There is provided a coating moving method for a cable that removes a coating at a terminal portion of a cable, including a step of applying a pressing force having such a magnitude that a cutting edge stops at a position before reaching the core wire to the cutting blade to make an incision on the coating by the cutting blade, a step of twist-cutting an uncut portion of the coating between the cutting edge of the cutting blade and the outer periphery of the core wire by rotating the coating on a distal end side from an incision position with respect to the coating on a base end side, and a step of removing the coating on the distal end side from the incision position by gripping and pulling out the coating on the distal end side from the incision position to expose the core wire.

STRIP STOP MECHANISM

A strip stop mechanism for a fiber stripping machine including a channel for receiving an optical fiber. The strip stop mechanism can include a lever operably mounted to the fiber stripping machine, the lever extending between a first end and a second end and being rotatable between a first position and a second position. When the lever is in the first position, the first end of the lever resides within the channel to provide an end stop for the optical fiber. When the lever is in the second position, the first end of the lever is at least partially withdrawn from the channel and the fiber stripping machine is activated. A second end of the lever can be configured to depress an activation button of the fiber stripping machine once the first end of the lever is at least partially removed from the channel.

Apparatus for cable processing

An apparatus for processing a cable including an insulating member, a shielding layer, and a conductor, the apparatus includes a frame forming a housing having an aperture configured to receive an end portion of the cable; a first gripping member disposed within the housing and being configured to grip the cable; and a second gripping member disposed within the housing and being configured to grip the cable; wherein the second gripping member is mounted within the housing so as to be movable relative to the first gripping member to effect fanning and cutting of a portion of the shielding layer.

METHOD FOR REMOVING INSULATION FROM INNER CONDUCTORS OF A CABLE, AND STRIPPING DEVICE
20200366070 · 2020-11-19 ·

A method for removing insulation from inner conductors of a cable having a first section with a cable sheath removed and a second section with the cable sheath not removed utilizes a stripping device to perform the following steps: inserting the first section between a first rotatable roller and a second rotatable roller of the stripping device; moving the first roller and/or the second roller toward each other to clamp the first section between the rollers; moving the cable in a first direction that moves the second section away from the rollers; moving the cable in a second direction opposite the first direction that moves the second section toward the rollers; moving stripping blades toward the first section to cut into the insulation of the inner conductors; and moving the cable in the first direction to remove at least part of the insulation from the inner conductors.

System for servicing cable

A system for servicing cable includes a plurality of jaws operable between an open position for receiving a cable in a direction transverse to a cable axis such that the cable extends axially beyond the jaws in two directions, and a closed position for engaging and rotationally fixing the cable about the cable axis. A tool arrangement is disposed proximate to the base and includes at least one tool operable to perform work on the cable when the cable is engaged by the jaws. The tool arrangement is operable to perform at least one of a rotational movement around or an axial movement along the cable axis and to operate the tool.

A cable processing apparatus including a first housing member having a first interface surface, a second housing member having a second interface surface, the second interface surface opposes the first interface surface. At least one abrasive member unit coupled to at least one of the first and second housing members so as to be disposed between the first and second interface surfaces. A controller coupled to the first and second housing members and the at least one abrasive member unit for moving the first and second housing members to clamp a cable extending through the first and second housing members, actuating the at least one abrasive member unit, and moving the second housing member relative to the first housing member to radially expand shielding of the cable where the radially expanded cable shielding is ground off of the cable by the at least one abrasive member unit.

Method and device for stripping a cable having a multi-layered sheath

In a method for stripping a cable having a multi-layered sheath, first, an initial layer of the sheath of the cable is cut in a stripping device using at least one stripping blade. This is followed by cutting an inner layer of the sheath located opposite the first layer using a laser beam of a laser cutting device. The stripping process is completed by removal of the sheath that was cut using the stripping blade and the laser beam.

Stripping apparatus and stripping station

A stripping apparatus and a stripping station capable of reducing cycle time for steps of stripping an insulation coating from a conducting wire material are provided. A stripping apparatus configured to strip an insulation coating WL from a conducting wire material W, including the insulation coating WL and cross-section of which orthogonal to a longitudinal direction has a rectangular shape, the stripping apparatus includes: an upper mold 150 provided with a stripping blade configured to strip the insulation coating WL; a lower mold 110 configured to support the conducting wire material W from a lower side thereof; a pressing member 130 configured to prevent displacement of the conducting wire material W; and a rotation mechanism configured to rotate the conducting wire material W around a rotational axis C1 that is parallel to a axial center of the conducting wire material W.

SYSTEM FOR SERVICING CABLE

A system for servicing cable includes a field-end assembly and a live-end assembly, each mounted on a support structure having at least one drive mechanism operable to cause relative linear movement between the field-end assembly and the live-end assembly.
