Device for the cerclage of fractured bones and system for the cerclage of fractured bones comprising such device
A device for the cerclage of fractured bone as well as to a cerclage system using such device are provided. The cerclage device comprises a cerclage wire or thread and at least one spacer arranged on the cerclage wire or thread. The at least one spacer is made as a band having a substantially rectangular plan and a concave profile. Owing to the concave profile, the band can adapt to the surface of the fractured bone; in addition, the force exerted on the bone by the cerclage wire is advantageously distributed over the entire surface of the band. The cerclage device further comprises at least one safety thread which allows preventing the spacer from becoming lost in the patient's body in case the cerclage wire or thread tears off.
Prosthetic devices to improve joint mechanics in arthroplasty
Disclosed herein is a kit that includes a humeral stem having a central longitudinal axis, the humeral stem configured to attach to a resected bone; a first tuberosity component having a first thickness relative to the central longitudinal axis of the humeral stem; a second tuberosity component having a second thickness relative to the central longitudinal axis of the humeral stem, wherein the first thickness of the first tuberosity component is different than the second thickness of the second tuberosity component; and at least one proximal segment configured to engage at least one of the first tuberosity component and the second tuberosity component. In an embodiment, the first thickness of the first tuberosity component is at least 20 mm relative to the central axis of the humeral stem, and the second thickness of the second tuberosity component is at least 20 mm relative to the central axis of the humeral stem.
ANCHOR APPARATUS
An anchor for anchoring tensile members to bone includes: a housing extending along a central axis, with a hollow interior; a collet in the hollow interior having a central bore for accepting tensile members and an exterior surface, the collet being configured to swage around and against tensile members; a sleeve having a peripheral wall defining interior and exterior surfaces, the sleeve disposed in the housing's hollow interior axially adjacent to the collet, and movable parallel to the central axis between first and second positions; and wherein at least one of the collet exterior surface and the sleeve interior surface is tapered and the sleeve and the collet are arranged so movement of the sleeve from the first position to the second position causes the sleeve interior surface to bear against the collet exterior surface, causing the collet to swage radially inwards around and against one or more tensile members.

DEVICE FOR AND METHOD OF TREATING ACROMIOCLAVICULAR JOINT DISLOCATIONS
A device that allows for the predictable/guided anatomic drilling of clavicular tunnels for graft, suture, or combined graft/suture reconstruction of the AC joint is provided. The device simultaneously allows for larger clavicle tunnels which permit graft passage while providing protection, via stress shielding, of the bone between and adjacent to the bone tunnels. In this way, the surgeon is able to utilize anatomically placed clavicular tunnels large enough for graft passage (which reduces the mechanical failure rate of the reconstruction and most closely replicates normal anatomy) while reducing the risk of clavicle fracture, which has plagued other “anatomic reconstruction” techniques.
BONE FIXATION SYSTEM WITH OPPOSED MOUNTING PORTIONS
System, including methods, apparatus, and kits, for bone fixation using a fixation device including a mounting portion and a fastener that attaches to the mounting portion. In some embodiments, the fixation device may include first and second mounting portions configured to be disposed across a bone from each other and secured with a fastener that extends from one of the mounting portions, through the bone, and to the other mounting portion. The system also may include a tool to facilitate installation of the fixation device.
WIRE PASSER SYSTEM AND METHOD
A wire passer system for passing a surgical wire around a bone. The wire passer system broadly comprises a gun assembly, a flexible push member, and a surgical wire. The gun assembly can comprise a handle, a trigger, a rigid guide section, a support guide, a push rod, and tensioner.
DIRECT ANTERIOR HIP REPLACEMENT TROCHANTER SECUREMENT APPARATUS
A direct anterior hip replacement trochanter securement apparatus including a trochanter engager, an implant connector configured to securely connect the trochanter engager to an implant in a femur, and a trochanter engager securer configured to securely hold part of the trochanter engager at a point along the femur below the trochanter.
Deformable fastener system
The guidance and positioning device may be a system for creating a passage in tissue, positioning fasteners or other implants, and tensioning an elongated fastening member, like a suture, thread, wire, or pin. In some embodiments, the device may allow for the implantation of multiple sutures and fasteners in tissue. A fastener may be positioned at the distal end of a flexible pushrod. The fastener may be connected with the pushrod or may be loosely fitted with the distal end of the pushrod. A suture may be looped through or connected with the fastener such that one, two, or more sections, legs, strands, or portions of the suture extend from the fastener.
CABLE PASSER DEVICE
The present invention discloses a cable passer device and method for placement of a cerclage cable for internal fixation of bone. The device comprises a cannulated body including a proximal end, a straight portion, an arcuate portion, and a distal end. The straight portion extends from the proximal end, and the arcuate portion extends from the straight portion and ends at the distal end of the cannulated body. A continuous groove extends from the proximal end to the distal end through the straight portion and the arcuate portion of the cannulated body. The groove extends radially along an internal diameter of the cannulated body. An opening of the groove facilitates to receive the cerclage cable therein. The width of the opening remains the same throughout an entire length of the continuous groove. The groove includes varying angle to facilitate unimpeded movement of cerclage cable therethrough.
