SURGICAL GUIDANCE DEVICE
Briefly, the invention relates to a surgical tool and method for forming a pilot bore by inserting a guide wire into bone. The surgical tool is constructed and arranged for use in conjunction with X-ray or ultrasound machines. More particularly, the device includes a cannulated hand grip and driving tool used for the rotation of a bone or pedicle screw into bone. The rear portion of the hand grip includes a slide assembly that is suited to grip a guide wire. The slide assembly includes a user adjustable stop to control the sliding movement of the guide wire. The rear surface of the slide is constructed to be impacted with a hammer or similar device, whereby the stop prevents the guide wire from penetrating the bone further than desired. Should it be desired that the wire be retracted, a jack member is included to allow the wire to be precisely retracted. The hand grip is securable to various surgical driving tools for the purpose of providing the ability to cooperate with various brands of pedicle screws and other surgical implants for spinal procedures.
DIRECT ANTERIOR HIP REPLACEMENT TROCHANTER SECUREMENT APPARATUS
A direct anterior hip replacement trochanter securement apparatus including a trochanter engager, an implant connector configured to securely connect the trochanter engager to an implant in a femur, and a trochanter engager securer configured to securely hold part of the trochanter engager at a point along the femur below the trochanter.
Surgical methods for the treatment of plantar plate injury
A method for the treatment of plantar plate injury including insertion of at least one suture anchor into a bone opening and anchoring the at least one suture anchor and thereafter threading two ends of a suture of at least one anchored suture anchor through the plantar plate and pulling the plantar plate to the bone with the opening and fix the soft tissue to that bone by tying a knot in the suture.
Deformable fastener system
The guidance and positioning device may be a system for creating a passage in tissue, positioning fasteners or other implants, and tensioning an elongated fastening member, like a suture, thread, wire, or pin. In some embodiments, the device may allow for the implantation of multiple sutures and fasteners in tissue. A fastener may be positioned at the distal end of a flexible pushrod. The fastener may be connected with the pushrod or may be loosely fitted with the distal end of the pushrod. A suture may be looped through or connected with the fastener such that one, two, or more sections, legs, strands, or portions of the suture extend from the fastener.
CABLE PASSER DEVICE
The present invention discloses a cable passer device and method for placement of a cerclage cable for internal fixation of bone. The device comprises a cannulated body including a proximal end, a straight portion, an arcuate portion, and a distal end. The straight portion extends from the proximal end, and the arcuate portion extends from the straight portion and ends at the distal end of the cannulated body. A continuous groove extends from the proximal end to the distal end through the straight portion and the arcuate portion of the cannulated body. The groove extends radially along an internal diameter of the cannulated body. An opening of the groove facilitates to receive the cerclage cable therein. The width of the opening remains the same throughout an entire length of the continuous groove. The groove includes varying angle to facilitate unimpeded movement of cerclage cable therethrough.
Sternum fixation devices and methods
A sternum fixation device includes a plate having a first end and a second end, a right lateral edge and a left lateral edge, an inner side configured for placement against the sternum, and an outer side. A first lobe includes a band socket defined as a blind recess in the outer side of the plate. The band socket includes a right lateral stop and a left lateral stop opposite the right lateral stop. A right lateral channel is defined in the first lobe from the right lateral edge to the band socket, the right lateral channel defined above a right side floor in the socket. A left lateral channel opposite the right lateral channel is defined in the first lobe from the left lateral edge to the band socket, the left lateral channel defined above a left floor in the socket.
PATIENT SPECIFIC INSTRUMENT (PSI) METHOD & DEVICE FOR PERCUTANEOUS FIXATION OF FRACTURES
This invention is a patient-specific surgical guide for percutaneous fixation of fractures designed for detection of the point of insertion, direction and angle of metal-ware (wires, screws, plates or nails). The patient-specific surgical guide seated on a bony landmark, the interior surface of the guide matches the surface anatomy of bones and fit in a single secure position for the reduction of bony or joint displacement and to insert wires or metal ware in bone and joints without need for fluoroscopic imaging. The guide comprising of a flying arc (3) with pointed introducers (1, 2) at its ends, detachable rods (27,28) and trajectory sleeves (6, 7, 24). The size and shape of the guide modified according to the nature of the anatomy of the percutaneous of bone and joints in these regions of displaced fractures of clavicle, proximal humerus, distal humerus, proximal radius and ulna, distal radius and ulna, hand bones, clavicle, patella distal fibula, medial malleolus, spine and feet bones.
MEDICAL FIXATION DEVICE FOR POLYMER CABLES
Disclosed are cable fixation devices. The fixation devices are configured to keep tension in a polymer cable to secure a fracture or for other medical uses. In an embodiment, a fixation device for securing a fracture comprises a body and a piercing element, wherein the fixation device is configured to pierce a polymer cable arranged in the body by engaging the piercing element. In an embodiment, the fixation device further comprises a retensioning member, which may be operated to increase tension in the polymer cable after the polymer has been pierced by the piecing element. In an embodiment, the polymer cable comprises a braid or a yarn.
BONE FIXATION SYSTEM
A system and method for osseous fixation is a surgical hardware device that allows bone fixation for purposes of fracture repair, arthrodesis, or other types of orthopedic applications. A partially threaded wire or pin is inserted into the bone and external compression and rotational stability are achieved with a locking cap. The locking cap may include serrations or other anti-rotation features which engage bone to provide rotational stability. Upon adequate bone healing, the external cap may be used to facilitate removal of the wire/pin from the bone.
BONE TIE AND BONE TIE INSERTER
Various embodiments of bone ties, bone tie inserters, and methods for treating the spine are provided. The bone tie can include a proximal end and a distal end. The bone tie can include a head section comprising a rounded head. The bone tie can include a neck section extending proximally from the head section. A bone tie inserter for placing a bone tie can also be provided. The bone tie inserter can include a bone tie advancer with a curved surface configured to guide a rounded head of a bone tie. The bone tie inserter can include a bone tie retriever configured to receive the rounded head of a bone tie.
