CONNECTOR

A connector comprises a locator configured to position a cable. The locator has a front-end surface, a first surface and a second surface and is formed with a positioning groove. The first surface and the second surface are located at opposite sides of the locator, respectively, in the upper-lower direction (Z-direction). The positioning groove has a front groove, a rear groove and a coupling groove. The front groove is recessed rearward from the front-end surface and extends from the first surface to the coupling groove along the upper-lower direction. The rear groove is recessed from the second surface along the upper-lower direction and extends rearward from the coupling groove. When the locator positions the cable, the front groove receives a front regulated portion of the cable, and the rear groove receives a rear regulated portion of the cable.

A mount plate includes a mount plate housing for coupling an audiovisual device with a battery. A power terminal in the mount plate housing provides electrical power to the audiovisual device. A hot wire connected with the power terminal extends from the mount plate housing. The hot wire is configured to connect with a corresponding hot wire of the audiovisual device. A ground wire extending from the mount plate housing is configured to be connected with a corresponding ground wire of the audiovisual device. A first insulation piercing interconnect is connected with the hot wire. The first insulation piercing interconnect is configured to connect the hot wire with the corresponding hot wire of the audiovisual device. A second insulation piercing interconnect is connected with the ground wire. The second insulation piercing interconnect is configured to connect the ground wire with the corresponding ground wire of the audiovisual device.

CABLE CONNECTOR

A cable connector includes a male connector and a female connector. The male connector has a plurality of contacts disposed perimetrically or circumferentially coaxially along major axes of at least one peripheral surface or perimeter of the male connector. The female connector has a plurality of contacts disposed complementarily coaXially along major axes of at least one interior peripheral surface or perimeter of the female connector. Insertion of the male connector into the female connector allows for greater connectivity between cables because more contacts are accommodated coaXially along the connector length than the transverse dimension, as currently seen in the art. Greater bandwidth is therefore accommodated over a greater number of channels.

An electronic device includes a connection unit having an electric wire and an insulation-displacement terminal. The electric wire includes a conductor and an insulation coating on an outer periphery of the conductor. The insulation-displacement terminal includes two beams facing each other in a first direction to define a slot, and receives the electric wire in the slot to have an electrical connection. The insulation-displacement terminal includes an introduction part defining an opening of the slot, a scrape part for scraping the insulation coating from the electric wire, and a fix part fixing the electric wire in order along a second direction from the opening to an innermost of the slot. The thickness of the scrape part gradually increases toward the second direction so that as the electric wire advances through the scrape part along the second direction the width of the conductor to be scraped gradually increases.
