Coupler for blades and handles
A device is provided for coupling and decoupling a blade and a handle, wherein the device includes a housing that defines an interior chamber and an exterior slot adjacent the interior chamber. The exterior slot is dimensioned to pass the blade and is configured to receive a portion of the handle. The housing defines a groove in the interior chamber configured to retain the blade in a ready configuration for coupling the blade to the handle. The device includes a pivot member secured within the interior chamber of the housing. The pivot member is pivotable between an unlocked configuration and a locked configuration. The unlocked configuration of the pivot member is configured to allow the blade in the ready configuration to be coupled to the handle. The locked configuration of the pivot member is configured to lock the blade within the interior chamber.

Knife
A knife having a first body part and a second body part cooperating with one another to allow a blade to be secured thereto, the body parts cooperate with one another such that sliding movement of the first body part relative to the second body part can occur, and a latch arrangement whereby the body parts can be latched against relative sliding movement from a first position towards a second position, the latch arrangement having a resilient member carried by the first body part and cooperable with the second body part to latch the body parts against sliding movement towards the second position, and an opening provided in the second body part through which a tool can be inserted to depress the resilient member and allow such sliding movement to occur.
Apparatus for detaching surgical blades
An apparatus for detaching a blade from a scalpel handle is provided. The blade has a cutting portion and a heel portion and is removably mounted on a tang of the scalpel handle. The apparatus has a flexible blade detachment member with a stepped portion for engaging the heel of the blade as the handle is withdrawn and a leading angled portion. A backing member is provided with the detachment member being arranged adjacent the backing member so that during use the detachment member flexes in only one direction, away from the mounting tang in response to force applied by the handle to the leading angled portion thereby causing the blade and the handle to be separated and detached relative to each other. Upon withdrawing the tang from the opening, the stepped portion engages the heel of the blade resulting in detachment of the blade from the tang.

TRIMSAFE HISTOLOGY RADIUS BLADE GROSSING KNIFE
A histology radius blade grossing knife is provided. The histology radius blade grossing knife has a blade mounting system adapted to operatively retain a histology radius trimming blade. The blade mounting system provides a retaining spine for engaging an upper edge of the trimming blade, wherein a rear portion of the retaining spine is securely sandwiched by retaining plates of the blade mounting system. Furthermore, the trimming blade provides notches and/or recesses for facilitating such operative association. Each histology radius trimming blade embodies a radiused or otherwise uniquely shaped heel for cutting and dissecting tissue
Device for the Removal and Loading of Surgical Blades and Methods of Use
The present disclosure provides a device for the loading and removal of a surgical blade. The device includes a base, a first sidewall extending vertically from a first side of the base, a second sidewall extending vertically from a second side of the base, and a third sidewall extending vertically from a first end of the base. The device also includes a first protrusion and a second protrusion each extending vertically from the base and positioned such that there is a gap between the first protrusion and the second protrusion at a second end of the base. The device also includes a moveable member coupled to the third sidewall and extending in a direction towards the second end of the base. The moveable member is movable from a first position to a second position in which a bottom surface of the moveable member is closer to the base.

SAFETY CUTTING DEVICE
A safety cutting device includes a slidable insert that moves longitudinally within a cavity of a housing. The slidable insert has a cutting blade attached and moves within the housing from a safe position in which the blade is covered to an exposed position for cutting. The safety device has a release button positioned near an anterior end of the housing. A biasing member automatically retracts the blade when the release button is activated.
