Tool for cutting or crimping cable in a medical procedure
Disclosed herein is a tool for cutting or crimping a tensioned cable in a medical procedure. The tool comprises a cable forming assembly that is coupled with an inner shaft. The cable forming assembly comprises a cable former. The tool additionally comprises a central channel, which extends through the inner shaft, an outer tube within which the inner shaft is positioned, and the cable forming assembly along an entire length of each one of the inner shaft, the outer tube, and the cable forming assembly. The central channel is configured to receive and support the tensioned cable in-line with the tool. The cable former is actuatable to cut or crimp the tensioned cable when the tensioned cable passes through the central channel. Translational movement of the outer tube along the inner shaft in an engagement direction actuates the cable former to cut or crimp the tensioned cable.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BONE FIXATION
A fracture fixation system includes a connector having a proximal connecting end for connecting to a first end of a cord configured to extend around a bone to provide fixation to a fracture of the bone. The connector includes a distal connecting end opposite the connector relative to the proximal end for attaching to a second end of the cord extending around the bone. The proximal connecting end includes a proximal lock member, a distal lock member and a medial lock member between the proximal lock member and the distal lock member. The proximal lock member is located at a bottom of the proximal connecting end and the medial lock member is located at a top of the proximal connecting end.
Bone closure assembly
A bone closure assembly that includes a buckle and a strap having a first end fixedly attached to the buckle. The strap is configured for looping around bone portions. The bone closure assembly also includes a locking cap removably connected to the buckle. The locking cap is configured for securing the strap within the buckle to secure the bone portions together.
TENSION BAND SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A bone fixation assembly may include an elongate fixation member and a flexible tensioning element. The elongate fixation member may include a central longitudinal axis, a distal portion couplable to a first bone fragment of a bone, and a proximal portion couplable to a second bone fragment of the bone to provide fixation of the second bone fragment relative to the first bone fragment. The flexible tensioning element may be couplable to the proximal and distal portions of the elongate fixation member to secure the elongate fixation member to the bone. The flexible tensioning element may be configured to span a bone fracture intermediate the first bone fragment and the second bone fragment to preload the bone fracture in compression to resist tensile force imparted across the bone fracture, thereby maintaining fixation of the first bone fragment relative to the second bone fragment.
PERIPROSTHETIC HIP FRACTURE CABLING SYSTEM
An improved fracture cabling system has one or more spacers. Each spacer has a longitudinal length extending along a body of the spacer. The body has an upper portion with an aperture configured to receive a wire or cable and a lower portion having one or more pairs of feet spaced by a longitudinal gap or groove. Each of the one or more pairs of feet is located on a lateral side of the spacer body and configured to contact a bone with a fracture. The gap is configured to be positioned over the fracture with each foot positioned on a side of the bone spaced from the fracture. The longitudinal length of the one or more spacers is preferably curved or arcuate. Each body of the one or more spacers has a leading end and a trailing end.
Transosseous Guide And Method
Instruments and methods for surgical transosseous attachment to a bone include a guide able to guide the formation of intersecting bone tunnels and a passer able to pass a member through the bone tunnels.
Compression fixation system
A compression fastener system includes an elongate generally rigid coupling component, a toggle anchor at the distal end of the coupling component that can pivot about 90 degrees between inline and out of line with the coupling component, and a generally cylindrical collet that is engageable with a surface of the coupling component, and having two or more legs that splay upon passage of the coupling component through the collet, at least one leg having a cutting edge along at least a portion of its length that can engage with an adjacent rigid element, such as bone, to fix the rigid coupling component, toggle anchor and collet assembly into compression with the rigid element.
TOOL QUICK-CHANGE SET FOR MEDICAL HAND-HELD MACHINE TOOL
The present invention relates to a connection set for connecting a tool to a hand-held machine tool, which consists of, or comprises, a receptacle and an insert. The receptacle is designed provided and/or suitable to be fastened to a machine tool and to receive an insert. The insert is designed, provided and/or suitable for being fastened to the tool and for being releasably, at least in sections, inserted into the receptacle. In this, both the receptacle and the insert are continuous in the longitudinal direction and circumscribe each a lumen. Furthermore, the receptacle comprises one or several stationary pins projecting from an inner wall into the lumen and one or several movable pins. The outside of the insert comprises one or several guides, which are provided, designed or suitable for guiding the pins along the outside of the insert when inserting the insert into the lumen of the receptacle.
PEDICLE ANCHOR FOR USE IN TRANSLAMINAR PEDICLE ANCHOR SUSPENSION SYSTEM AND COMPONENT SET THEREOF
A two-piece suspension pedicle anchor and its system and component-set is disclosed. The two-piece suspension pedicle anchor comprises a proximal piece and a distal piece that can rotate relatively. An external thread is arranged on the outer surface of the proximal piece, and a transverse through hole for an artificial ligament to pass through is arranged at the distal piece. As the two-piece suspension pedicle anchor is rotated and gradually locked into the bone, only the proximal piece is rotated, and the distal piece with the artificial ligament is pushed down but not rotated; in addition, the artificial ligament will be brought into the bone along with the distal piece and sandwiched between the outer surface of the proximal piece and the bone, that is, the artificial ligament will be sandwiched and fixed between the anchor-bone interface without wrapping around the outer surface of the proximal piece.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR STABILIZING TISSUE AND IMPLANTS
An implant for repairing a joint between a first bone and a second bone includes a first section constructed of a substantially rigid material and a graft constructed of soft tissue having a first end and a second end. The first section has a first end surface configured for positioning against the first bone. The graft is configured for stabilizing the first section relative to the first bone. A first fastener is configured for mounting to the graft and the first section to anchor the graft to the first section. A second fastener is configured for mounting to the graft and the first bone to anchor the graft to the first bone.
