Spinal Surgery Navigation
20230200914 · 2023-06-29 ·

A system for aiding surgery on a patient is described including a display device and a storage device that stores an image of at least a portion of the anatomy of the patient, including one or more surgical navigation markers positioned on the patient, for display on the display device. An analyser is adapted to receive positional data of a probe based on positioning of the probe relative to the one or more markers on the patient. Based on the positional data, the analyser outputs correctional data to adjust an alignment of the image on the display device to match locations of said one or more markers.

MODULAR SPINE STABILIZATION SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED INSTRUMENTS

An implantable, modular spine stabilization system that allows for multi-level treatment of the spine by providing either rigid fixation or dynamic stabilization at different levels to be treated is provided. This modular spine stabilization system may be configured to span multiple spine levels, and have a curvature that closely matches the curvature of the spine over those multiple levels to be treated. Further, the modular spine stabilization system allows adjustment of the curvature of the overall system such that the system may be adapted for a patient for a customized fit. Instruments are also provided for the assembly and/or implantation of the modular spine stabilization system. The associated instruments may include instruments for adjusting the curvature of the system to the patient, and for implanting the curved system into the patient. The instruments may be configured for implantation of the system in a minimally invasive surgery.

Systems and Methods for Planning, Performing, and Assessing Spinal Correction During Surgery

A method is provided for correcting a curvature or deformity in a patient's spine based on the digitized locations of implanted screws and tracking the placement of the rod as it is placed in a minimally invasive fashion. The method is implemented by a control unit through a GUI to digitize screw locations, accept one or more correction outputs, and generate one or more rod solution outputs shaped to fit at locations distinct from the implanted screw locations.

SURGICAL BENDING INSTRUMENT
20230200809 · 2023-06-29 · ·

An apparatus and a method are provided for a surgical bending instrument for bending surgical implants. The surgical bending instrument comprises a body including a longitudinally extending threaded hole. A shaft comprising a threaded portion is rotatably engaged within the threaded hole. A handle is coupled to a proximal end of the shaft, and a distal extension of the shaft comprises a driver. A distal force applicator comprises the driver centered between a first grip and a second grip. In some embodiments, the distal force applicator is configured to retain a surgical staple, such that the surgical staple may be changed to a distracted configuration suitable for implantation at a bone fixation or fusion site of a patient. In some embodiments, the distal force applicator is configured to bend a bone fusion plate so as to tailor the plate to specific anatomy of the patient's bone.

MEDICAL INSTRUMENTATION

The invention relates to a medical instrumentation, comprising a hand-held, integrated, medical navigation system which comprises an optical detection unit having a camera, a data processing unit and an optical display unit, the data processing unit being coupled to the detection unit and the display unit, it being possible for location and/or orientation data of a medical marking device which is detectable with the detection unit to be processed by the data processing unit and information relating thereto to be represented on the display unit, the instrumentation comprising an illumination unit with which light is emittable in the direction of the marking device detectable with the detection unit.

SHAPER FOR VERTEBRAL FIXATION RODS
20170360493 · 2017-12-21 ·

A system for rod bending for use in robotic spinal surgery, enabling the correct bending of a fusion rod to match the shape required to accurately pass through the heads of the pedicle screws. The system uses data generated by information provided to the robot by the surgeon's preoperative plan, optionally augmented by feedback from the robot control system of deviations encountered intraoperatively. Such deviations could occur, for example, when the surgeon decides intraoperatively on a different trajectory or even to skip screws on one vertebra, in which case, the robot will be commanded to perform the alternative procedure, with commensurate instructions relayed to the control system of the rod-bending machine. The system is also able to thin down the rod at predetermined locations along its length, adapted to be at selected intervertebral locations, for maintaining limited flexibility between vertebrae, instead of fixating them.

JOINT FUSION SYSTEMS AND DEVICES

A device for bending joint fusion plates to a precise degree of bend, and methods of using same. The bender has three pressure points, two that sit under the plate and one above, and compressing the handle will bend the plate to a desired degree as there is a stop point that can be set by the user for the degree of bend. The bender allows the surgeon to bend the plate prior to surgery, thus avoiding having to bend the plate during the surgery as in current practice. Kits and systems are also provided.

Surgical cutting block

A surgical cutting block according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a block body including a top surface having a first thickness that extends between a first surface and an opposing second surface of the block body and a capture disposed at the top surface. The capture includes a second thickness that is less than the first thickness of the top surface.

Instrument for use in bending surgical devices

A system for bending a surgical device is disclosed in which the system may include a bending apparatus having a housing with a series of posts received therein. In some embodiments, one of the series of posts may be selectively movable within an elongate slot in the housing, while another of the series of posts may be circumferentially movable. Movement of the circumferentially movable post may serve to bend a surgical device about at least one of the other remaining posts. A tool may also be provided with the system for interacting with a lever and causing the circumferentially movable post to move circumferentially. An alternate apparatus for bending a surgical device is also disclosed, as are methods of bending a surgical device using the aforementioned system.
