CABLE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A cable processing apparatus including a first housing member having a first interface surface, a second housing member having a second interface surface, the second interface surface opposes the first interface surface. At least one abrasive member unit coupled to at least one of the first and second housing members so as to be disposed between the first and second interface surfaces. A controller coupled to the first and second housing members and the at least one abrasive member unit for moving the first and second housing members to clamp a cable extending through the first and second housing members, actuating the at least one abrasive member unit, and moving the second housing member relative to the first housing member to radially expand shielding of the cable where the radially expanded cable shielding is ground off of the cable by the at least one abrasive member unit.
Coat removing method of coated optical fiber
A coat removing method of removing a coat of a coated optical fiber 3 made of a glass fiber 3a and the coat of polyimide resin 3b covering the glass fiber 3a includes holding the coated optical fiber 3 with fiber clamps 5 and 7 at two locations spaced by a predetermined distance in a length direction of the coated optical fiber 3, applying tension to the coated optical fiber 3 in the length direction, pressing a coat removal blade 29 to the coated optical fiber 3 in the tension-applied state in a direction crossing the length direction, to bend the coated optical fiber 3, and moving the coat removal blade 29 in the length direction along the coated optical fiber 3 in the bent state, thereby removing the coat.
CABLE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD THEREFORE
A cable processing apparatus including a frame; a cable guide coupled to the frame; a first cable clamp adjacent the cable guide; a second cable clamp adjacent the cable guide where the first cable clamp is disposed between the cable guide and the second cable clamp; and a controller configured to move the second cable clamp to a clamped position such that a cable extending through the cable guide is clamped by the second cable clamp, move the second cable clamp, relative to the cable guide, in a direction extending along the cable such that a first portion of the insulation is removed from the cable at the first score to expose shielding of the cable, and move the second cable clamp, relative to the first cable clamp, in the direction extending along the cable to cut the shielding to expose one or more conductor of the cable.
Electrical wire processing device
An electrical wire processing device (1) includes a pair of cutting blades (40A, 40B) capable of cutting an electrical wire (5) and circumferentially notching a covering (5b), a slit blade (43A, 43B) disposed farther in one side in a longitudinal direction (CL) of the electrical wire (5) than the cutting blades (40A, 40B) and capable of slitting the covering (5b) in the longitudinal direction (CL) of the electrical wire (5), and a slit blade actuator (35A, 35B) that moves the slit blade (43A, 43B) between a slit position in which the slit blade (43A, 43B) comes closer to the electrical wire (5) than the cutting blades (40A, 40B) and a retraction position in which the slit blade (43A, 43B) goes farther from the electrical wire (5) than the cutting blades (40A, 40B).
APPARATUS FOR CABLE PROCESSING
An apparatus for processing a cable including an insulating member, a shielding layer, and a conductor, the apparatus includes a frame forming a housing having an aperture configured to receive an end portion of the cable; a first gripping member disposed within the housing and being configured to grip the cable; and a second gripping member disposed within the housing and being configured to grip the cable; wherein the second gripping member is mounted within the housing so as to be movable relative to the first gripping member to effect fanning and cutting of a portion of the shielding layer,
Terminal treatment apparatus for a coaxial cable to separate a sheath from a conductor
A terminal treatment apparatus for a coaxial cable including a core member having an inner conductor covered with an insulator, an outer conductor provided around the core member and formed of a plurality of wires, and a sheath covering an outer circumference of the outer conductor, includes a widening terminal to widen the outer conductor away from the core member by compressing a terminal-near portion of the exposed outer conductor from an outer circumferential side of the coaxial cable to deform the terminal-near portion of the exposed outer conductor.
Electrical power cable preparation system
Techniques, systems and articles are described for preparing electrical cables for connections to a power grid. In one example, a system includes a cable preparation device configured to cut one or more layers of an electrical cable and a computing device configured to control the cable preparation device to cut the one or more layers of the electrical cable. The computing device may determine one or more target cutting distances and determine whether an actual cutting distance satisfies the target cutting distance. The computing device may detect defects in the electrical cable. The computing device may further determine whether the cable preparation device should be serviced.
Armored Cable Cutter
A motorized armored cable cutter having a housing containing a motor powered by a power source. The motor is connected to a gearbox. The gearbox transmits rotational force from the motor to an arbor. The arbor rotates a cutting blade. The housing has a guard structure with a cutting blade cover, a primary cable trough, and a lever. The lever has an end configured for a user to depress located opposite another end connected to a secondary cable trough. The housing has a primary cable trough located opposite a secondary cable trough. The primary cable trough and secondary cable trough capture and retain the armored cable. When the lever is depressed by a user, the secondary cable trough is oriented toward the primary cable trough resulting in the armored cable to contact the cutting blade, as the cutting blade protrudes through an opening of the primary cable trough.
Apparatus for cable processing
An apparatus for processing a cable including an insulating member, a shielding layer, and a conductor, the apparatus includes a frame forming a housing having an aperture configured to receive an end portion of the cable; a first gripping member disposed within the housing and being configured to grip the cable; and a second gripping member disposed within the housing and being configured to grip the cable; wherein the second gripping member is mounted within the housing so as to be movable relative to the first gripping member to effect fanning and cutting of a portion of the shielding layer.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STRIPPING A CABLE HAVING A MULTI-LAYERED SHEATH
In a method for stripping a cable having a multi-layered sheath, first, an initial layer of the sheath of the cable is cut in a stripping device using at least one stripping blade. This is followed by cutting an inner layer of the sheath located opposite the first layer using a laser beam of a laser cutting device. The stripping process is completed by removal of the sheath that was cut using the stripping blade and the laser beam.
