SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES, AND METHODS FOR CORRECTING A BONE DEFECT
An implant having a unitary body includes an intramedullary portion and an extramedullary portion. The intramedullary portion is sized and structured to be received within an intramedullary canal of a first bone and defines a longitudinal axis. The extramedullary portion includes a surface defining an axis that is disposed at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis. An aperture defined along the extramedullary portion is sized and configured to receive a fastener therein for coupling the extramedullary portion of the implant to a second bone.
Prosthetic Implant Removal Tool and Associated Method
Disclosed is a tool and an associated method for removing a prosthetic implant. Although the tool can be used to remove a variety of different prosthetic implants, it finds particular application in the removal of femoral implants. In one embodiment, both lateral and medial tools are utilized. The lateral tool includes a generally arcuate shape with upstanding sidewalls that define an arcuate interior. The lateral tool is thus dimensioned to follow the contour of the lateral side of a femoral implant. The medial tool includes opposing side walls that define an interior opening. The opening is sized to receive the neck of the femoral implant, thereby allowing the tool to closely follow the medial bone/implant interface.
Prosthetic Implant Removal Tool and Associated Method
Disclosed is a tool and an associated method for removing a prosthetic implant. Although the tool can be used to remove a variety of different prosthetic implants, it finds particular application in the removal of femoral implants. In one embodiment, both lateral and medial tools are utilized. The lateral tool includes a generally arcuate shape with upstanding sidewalls that define an arcuate interior. Implant for sacroiliac joint fusion
An allograft implant for fusing a sacroiliac joint, the allograft implant having a body with two opposing faces. A graft window is disposed between the two opposing faces, the graft window providing passage through the body between the two opposing faces. A portion of the body located between the graft window and each of the sides defines a wall such that the wall maintains a minimum thickness in a range of about 17% to about 20% of the width of the body.
IMPACTOR
There is disclosed an orthopaedic impactor, comprising: a strike assembly arranged to impart a force to an object; and a winding arranged to receive a current and thereby generate a magnetic field. The winding is arranged to interact with the strike assembly so that, in use, a magnetic field generated by the winding causes the strike assembly to move so as to impart the force to the object.
IMPACTOR
There is disclosed an orthopaedic impactor, comprising: a strike assembly arranged to impart a force to an object; and a winding arranged to receive a current and thereby generate a magnetic field. The winding is arranged to interact with the strike assembly so that, in use, a magnetic field generated by the winding causes the strike assembly to move so as to impart the force to the object.
Electric motor driven tool for orthopedic impacting
An orthopedic impacting tool comprises a motor, an energy storage chamber, a striker, and an anvil. The motor stores energy in the energy storage chamber and then releases it, causing the striker to apply a controlled force on an adapter to create a precise impact for use in a surgical setting. The tool may further comprise a combination anvil and adapter. The tool further allows forward or backward impacting for expanding the size or volume of the opening or for facilitating removal of a broach, implant, or other surgical implement from the opening. An energy adjustment control of the tool allows a surgeon to increase or decrease the impact energy. A light source and hand grips improve ease of operation of the tool.

Instruments for knee placement
There are provided various embodiments of medical instruments to perform knee surgery. In one embodiment a finned platform for mounting a cutting block is provided. The finned platform can be used on either a femur or tibia to allow for the proper cuts when performing a knee surgery. In another embodiment, a tibial trial is shown having a fin. The fin is useful to reinforce the bone to reduce the risk of fracture during bone preparation. In another embodiment, a reamer is provided having a plurality of cutting flutes. It may be desirable to utilize a guide with the reamer to allow the reamer to cut a non-circular portion of the tibial bone. In yet another embodiment, a plurality of fixation pegs are provided on the tibial implant to allow for easy removal of such implant if a revision surgery becomes necessary.
Instruments for knee placement
There are provided various embodiments of medical instruments to perform knee surgery. In one embodiment a finned platform for mounting a cutting block is provided. The finned platform can be used on either a femur or tibia to allow for the proper cuts when performing a knee surgery. In another embodiment, a tibial trial is shown having a fin. The fin is useful to reinforce the bone to reduce the risk of fracture during bone preparation. In another embodiment, a reamer is provided having a plurality of cutting flutes.
