Filling systems for bone delivery devices
A filling system for delivery of at least one substance to a covering is provided. The filling system comprises at least a funnel shaped container and a plunger. The funnel shaped container includes a scoop portion connected to a hollow barrel. The barrel is configured for insertion into the covering, the plunger adapted for pushing the at least one substance down the hollow barrel into the covering. The filling system can also include a spatula. A kit including a funnel shaped container, a plunger adapted to push a substance down the barrel of the funnel shaped container, a spatula, a retainer for keeping the kit elements in place and trays for protecting them from the environment are also provided. A method of use utilizing the filling system is also provided.
BONE CEMENT MIXING AND DELIVERY DEVICE
A bone cement mixing and delivery device includes a shaft extending along an axis from a first end to a second end and including a passageway. The first end includes an adapter having a first opening that is in communication with the passageway. The second end includes a second opening that is in communication with the passageway. The shaft includes a mixing portion between the first and second ends. A connector includes a central portion that that is coupled to the adapter. The central portion includes a channel that is in communication with the first opening. The connector includes first and second ports that extend from the central portion. The first port includes a first lumen that is in communication with the channel. The second port includes a second lumen that is in communication with the channel. Methods of use are disclosed.
Vacuum indicator system that avoid release without the proper vacuum level
A device for storing and mixing bone cement components. The device includes a housing, a safety device, and a vacuum indicator. The housing defines a mixing chamber configured to store a first bone cement component therein. In a first safety position, the safety device prevents contact between the first bone cement component and a second bone cement component in the mixing chamber. In a second safety position, the safety device permits contact between the first and second bone cement components in the mixing chamber. The vacuum indicator restricts movement of the safety device from the first safety position to the second safety position when in a first vacuum indicator position. The vacuum indicator permits movement of the safety device from the first safety position to the second safety position when in a second vacuum indicator position.
METHODS OF FILLING BONE USING BONE CEMENT MIXING AND DELIVERY DEVICES
Methods of filling bone cavities are provided. The methods use a bone cement mixing and delivery device that includes a shaft extending along an axis from a first end to a second end and including a passageway. The first end includes an adapter having a first opening that is in communication with the passageway. The second end includes a second opening that is in communication with the passageway. The shaft includes a mixing portion between the first and second ends. A connector includes a central portion that that is coupled to the adapter. The central portion includes a channel that is in communication with the first opening. The connector includes first and second ports that extend from the central portion. The first port includes a first lumen that is in communication with the channel. The second port includes a second lumen that is in communication with the channel.
APPARATUS FOR MIXING BONE CEMENT
An apparatus for mixing bone cement can comprise a receiving chamber, a mixing chamber, a cannula, a base, and a piston located within the mixing chamber. The receiving chamber defining a conduit. The mixing chamber in fluid communication with the receiving chamber. The mixing chamber configured to house a first component of the bone cement. The cannula located in the receiving chamber and in fluid communication with the conduit. The base including a bladder arranged to be punctured by the cannula, the bladder configured to house a second component of the bone cement. Upon puncturing of the bladder by the cannula the second component of the bone cement passes through the conduit and the cannula into the mixing chamber. The piston configured to seal the mixing chamber upon movement of the piston from a first position relative to the conduit to a second position relative to the conduit.
Robotic arthroplasty system
A robotic surgical system is provided. The robotic surgical system includes a robotic mechanism having a force transmitting member and a computer connected with the robotic mechanism. The robotic surgical system also includes an optical sensing system connected with the computer, at least one navigation member configured to couple to one or more tissues of a patient, and a tool suitable for use in resecting at least a portion of a first bone of a joint in a patient and at least a portion of a second bone of the joint in the patient.

A device includes a balloon catheter comprising at least one inner lumen incorporated within an elongated shaft; a distal end having an inner balloon positioned inside and completely surrounded by an outer balloon; and a proximal end having an adapter for passage of at least one of an inflation fluid or a medical instrument; and an optical fiber comprising an outer diameter sized to pass through the inner lumen of the elongated shaft; a nonlinear light-emitting portion of a given length, wherein a portion of a cladding material from the nonlinear light-emitting portion has been removed so that light energy may be emitted along the length of the nonlinear light-emitting portion; and a linear elongated portion for guiding light towards the nonlinear light-emitting portion.
Double threaded guidance or stiffening wire for multiple use vertebral augmentation (VA) balloon
A catheter device that includes a double-threaded guidance wire that allows multiple use of a compliant cavity creation device (i.e., treatment of more than one level). The double-threaded guidance wire may be connected with the luer part of the device and a distal part of the balloon using a threaded engagement to avoid lengthening of the inner tube, avoid lengthening of the balloon, and to limit the plastic deformation of the system in axial direction. In other implementations, the double-threaded guidance wire may be reconnected to the distal part of the balloon with a distal thread of the double-threaded guidance wire in order to restore the nominal length.
Bone cement applicator
A bone cement applicator for applying a bone cement to a bone surface is provided. The bone cement applicator includes a bone cement receiver, a first housing and a second housing. The bone cement receiver has a first opening to be connected with a bone cement supplier supplying the bone cement. The first housing is connected with the bone cement receiver. The second housing is connected with the first housing. A cavity is formed between the first housing and the second housing. The cavity is in fluid communication with the first opening. The second housing includes a contact surface and a plurality of holes. The contact surface is in contact with the bone surface. The holes are located on the contact surface, in which the bone cement reaches the bone surface after sequentially flowing through the first opening, the cavity, and the holes.
BONE GRAFT DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING SAME
A bone graft delivery system can include an elongate tube, a handle having a trigger, and a tip. The trigger is actuated to deliver bone graft material through the tube. The tip has one or more openings to deliver the bone graft material to a desired location and includes a surface suitable to act as a rasp for decorticating bone. A method for delivering bone graft material to a desired surgical location includes providing a bone graft delivery device, positioning the device adjacent the surgical location, decorticating bone, and delivering bone graft material to the surgical location.
