According to some embodiments, an implant for correcting a deformity in or near a joint of a subject includes an implant body having an internal lumen, a suture side hole or window extending through a wall of the implant body and providing access to the internal lumen through an exterior of the implant body, a tension assembly comprising a first bone anchor and a second bone anchor, wherein the first and second bone anchors are configured to be placed on opposite sides of the implant body, and an adjustable suture loop coupling the first bone anchor to the second bone anchor, wherein at least a portion of the at least one adjustable suture loop is positioned within the internal lumen of the implant body.

MULTIPLE SUTURE THREADER AND METHODS OF USE

The disclosure provides apparatus and methods of use pertaining to a multiple suture threader. Embodiments of the multiple suture threader include a handle that is coupled with a first collapsible loop and a second collapsible loop that is axially offset from the first collapsible loop. In use, one or more sutures are doubled over each of the first and the second collapsible loops such that when the axially spaced loops are passed through a narrow axial passage of a surgical implant, a surgical instrument, or a bodily passage such as a bone tunnel, a twenty-five to fifty percent reduction in suture traffic, or in the maximum number of suture thicknesses that simultaneously pass through the narrow passage, is achieved. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A clamp assembly for orthopedic use having a housing that includes a top surface, a recess, a distal base and a bottom surface, the recess defining a longitudinal axis and extending through the housing from the top surface through the distal base and toward the bottom surface, and at least two through slots, each one of being disposed at a bottom or a side a surface of the housing. The assembly including a securement assembly positionable within the recess in a co-axial relationship to a mating surface on the recess, and a band sized for travel along a predetermined path defined in part by the through slots in the housing, wherein at least one of the through slots is a starting point for travel of the band along the predetermined path.

Sternal closure method

A system including a bone punch tool and a needle guide. The bone punch tool can include a support arm having a support arm proximal portion and a support arm distal portion, a pivot arm having a pivot arm proximal portion and a pivot arm distal portion, and an arcuate punch configured to punch through bone. The pivot arm distal portion can be pivotably coupled to the support arm distal portion, such that the pivot arm proximal portion is configured to be moved away from the support arm proximal portion to extend the arcuate punch into a punch position to punch an arcuate hole through bone. The needle guide can be configured to guide a needle through the arcuate hole.

Disclosed is a dynamically stabilizing intervertebral implant including a stabilizing wedge, a flexible link in the form of a strap, and a blocking pin. The body of the stabilizing wedge includes a recess extending along a longitudinal axis, coincident with the posterior approach axis, and through which the strap passes. The blocking pin can engage inside the recess by movement in the recess longitudinal direction. The strap is immobilized with respect to the stabilizing wedge by being clamped between the pin and the facing recess wall. An tubular implant holder has an internal channel through which the blocking pin can be inserted and guided as far as the recess, in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the recess, when the implant holder is fixed to the stabilizing wedge so the internal channel and the recess are in parallax relative to each other.

Surgical band clamp system

A system for securing a spinal rod to a bone structure using a connector is provided. The connector functions by modulating friction on a band in two band channels and locking the spinal rod in a separate rod channel. An instrument is also provided for tensioning the band.

Wire tensioner tip

A wire tensioner tip includes a body having a first extension and a second extension spaced apart to define a ring slot. An engagement body is disposed within the ring receiving slot. The engagement body includes one or more projections configured to engage an outer surface of a ring positioned within the ring receiving slot. A coupling element extends from the body and is configured to couple the body to a wire tensioner.

Surgical cord tensioning devices, systems, and methods

A system, a method, and instruments for manipulating a surgical cord into spinal implants to assist in correcting a spinal deformity are described. The system may include a tensioner, a tensioner extension, and a counter tensioner. One of the instruments can include an elongate body, a dual coupler, and a nose member. The elongate body has a flexible cylindrical member adapted to carry tension along a longitudinal axis, where the flexible cylindrical member is sized to receive a surgical cord through a lumen within the flexible cylindrical member. The dual coupler is disposed on a proximal end of the elongate body, and include a bore for receiving a nose portion of a tensioner and for guiding the surgical cord into the tensioner. The nose member is disposed on a distal end of the elongate body, and be adapted to discharge the surgical cord from the elongate body.
