Systems and methods for increasing blood flow

Described here are devices, systems, and methods for improving blood flow in a vessel. Generally, the method may comprise advancing a catheter into a first vessel proximal to an occlusion in the first vessel and forming a fistula between the first vessel and a second vessel. This may deliver blood flow around an occlusion to ischemic tissues located in the peripheral vasculature.

Catheter system and method for boring through blocked vascular passages

A rotating cutting head catheter for passage through chronic total occlusions or other refractory atherosclerotic plaque from diseased arteries is disclosed. The catheter's rotating cutting head is designed to reside safely within an outer protective sheath when not in use. The outer protective sheath contains one or more helical grooves or slots, and the cutting head contains protruding blades or projections that fit into these helical grooves or slots. Application of torque to an inner catheter or wire attached to the cutting head applies spin to the cutting head, and the force of the sheath's helical grooves or slots against the cutting head's protruding blades or projections advances the cutting head outward from the protective sheath. Once extended, the cutting head may now rotate freely. The device may use a guidewire to direct the cutting head to the desired position.

Method for displaying an anatomical image of a coronary artery on a graphical user interface

A method for displaying an anatomical image of a coronary artery on a graphical user interface with information acquired from a plurality of intravascular image frames. The method may include detecting qualitative information from the plurality of intravascular image frames, creating one or more indicator(s) from the qualitative information detected, and determining a spatial relationship between the anatomical image and a plurality of acquisition locations of the plurality of intravascular image frames and generating its linear representation. The method also includes displaying the anatomical image of the coronary artery with the linear representation overlaid thereon on a display device and overlaying the one or more indicator(s) representing at least one type of qualitative information on the anatomical image along the linear representation.

Inverting thrombectomy apparatuses and methods of use

Described herein are mechanical inverting tube apparatuses that may be used to remove clot (e.g., thrombectomy), the apparatuses including an inversion support catheter having an expandable funnel-shaped distal end, and a flexible tube that can be continuously rolled over the funnel-shaped distal end and invert into the inner lumen of the inversion support catheter.

A thrombectomy system includes a frame having plurality of struts joined at an apex, a netting coupled to the plurality of struts, a pestle moveable relative to the frame and configured and arranged to macerate a clot within a vessel, adherent to its walls and against a portion of the apex of the frame.

Endovascular devices and methods for exploiting intramural space

Devices and methods for the treatment of chronic total occlusions are provided. One disclosed embodiment comprises a method of facilitating treatment via a vascular wall defining a vascular lumen containing an occlusion therein. The method includes inserting an intramural crossing device into the vascular lumen, positioning at least the distal tip of the crossing device in the vascular wall, advancing an orienting device over the crossing device such that an orienting element of the orienting device resides in the vascular wall, inserting a reentry device, and re-entering the true vascular lumen.

Obstruction Retrieval Devices

Retrieval assemblies configured to capture an obstruction located in a bodily duct of a patient and associated methods of manufacture are provided. According to one implementation a retrieval assembly is provided that includes a distal collar fixed stationary on an elongate wire, a proximal collar slideable along a portion of the length of the elongate wire, and a plurality of shape memory elongate clot capturing elements that each has a proximal end coupled to the proximal collar and a distal end coupled to the distal collar. The retrieval device is configured to automatically transition from a radially constrained state to an expanded rest state with the proximal collar located nearer the distal collar when in the expanded rest state. As the retrieval device transitions from the radially constrained state to the expanded rest state, proximal portions of the clot capturing elements invert around the proximal collar.

Venous valve incising blades, manufacturing method of the same and artery revascularization treatment using the same

A venous valve incising cutter includes a cutting teeth head, a guide, a wire and a coupling rod that couples the guide and a cutting teeth head, all aligned in a rotation axis thereof. More than four pieces of cutting blades are formed on the outer surrounding surface of the cutting teeth head. Each cutting blade has a roughly triangular pyramid shape such that the three ridge lines are composed of the outer surrounding surface of the cutting teeth head and the two planes formed in the reverse side of the outer surrounding surface and the apex is a knife-point of the cutting blade.

EXCISIONAL DEVICES AND METHODS

A platform device for material excision or removal from vascular structures for either handheld or stereotactic table or robotics platform use may comprise a work element or elements configured to selectively open and close at least one articulable beak or scoopula configured to penetrate and remove intra-vascular materials or obstructions, or follow a central lumen of another device or over a wire in a longitudinal direction. Flush and vacuum tissue transport mechanisms may be incorporated as well as single or multiple arrays of image guidance elements, directional elements, ablation elements and other interventional assistance elements. A single tube or an inner sheath and an outer sheath which may be co-axially disposed relative to a work element may be configured to actuate a beak or beaks or scoopulas and provisions for simultaneous or differential beak or scoopula closing under their differential rotation may be incorporated.
