Apparatus, systems, and methods for delivering agents into a patient's body
Systems and methods are provided for imaging cardiac tissue using fluorescent dyes delivered into tissue. A distal end of an imaging device may be introduced into a chamber of the heart, and fluorescent dye may be delivered into one or more body lumens in the heart such that the dye is absorbed by cardiac tissue adjacent the chamber. Images of the cardiac tissue adjacent the chamber may be acquired using the imaging device, the dye enhancing identifying cardiac electrical activity within the cardiac tissue. Optionally, based on the identified cardiac electrical activity, tissue within the heart may be ablated or otherwise treated.
Systems, Devices, and Methods for Obstruction Retrieval and Treatment
Systems, devices, and methods for removing and/or treating obstructions in the vascular channels, such as blood clots, are provided. The systems may include a capture sock device including a shaft defining a lumen; and a mouth coupled to the shaft. The mouth includes a distal end portion defining a distal opening and is sized and configured to move between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration within a body channel. The mouth is formed of a mesh having porosity large enough to allow blood flow to pass through it but small enough to prevent an obstruction or a fragment of the obstruction from escaping from the mouth back into the body channel. In some embodiments, the mesh is folded to create at least two mesh layers at least at the distal opening to create a smooth atraumatic edge. In some embodiments, the system further includes a trap and/or retriever assembly.
INTRAVASCULAR DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS HAVING A CORE WIRE WITH EMBEDDED CONDUCTORS
Intravascular devices, systems, and methods are disclosed. In some instances, the intravascular device is a guide wire with electrical conductors embedded within a core wire. In some instances, the electrical conductors are coupled to conductive bands adjacent a proximal portion of the guide wire and a sensing element adjacent a distal portion of the guide wire. Methods of making, manufacturing, and/or assembling such intravascular devices and associated systems are also provided.
Integrated intraoperative diagnosis and thermal therapy system
A multimodal medical device for the diagnosis and/or thermal treatment of a disease includes an instrument for performing thermal therapy; and an imaging system having multiple tomographic imaging modes, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), ultrasound imaging, photoacoustic (PA) imaging, fluorescence imaging and/or thermal imaging to provide guidance for accurate diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
Catheter with multiple spines of different lengths arranged in one or more distal assemblies
A catheter having a distal assembly with multiple spines with proximal ends affixed to the catheter and free distal ends. The spines have different lengths so distal ends of the spines trace different circumferences along an inner tissue surface of a tubular region to minimize risk of vein stenosis. The spine lengths can be configured so that the distal ends trace a helical pattern. The distal assembly may have a plunger which deflects the spines when moved longitudinally relative to the distal assembly. The catheter may include a second distal assembly distal of a first distal assembly wherein the first and second distal assemblies are separated by a fixed distanced or an adjustable distance.
Electrosurgical device having a lumen
An electrosurgical device comprises an electrically conductive elongate member for traversing body vasculature defining a hollow lumen with one or more apertures at or near its distal end, wherein electrical energy can flow through the wall of the elongate member; and an energy delivery device in electrical communication with the elongate member is located distal to the end of the elongate member. The energy delivery device includes an electrode for delivering energy. Methods of using the electrosurgical device include cutting through occlusions and creating transseptal punctures.
Optical analyzer assembly and method for intravascular lithotripsy device
A method for treating a treatment site within or adjacent to a vessel wall or a heart valve, includes the steps of (i) generating light energy with a light source; (ii) positioning a balloon substantially adjacent to the treatment site, the balloon having a balloon wall that defines a balloon interior that receives a balloon fluid; (iii) receiving the light energy from the light source with a light guide at a guide proximal end; (iv) guiding the light energy with the light guide in a first direction from the guide proximal end toward a guide distal end that is positioned within the balloon interior; and (v) optically analyzing with an optical analyzer assembly light energy from the light guide, wherein the light energy that is analyzed moves in a second direction that is opposite the first direction.
Image guided intravascular therapy catheter utilizing a thin chip multiplexor
A medical device that includes an array of ultrasound elements and an integrated circuit, proximal to the ultrasound elements, having a thickness of less than 40 m, and having an array of ultrasound element driving-and-receiving contacts, matching the array of ultrasound elements and collectively electrically connected to each of the ultrasound elements. The integrated circuit also having a set of input-output signal contacts, the set being collectively switchable into contact with any one of a set of predefined blocks of driving-and-receiving contacts, and a set of control contacts, wherein inputs received by the control contacts collectively command some aspect of chip operation. The medical device further includes a set a protective covering.
Unitary Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting Devices
Unitary endoscopic vessel harvesting devices are disclosed. In some embodiments, such devices comprise an elongated body having a proximal end and a distal end; an inflatable, coated or conditioned tip disposed at the distal end of the elongated body; and a cutting unit having a first cutting portion and a second cutting portion, the first cutting portion and the second cutting portion being moveable in a longitudinal direction relative to the elongated body to capture a blood vessel between the first cutting portion and the second cutting portion, and being rotatable relative to one another circumferentially about the tip to cut the captured blood vessel.
