INSERTION TOOL FOR FLIP ANCHOR CABLE SYSTEM INSERTION
An insertion tool for deploying a flip anchor cable, including: a mechanism having a safety button and a slider, wherein the mechanism is configured to apply a clamping force on a portion of the flip anchor cable when the mechanism is in a first position; an inner tube having a proximal end connected to the mechanism configured to house a second portion of the flip anchor cable; a handle including a safety button opening and a slider opening, wherein the handle is configured to enclose a portion of the mechanism; and an outer tube having a proximal end connected to the handle configured to receive the inner tube; wherein the mechanism is configured to decrease the clamping force on the flip anchor cable when the mechanism is in a second position and to deploy a flip anchor of the flip anchor cable in the second position.
BONE TIE AND BONE TIE INSERTER
Various embodiments of bone ties, bone tie inserters, and methods for treating the spine are provided. The bone tie can include a proximal end and a distal end. The bone tie can include a head section comprising a rounded head. The bone tie can include a neck section extending proximally from the head section. A bone tie inserter for placing a bone tie can also be provided. The bone tie inserter can include a bone tie advancer with a curved surface configured to guide a rounded head of a bone tie. The bone tie inserter can include a bone tie retriever configured to receive the rounded head of a bone tie. The bone tie is configured to pivot and/or rotate within the retriever portion of the bone tie inserter. The method can include forming a lumen in a first bone portion and a second bone portion. The bone tie can be configured to pivot and/or rotate as the bone tie retriever is withdrawn.
Long-nosed crimp pliers for use in orthopedics
Cable and crimp assembly kits for fixing bone fractures include long-nose crimp pliers that have a pair of operating handles and connected opposed long jaws. The long jaws are designed to hold and crush a wire crimp. The jaws are long and narrow enough to be able to insert and crush a crimp through a small incision, such as used by a known wire passer tool, at a deeply located bone without spreading or opening wider the small incision. The long-nosed pliers can be used with a crimp alone or with a crimp and an intermediate part that provisionally holds a tension applied to an associated cable or wire.
Circular bone tunneling device employing a stabilizing element
The present invention provides a circular bone tunneling device, comprising: a hollow elongate body comprising a hollow elongate body head, said hollow elongate body head defining a rigid circular arc, comprising a surgical needle; an extendable and retractable support element, reconfigurable from an extended configuration to a retracted configuration; said support element, in said extended configuration, adapted to be located along said path formed by said rigid circular arc; said support element and said hollow elongate body head are adapted to grasp said bone from at least two points along the circumference of said bone; a stabilizing element.
Tensioning devices and methods for dynamic suture systems
A system for repairing separated body tissues includes a tensioning device comprising two proximal handles for grasping, a pair of movable distal tensioning tips, a pivot between the proximal handle and distal tensioning tips, and suture holding clamps proximal to the tensioning tips. The tensioning device is used in conjunction with a buckle with lock bars and a tensioning tab for securing and tensioning suture. The tensioning tab is provided to secure the lock bar in its first position until tension on the suture exceeds a predetermined level.
TENSION BAND SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A bone fixation assembly may include an elongate fixation member and a flexible tensioning element. The elongate fixation member may include a central longitudinal axis, a distal portion couplable to a first bone fragment of a bone, and a proximal portion couplable to a second bone fragment of the bone to provide fixation of the second bone fragment relative to the first bone fragment. The flexible tensioning element may be couplable to the proximal and distal portions of the elongate fixation member to secure the elongate fixation member to the bone. The flexible tensioning element may be configured to span a bone fracture intermediate the first bone fragment and the second bone fragment to preload the bone fracture in compression to resist tensile force imparted across the bone fracture, thereby maintaining fixation of the first bone fragment relative to the second bone fragment.
Surgical Method of Stabilizing Bone or Joint Fracture Using Flexible Line
A surgical method for stabilizing a fractured bone, comprises optionally realigning two portions of the bone impacted by the fracture, followed by drilling a hole through at least the first portion of bone and preferably the second portion of bone across the interface defined by the fracture. A flexible thread is threaded forward through the hole and a rear section of the thread anchored to the first portion of bone. The thread is pulled taut, holding the first bone portion relative to the second bone portion in a healing position. With the thread taut, a front section of the thread is anchored relative to the bone, thereby maintaining the first bone portion and second bone portion in the healing position.
SURGICAL CLAMP FOR LAPIDUS BUNION SURGERY
Apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed for a surgical clamp for Lapidus bunion surgery. A surgical clamp has handles disposed at opposing branches of a surgical clamp. A hinge is disposed at an intersection of the opposing branches about which the opposing branches pivot. A first gripper is disposed at a distal portion of the first opposing branch and is shaped to hook around and grip a neck of a first metatarsal. A second gripper is disposed at a distal portion of the second opposing branch and is shaped to hook around and grip a neck of a different metatarsal. The grippers extend at a non-zero angle away from the opposing branches. A lock extends between the opposing branches and selectively fixes a relative position of the opposing branches so that the grippers selectively hold a position of the first metatarsal relative to the different metatarsal.
BONE FIXATION IMPLANT AND MEANS OF FIXATION
An implant for osteosynthesis which can be used to repair fractures and or fuse joints. The implant comprises one or more through holes for the passage of one or more sutures therethrough and or one or more sutures may be an integral part of the implant. The one or more sutures may be used to pull bone segments together and create compression therebetween and or to affix soft tissue to a bone segment.
Sternal closure cerclage, plate implant and instrumentation
A system including a bone punch tool and a needle guide. The bone punch tool can include a support arm having a support arm proximal portion and a support arm distal portion, a pivot arm having a pivot arm proximal portion and a pivot arm distal portion, and an arcuate punch configured to punch through bone. The pivot arm distal portion can be pivotably coupled to the support arm distal portion, such that the pivot arm proximal portion is configured to be moved away from the support arm proximal portion to extend the arcuate punch into a punch position to punch an arcuate hole through bone. The needle guide can be configured to guide a needle through the arcuate hole.
