A method of manufacturing including: forming the electric resistance pattern on the insulative substrate; stacking the heat conduction plate, the insulative substrate and the adhesive sheet; and joining the heat conduction plate, the adhesive sheet and the insulative substrate, by hot pressing.
MEDICAL TREATMENT DEVICE
A medical treatment device includes a pair of holding members for opening and closing about an axis in accordance with an operation of an operating unit, and a shaft having one end connected to the operating unit and having the other end to axially support the holding members through the axis so as to allow the holding members to open and close. One of the holding members includes an energy application portion for contacting a body tissue to apply energy to the body tissue with the body tissue grasped by the holding members. The energy application portion is connected to a flexible substrate to be electrically connected to a lead wire provided inside the shaft extending from the other end of the shaft toward the one end of the shaft. The flexible substrate is connected to the lead wire closer to the one end of the shaft than the axis.
THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT DEVICE
A therapeutic treatment device heats a living tissue for treatment. The therapeutic treatment device includes a heat conduction plate, an electric resistance pattern, an adhesive sheet and an insulating thin film. The heat conduction plate includes a first principal surface that is brought into contact with the living tissue and a second principal surface. The electric resistance pattern is formed on an insulation substrate and generates heat upon receipt of electric power. The adhesive sheet has a high heat resistance, a high thermal conductivity, and electric insulation properties. The sheet adheres the electric resistance pattern with the heat conduction plate, and transfers the heat generated from the electric resistance pattern to the heat conduction plate. The insulating thin film coveres at least an exposed portion of the electric resistance pattern.
Surgical instrument soft stop
A surgical system comprising an elongate shaft and an end effector is disclosed herein. The end effector comprises a first jaw, a second jaw, and a staple cartridge comprising staples removably stored therein, wherein the first jaw is movable relative to the second jaw. The surgical system further comprises a first rotatable drive system configured to close the first jaw and a second rotatable drive system. The second rotatable drive system comprises a drive screw, a drive member movable between a proximal position and a distal position during a staple firing stroke, and a sled configured to eject the staples from the staple cartridge during the staple firing stroke. The sled is not pulled proximally by the drive member when the drive member is retracted. The end effector, the drive screw, and the sled comprise a replaceable assembly.
Laparoscopic medical device with de-mateable tip
A laparoscopic instrument assembly with a handle member and a removable tip. The handle member and removable tip are mated using a double threaded design which provides a secure connection with low electrical resistance. Electrical energy is provided through an inner shaft to the removable tip, and a return energy path is formed using an outer tubing of the instrument assembly. The removal tip includes a cutting and sealing device with a resistive member that is provided with the electrical energy, thereby enabling the tip to cut and seal tissue.
Unitary endoscopic vessel harvesting devices
Unitary endoscopic vessel harvesting devices are disclosed. In some embodiments, such devices may comprise an elongated body having a proximal end and a distal end. A conical tip may be disposed at the distal end of the elongated body. In addition, the surgical instrument may include one or more surgical instruments moveable in a longitudinal direction along an axis substantially parallel to a central longitudinal axis of the cannula from a retracted position proximally of a distal end of the tip to an advanced position toward the distal end of the tip to seal and cut a blood vessel.
MEDICAL TREATMENT DEVICE
A medical treatment device includes a pair of holding members configured to grasp a target part to be connected and dissected in a body tissue. At least one holding member of the pair of holding members includes an energy application portion having a treatment surface configured to contact the target part when the target part is grasped by the pair of holding members to apply energy to the target part. The treatment surface includes a high-output area configured to apply energy to the target part at a first output value for dissecting at least the target part, and a low-output area configured to apply energy to the target part at a second output value smaller than the first output value. The high-output area and the low-output area are provided continuously to each other.
Electrosurgical dissector with thermal management
An electrosurgical dissection apparatus is disclosed, and includes a thermally insulating body, a thermally conductive insert, at least one active electrode, and at least one return electrode. The at least one active electrode is disposed on the thermally conductive insert, and the at least one return electrode is spaced from the at least one active electrode by a portion of the thermally insulating body. The thermally conductive insert is configured to cauterize tissue dissected by radiofrequency energy passing from the at least one active electrode to the at least one return electrode.
ENERGY TREATMENT SYSTEM, ENERGY CONTROL DEVICE, AND ENERGY TREATMENT INSTRUMENT
An energy output section outputs first electric energy so that a high-frequency current flows between electrodes through a treated target, and outputs second electric energy so that heat occurs in an end effector. A controller outputs the first electric energy at the same time as the second electric energy in at least a part of a period during which the heat is continuously denaturing the treated target from an output start of the second electric energy. The controller makes, based on judging that the treated target entered a predetermined state, an electric power of the first electric energy increased.
