A closure for an open headed medical implant, such as a bone screw. The closure having a cylindrical body with an axis of rotation and also having a radially outer surface with a thread or other guide and advancement structure thereon. The body having a plurality of tool mating structures that communicate with a bottom surface of the body and that are parallel to but spaced from the axis of rotation.

DRIVER AND SYSTEM FOR THREADED INTRAMEDULLARY NAIL RETAINING ENDCAPS

A driver for engaging an endcap of an intramedullary nail. The driver includes a handle extending along a longitudinal axis of the driver from a proximal end to a distal end. The handle having a handle channel extending longitudinally therethrough. The driver also includes a shaft extending through the handle channel from a proximal end to a distal end along the longitudinal axis. The shaft having a shaft channel extending longitudinally therethrough. The distal end of the shaft extends distally from the handle. The distal end of the shaft forms a driving element to be inserted into a head portion of the endcap. The driver further includes a retention pin slidably received in the shaft channel. The retention pin extends also extends along the longitudinal axis. The distal end of the retention pin is configured to reversibly lock the shaft to the head portion of the endcap.

Bone marrow access apparatus

A bone marrow access apparatus includes a bone penetrating member having an internal channel having an opening at a proximal end and an opening at a distal end. A valve cap is engaged with the bone penetrating member, the valve cap defining an interior cavity in which part of the bone penetrating member is situated. The valve cap includes a valve having an opening having an open state in which the channel is not obstructed and a closed state to prevent flow of a material through the channel. The valve is repeatedly switchable between the open and closed states. The bone penetrating member has an upper surface and a seat which is below the upper surface, the seat being located at an interior of the bone penetrating member, and the seat being engageable with an installation or removal instrument.

Insertion tool for flip anchor cable system insertion

An insertion tool for deploying a flip anchor cable, including: a mechanism having a safety button and a slider, wherein the mechanism is configured to apply a clamping force on a portion of the flip anchor cable when the mechanism is in a first position; an inner tube having a proximal end connected to the mechanism configured to house a second portion of the flip anchor cable; a handle including a safety button opening and a slider opening, wherein the handle is configured to enclose a portion of the mechanism; and an outer tube having a proximal end connected to the handle configured to receive the inner tube; wherein the mechanism is configured to decrease the clamping force on the flip anchor cable when the mechanism is in a second position and to deploy a flip anchor of the flip anchor cable in the second position.

BONE ANCHOR WITH CORD RETENTION FEATURES

Methods and apparatus for coupling two or more bones together with a flexible connector.

Anti-Microbial Implant

Non-load-bearing, drug-eluting components, such as a rod cover, that can be added to load bearing spinal implants.

Implantation assembly comprising a drive instrument pre-fitted on a bone implant

The invention concerns an implantation assembly comprising a bone-anchoring element comprising a threaded rod provided at one of its ends with a head and an instrument for driving the bone-anchoring element, said instrument comprising a drive spindle removably premounted on the bone-anchoring element.

An end cap is provided comprising a head with a tool engagement portion and a shaft with a tip, wherein the shaft comprises a threaded conical portion starting from the tip and extending in a direction to the head. The thread may be provided with a constant pitch, i.e. with a constant distance between the turns of the thread.

Anti-microbial implant

Non-load-bearing, drug-eluting components, such as a rod cover, that can be added to load bearing spinal implants.

Assembly Formed By A Bone Anchoring Base Belonging to a Prosthetic Joint and by at Least One Screw Fastening This Base to a Bone

An assembly has a bone anchoring base and a screw. The bone anchoring base has at least one protrusion configured to be inserted in a hole arranged in the cancellous portion of a bone. The screw has a thread suitable for engaging with the cancellous portion of the bone. The protrusion is inwardly hollow and comprises an orifice at its distal free end, the screw being configured to be engaged through the protrusion and screwed in the cancellous portion of the bone through the orifice. The orifice is tapped at the pitch of the thread of the screw and the thickness of a distal wall is such that it is possible to arrange more than half of a turn of the threading therein, suitable for receiving the thread of the screw, such that, during the placement of the screw, the thread of this screw engages with said distal wall.
