each cutting member having a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, the proximal end being proximate the proximal portion of the expandable element and the distal end being proximate to the intermediate portion of the expandable element.
INTRAVASCULAR CATHETER HAVING AN EXPANDABLE INCISING PORTION
An intravascular catheter device includes an expandable portion secured to a flexible catheter tube and configured for controllable movement between a first position where at least a portion of each of a plurality of struts is moved outward so as to extend beyond an outer surface of a sheath and a second position where the struts are compressed. A limiter for restricting expansion of the expandable portion is interposed between the expandable portion and a tip member located distal to the expandable portion. An incising element associated with one of the struts is configured to incise tissue located within a blood vessel when the expandable portion is placed in the first position and retracted axially along the blood vessel.
ROTATIONAL ATHERECTOMY DEVICE AND MEDICAL DEVICE COMPRISING ROTATIONAL ATHERECTOMY DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a rotational atherectomy device and a medical device including the rotational atherectomy device. The rotational atherectomy device includes a drive shaft and a rotational atherectomy component connected to the drive shaft. The rotational atherectomy component includes a base and a rotational atherectomy block. The rotational atherectomy block is relatively movably assembled on the base. When the rotational atherectomy component rotates, the rotational atherectomy block moves in a direction away from the base.
TRANSCATHETER VALVE LACERATION DEVICE AND METHOD
A transcatheter valve laceration device (10, 100) includes a leaflet support frame (12, 112) and a leaflet cutting assembly (14, 114), both of which are movably mounted on a guiding structure (16, 116) and movable between contracted and expanded orientations. In the expanded orientation, a blade protector (24, 124) of the leaflet support frame (12, 112) is positioned over a cutting element (36, 136) of the leaflet cutting assembly (14, 114).
Thrombectomy device
A thrombectomy device including a profiled member made from a piece of mesh material. The piece in a relaxed condition in axial cross section has a generally cylindrical outer profile. The piece includes a central cross part with a generally S shaped profile, with respective side parts extending circumferentially in a clockwise direction from each end of the cross part, to provide a free end located adjacent an opposite end of the cross part.
Thrombectomy devices and treatment of acute ischemic stroke with thrombus engagement
Components and corresponding systems are described for providing removal of a clot or fragment thereof to address an acute ischemic stroke condition. In particular, a filter design is presented that provides metal elements below a bundle of polymer fibers to provide more mechanical strength while cushioning the vessel wall from direct contact with the metal elements. Designs of stent retrievers are presented with polymer covers or mounted on the exterior of a microcatheter. Corresponding systems are described that can use various combinations of the components, generally in combination with an aspiration catheter. Corresponding procedures are described that can effectively use the various devices and systems.
Methods and apparatus for treating embolism
A method and apparatus for treating a clot in the blood vessel of a patient, and particularly the treatment of a pulmonary embolism is disclosed. The treatment includes restoring flow through the clot followed by clot removal, either partially or substantially completely. The clot treatment device is expandable into the blood vessel and may contain radial extensions that assist in restoring flow as well as in removing clot material.
SYSTEM FOR INCISING LEAFLETS OF A HEART VALVE
A cutting system for use prior to valve replacement that includes a cutting assembly and a sheath. The cutting assembly includes an expansion member that is movable between a stowed position and an expanded position, and at least a first cutting member associated with the expansion member. The first cutting member is configured to incise a first leaflet. The sheath defines a lumen therethrough and the cutting assembly is movable within the lumen.
Radial cutter implant
An implant for creating incisions in the tissues surrounding the bladder neck and the urethra of a patient, for relaxing the opening of the bladder, the implant includes a central connector and at least one wire, the wires extend radially outwardly from the center of the central connector, the wires apply continuous pressure on the surrounding tissues, the wires are foldable within an implant sheath for enabling delivery and extraction thereof, the implant is implanted within a restricted location of the urethra for a period of time for creating incisions at the locations where the wires apply pressure on the surrounding tissues.
Devices and methods for the preparation of intervertebral discs
A power tool for removing an intervertebral disc and preparing vertebral endplates is described. The power tool may include a cutting element, and the height of the cutting element may be adjustable. The cutting element may be a braided cable and may include one or more beads to enhance the effectiveness of the cable. The cutting element may have a minimum height requirement, which may not be satisfied in patients with a collapsed disc due to degenerative disc disorder. For these patients, also described are bone tamps for increasing the intervertebral distance and providing access to tissues distal to the tamp. One type of bone tamp features an inflatable balloon with an inner lumen. Another type of bone tamp includes an expanding distal end and an inner cannula. Also described is a manual expander scraper tool that is compatible with both types of bone tamp.
