The deployment mechanism includes a rotatable shaft, a cord including a proximal end engaged to the rotatable shaft and a distal end engaged to the proximal hub, a biasing member positioned to bias the proximal hub towards the distal position, and a gear assembly operably coupled to the rotatable shaft. The gear assembly is configured to move the proximal hub from the distal position to the proximal position against the bias of the biasing member by rotating the rotatable shaft relative to the cord to at least partially wind-up the cord about the rotatable shaft.
Apparatus for effecting feedback of vaginal cavity physiology
A vaginal device is described. A conformable vaginal insert is shaped for insertion into a vaginal cavity of a female human. A contact point is configured to change a shape of the insert. A sensor is configured to measure and to relay characteristics of the vaginal cavity and the surrounding and supportive structures of the vaginal cavity. A processor is configured to control the contact point to adjust the shape of the insert, generate a treatment for the vaginal cavity and the surrounding structures of the vaginal cavity and the supportive structures of the vaginal cavity comprising a vaginal cavity profile generated from the measured characteristics, store the measured characteristics and the vaginal cavity profile, and based on the stored measured characteristics and the stored vaginal cavity profile, automatically modify the shape of the insert by control of the contact point to provide the treatment to the vaginal cavity.
ELECTROSURGICAL DEVICE
Electrosurgical devices and methods associated therewith are provided. The electrosurgical devices include a proximal end, a shaft extending distally from the proximal end, and an end effector operatively coupled to a distal end of the shaft. The shaft consists of a monolithic outer tube, and a single inner guide disposed within the monolithic outer tube and extending a length thereof. The end effector includes a pair of jaws configured to grasp tissue and to receive a blade from the shaft to transect the grasped tissue.
Endoluminal treatment method and associated surgical assembly
A surgical instrument includes a hollow member having a sidewall provided with a window and a closure member movably connected to the hollow member for alternately covering and uncovering the window. The hollow member has a first clamping surface along an edge of the window, while the closure member has a second clamping surface opposing the first clamping surface and disposable substantially adjacent thereto in a clamping or closure configuration of the instrument. The instrument additionally comprises a tissue occlusion component mounted to at least one of the hollow member and the closure member for acting on tissues gripped between the first clamping surface and the second clamping surface, to couple the tissues to each other.
VEIN DISSECTING DEVICE AND METHOD
A vein harvesting device for harvesting a vein in a body comprises a tubular member possessing a distal end portion and a proximal end portion, and a capping member at the distal end portion of the tubular member. The capping member possesses a distal end portion and a proximal end portion, and the distal end portion of the capping member possesses a window member and a dissecting member. The window member extends from the proximal end portion of the capping member to the distal end portion of the capping member, and a cutting member is positioned in the tubular member and is movable under the window member and in a circumferential direction relative to the tubular member.
ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
An endoscopic surgical instrument is provided. The instrument includes a housing, a handle, an elongated shaft extending distally from the housing and defining a longitudinal axis, an end effector assembly, a drive assembly, a clevis, a first link, and a second link. The end effector assembly is disposed adjacent a distal end of the elongated shaft and includes a first jaw member and a second jaw member. The first link is pivotably connected to the clevis about a first pivot axis, and is pivotably connected to the first jaw member about a first jaw member pivot. The second link is pivotably connected to the clevis about a second pivot axis, and is pivotably connected to the second jaw member about a second jaw member pivot. The first pivot axis and the second pivot axis are offset from the longitudinal axis.
Vein Dissecting Device and Method
A vein harvesting assembly for harvesting a vein in a body comprises: a dissecting member, with the dissecting member being insertable into the body and moved along a vein to dissect tissue surrounding the vein. A covering member possesses a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, with the covering member possessing a covered space extending from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion, and the covering member being mountable on and movable along the dissecting member when the dissecting member is positioned in a living body. A cutting member is comprised of an elongated member and a blade member so that rotation of the elongated member results in turning of the cutting member to cut tissue surrounding the vein. The cutting member is insertable into the space in the covering member and is movable in a distal direction along the space.
VEIN DISSECTING DEVICE AND METHOD
A vein harvesting device for harvesting a vein in a body includes a tubular member, an elongated dissecting member positioned inside the tubular member to dissect a tissue so that the tubular member axially overlaps the elongated dissecting member, wherein the tubular member is rotatable relative to the dissecting member, and an elongated cutting member positioned on the elongated dissecting member to cut a vessel and rotatable relative to the elongated dissecting member.
