Medical device handles and related methods
A medical insertion device may include a handle including a proximal portion, an intermediate portion, and a distal portion. A delivery shaft may be coupled to a distal most end of the distal portion of the handle. The handle may further include a deflection lever, and a hub for introduction of a medical device, the hub and the deflection lever both being located in the proximal portion of the handle.
Subcutaneous tunneling tool with depth guard
In one aspect, a tunneling tool for creating a subcutaneous pocket below a skin surface is provided. The tunneling tool may include a handle, a rod, a first prong, and a second prong. The rod and the first and second prongs may extend from a first end of the handle. The rod may extend farther from the first end of the handle than the first and second prongs and be configured to create the subcutaneous pocket. The first and second prongs may be configured to limit the depth at which the rod is capable of creating the subcutaneous pocket. The first and second prong may comprise first and second length indicators, respectively, configured to indicate a length of the subcutaneous pocket formed by the rod. In another aspect, a method of creating a subcutaneous pocket using the tunneling tool is provided.
CUTTING DEVICE AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems, apparatus, and methods are described for forming an incision in tissue for receiving a surgical instrument. A cutting device for forming the incision can be reversibly coupleable to an instrument, e.g., a dilator. The instrument may define a lumen configured to receive a wire that extends or is otherwise extendable through a puncture site. The cutting device can include a cutting element configured to be actuated to form the incision such that the incision extends form the puncture site and is sized to receive the instrument.

Scalpel handle sheath with blade remover
A scalpel handle sheath includes a body defining a first end and an arm adjacent the first end, the flexible arm having a first boss extending inwardly therefrom and a second boss extending outwardly from the arm. The scalpel handle sheath also includes a shield coupled with the body and slideable between a retracted position and a removal position. The shield defines an edge applying an inward force on the second boss during movement of the shield from the extended position to the removal position and a removal flange extending within the shield and passing the first end of the body during movement of the shield into the removal position.
Surgical tool for forming incisions in ocular tissue with tip providing visibility and related apparatus and method
A surgical tool includes a housing having a driver and a surgical blade configured to be bi-directionally rotated by the driver. The surgical tool also includes a footplate configured to receive the surgical blade. The footplate includes a bottom portion configured to rest on ocular tissue of a patient's eye. The bottom portion includes a slot configured to allow passage of a portion of the surgical blade through the bottom portion of the footplate and into the ocular tissue of the patient's eye. The footplate also includes multiple walls having multiple openings. The openings are configured to receive additional portions of the surgical blade such that the surgical blade is rotatable relative to the footplate. The footplate further includes an additional opening or open side configured to allow viewing of the surgical blade and the slot during use.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF TELANGIECTASIAS
A device for destroying the blood vessels forming telangiectasias includes: one blade; and a device body, the body having firstly a means for gripping the device and secondly a support for the blade; and a stop situated at a distance of between 0.1 and 1 cm from a distal end of the blade limiting the penetration of the blade, in the thickness of the skin, to a depth of less than 1 cm.
Microwave tissue dissection and coagulation
A surgical instrument is configured to concurrently dissect and coagulate tissue. The surgical instrument includes a handle and a shaft extending distally from the handle. The shaft includes an outer hypotube, a lumen coaxially-disposed within the hypotube and extending beyond a distal end thereof, a coaxial feedline coaxially-disposed within the lumen, and having an inner conductor and an outer conductor disposed coaxially about the inner conductor, and a coolant tube coaxially-disposed between the lumen and the coaxial feedline to form an inflow conduit and an outflow conduit. The instrument further includes a dissecting head assembly coupled to a distal end of the shaft. The dissecting head assembly includes a dielectric core having a substantially planar radiating surface and at least one non-radiating surface, a reflective coating disposed on the at least one non-radiating surface of the dielectric core, and a blade extending from the radiating surface.
SUBCUTANEOUS CUTTING DEVICE
The present disclosure describes a subcutaneous cutting device for insertion into tissues and cutting of targeted tissues. The cutting device includes a handle, a cannula extending distally from the handle to a sharpened distal tip, and an adjustable blade disposed within a blade-holding section of the cannula. The blade is selectively adjustable between a retracted position within the cannula and an open position with the blade tip lifted up and angled away from the cannula. When the blade is in the open position, the blade tip points proximally toward the handle.
Sheath type disposable safety scalpel
A sheath type disposable safety scalpel consists of the blade, handle and sheath, and when the sheath slides forward and backward in relation to the handle, the blade shows the extension and retraction states in the sheath, wherein: the positioning mechanism consists of the button on the sheath and the blade protection locking notch and blade exposure locking notch on the handle, and the unlocking inclined surface is set under the blade protection locking notch and blade protection locking notch, and when the button is pressed and pulled, the locking head touches the unlocking inclined surface and climbs out of the locking notch along the unlocking inclined surface to unlock, so that sheath slides between blade protection locking notch and blade exposure locking notch in relation to the handle. The scalpel breaks the monopolization of traditional positioning mechanism, improves safety of scalpel and improves user hand feeling and sound experience.
