A second side of the rod bender may include a fourth roller adjacent the distal end, a fifth roller adjacent the distal end, and a sixth roller disposed between the fourth roller and the fifth roller. The first side may be configured apply a first mechanical advantage to bend a rod and the second side may be configured to apply a second mechanical advantage to bend a rod.

SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR DESIGNING AND FORMING A SURGICAL IMPLANT
20230047218 · 2023-02-16 ·

A method is provided for determining the shape of a surgical linking device that is to be attached to a bony body structure such as the spinal column based on digitized locations of a plurality of attachment elements engaged to the bony structure. The method is implemented by a computer system through a GUI to generate an initial bend curve to mate with the plurality of attachment elements. The initial bend curve may be simplified based on user input to the GUI to reduce the number of bends necessary to produce a well-fitting linking device and may be altered to help obtain the goals of surgery.

FRACTURE FIXATION PLATE AND SYSTEM

A plate for fracture fixation is provided including a plurality of individually adjustable heads and various features to achieve: a.) superior fixation of the plate to osteoporotic diaphyseal bone; b.) improved visualization of the fracture line; c.) intraoperative adjustability to achieve better contact of the plate and the bone; d.) reduced risk of post-surgery tendon rupture; d.) improved fixation of small volar marginal fragments and, e.) improved targeting and fixing of particular fractured bone fragments.

Internal pelvic fixator

A system and method for internal pelvic fixation. Guide wires can be inserted through guides and opposing sides of a pelvic bone, and can indicate a depth for driving bone screws into the pelvic bone. Offset rod tools positioned about each guide can assist in determining an offset distance between an implant rod and the pelvic bone. A template rod may be coupled to the offset rod tools and used to select a length for the implant rod. Clamps can be coupled to the bone screws, the clamps having multiple axes of rotation, the angular positions of the clamps being secured by the tightening of a single nut of each clamp. Joysticks used to tighten the nuts can be coupled to a reduction holder mechanism that can decrease at least an axial distance between the clamps, and thus pelvic bones, before locking of the clamps via tightening of the nuts.

Sizer, introducer and template device

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to a Sizer, Introducer, and Cutting Template Device. Embodiments find particular use as a sizer, introducer, and cutting template device for an orbital floor implant surgery. The disclosed device allows a surgeon or other practitioner to use a single component for sizing, introducing, and cutting a template for an orbital floor implant.

Bone closure assembly

A bone closure assembly that includes a buckle and a strap having a first end fixedly attached to the buckle. The strap is configured for looping around bone portions. The bone closure assembly also includes a locking cap removably connected to the buckle. The locking cap is configured for securing the strap within the buckle to secure the bone portions together.

METHOD FOR DESIGNING A PAIR OF CONNECTION RODS INTENDED TO BE IMPLANTED ON THE SPINE OF A PATIENT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH A ROD
20230088477 · 2023-03-23 ·

A method of designing a pair of fixation rods for implantation on a patient's spine includes: modelling the spine: determining a corrected vertebrae position; modelling the corrected spine by: realigning the vertebrae in the frontal plane, rotating the sacral plateau in the sagittal plane, modifying angulation in the sagittal plane between the adjacent plates of the discs, changing angulation between one or two vertebrae in the sagittal plane, and modifying the height of each disc; calculating a point cloud passing through the centers of the vertebral bodies; deducing two point clouds on either side of the first, spaced in the frontal plane by the width of the vertebra multiplied by X, and located in the sagittal plane at a distance equivalent to the depth of the vertebra in the sagittal plane multiplied by Y, X and Y being a function of the instrumentation connecting the rod to the spine.

BONE PLATE, BONE PLATE SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME

A bone plate comprises a plate body and at least one tab. The plate body defines an inner body surface configured to face an underlying bone, an outer body surface opposite the inner body surface, and an outer side surface that extends between the inner body surface and the outer body surface. The outer side surface defines an outer perimeter of the plate body. The at least one tab includes a head and an arm that extends from the plate body to the head. The tab defines a tab aperture that extends through the head and is configured to receive a bone anchor. The bone anchor can be coupled with a screw hole in the nail. The arm is configured to deflect with respect to the plate body so as to move the head between a pre-fixation position and a fixation position spaced from the pre-fixation position.

Methods and templates for shaping patient-specific anatomical-fixation implants

In one embodiment, an anatomical implant template has a template body having opposed first and second terminal ends. The template body bends so as to change the body from a first configuration, whereby the body extends from the first terminal end to the second terminal end along a first path, to a second configuration, whereby the body extends from the first terminal end to the second terminal end along a second path, different from the first path, the second path conforming more closely to the curvature of the at least one anatomical body. The body supports at least one device that outputs at least one signal from which a shape of the body in the second configuration can be ascertained. The anatomical implant template can further communicate the at least one signal to a computing device that generates signals for bending an anatomical implant.
