Thrombectomy devices with maceration
A thrombectomy device includes a handle at a proximal end portion of the device, a first arm connected to the handle, and a second arm extending to a distal end portion of the device. The device may also include a cage at the distal end portion of the device, the cage being adjustable between a contracted orientation and an expanded orientation, the cage including a cutting element disposed between a proximal end portion of the cage and a distal end of the cage, the cutting element including one or more of a round wire, a flat wire, or a blade configured to remove matter from a body lumen when the cage is in the expanded orientation, and a macerator extending within the first arm and the second arm, the macerator including a helical element.
MEDICAL DEVICE
A medical device is disclosed for cutting an object in a body lumen. The medical device includes a rotation structure having a cutting portion and an outer surface of the cutting portion including a notch, and wherein a width of at least a proximal portion of the notch increases toward a proximal end of the notch; and a drive shaft connected to a motor and configured to be connected to the rotation structure to drive a rotation of the rotation structure.
Incising implant for the prostatic urethra
An incising implant for creating incisions in the prostatic urethra of a subject, the implant including at least two closed-shaped wires, each of the wires having a proximal section, a distal section and two longitudinal sections extending between the proximal section and the distal section, each of the closed-shaped wires being elastic thereby being compressible into a compressed configuration, each of the longitudinal sections of each of the wires being adjoined with another longitudinal section of another one of the wires.
Methods and Devices for Cervical Cell and Tissue Sampling
The present invention comprises methods and devices comprising a cutting element used to contact circumferentially and longitudinally the surface walls of the endocervical canal to provide for broad and complete contact of the intended surface with the device, resulting in attainment of a sufficient volume and comprehensive tissue sample for analysis as an endocervical curettage or screening pap smear. The device may provide for a reservoir for the obtained sample to be contained when removing from the cervical canal and vagina. The device may be comprised of a detachable means or be of a material that allows the user to cut the sampling head of the device for placement in collection means to maximize the amount of tissue or cells being sent to the laboratory for analysis.
Apparatus and methods for disrupting intervertebral disc tissue
An apparatus for disrupting tissue in the intervertebral disc space that includes a barrier member having a first configuration for insertion into the disc space and a second configuration when deployed within the disc space. The second configuration of the barrier member is adapted to at least partially define a perimeter of a working region within the disc space. The apparatus also includes a tissue disruption tool configured for insertion into the working region.
High-torque guidewires and methods for making and using them
High torque guidewires and methods for making and using them are provided. A guidewire may include an inner core wire movable relative to an outer jacket. The outer jacket includes proximal and distal ends, a lumen extending there between, thereby defining a longitudinal axis, and one or more helical slots adjacent the distal end. The core wire includes a proximal portion, a distal portion slidably received in the outer jacket lumen and terminating in a curved distal tip that extends from the outer jacket distal end, and one or more pins on the distal portion, each pin slidably received in a respective helical slot in the outer jacket such that axial movement of the core wire relative to the outer jacket causes the pin to slide within the helical slot and rotate the distal tip relative to the outer jacket distal end.
Paranasal sinus medical device and uses thereof
The present disclosure generally relates to the field of medical devices for treatment and diagnosis of paranasal sinus conditions and methods of using same. There is disclosed a device having a hollow shaft configured to be inserted into a paranasal sinus through a natural opening thereof. The hollow shaft is shaped/configured to reach a treatment area within the paranasal sinus.
Atherectomy devices and methods
Rotational atherectomy devices and systems can remove or reduce stenotic lesions in blood vessels by rotating one or more abrasive elements within the vessel. The abrasive elements are attached to a distal portion of an elongate flexible drive shaft that extends from a handle assembly that includes a driver for rotating the drive shaft. In particular implementations, individual abrasive elements are attached to the drive shaft at differing radial angles in comparison to each other (e.g., configured in a helical array). The centers of mass of the abrasive elements can define a path that spirals around the drive shaft in a direction that is opposite to the wind direction of filars of the drive shaft, and opposite to the direction of rotation. In some embodiments, a concentric abrasive tip member is affixed to and extends distally from a distal-most end of the drive shaft.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR THE PREPARATION OF INTERVERTEBRAL DISCS
A power tool for removing an intervertebral disc and preparing vertebral endplates is described. The power tool may include a cutting element, and the height of the cutting element may be adjustable. The cutting element may be a braided cable and may include one or more beads to enhance the effectiveness of the cable. The cutting element may have a minimum height requirement, which may not be satisfied in patients with a collapsed disc due to degenerative disc disorder. For these patients, also described are bone tamps for increasing the intervertebral distance and providing access to tissues distal to the tamp. One type of bone tamp features an inflatable balloon with an inner lumen. Another type of bone tamp includes an expanding distal end and an inner cannula. Also described is a manual expander scraper tool that is compatible with both types of bone tamp.
LASSO FILTER TIPPED MICROCATHETER FOR SIMULTANEOUS ROTATING SEPARATOR, IRRIGATOR FOR THROMBECTOMY AND METHOD FOR USE
The invention provides a filter assembly including a string or wire such that a lasso type cincture is effected, said filter being openable and closeable while in deployed within a bodily vessel. A string lengthen or shorting adjustment mechanism, such as a ratchet or reel allows more length of string into the device or alternatively to shorten the length of available string in the system. The described invention, when used to ameliorate venous clots and most arterio-venous dialysis grafts, a filter-tipped aspirator is used downstream from the clot to capture and remove dislocated emboli. A method of using same is disclosed.
