TECHNOLOGIES FOR SWITCHING NETWORK TRAFFIC IN A DATA CENTER
Technologies for switching network traffic include a network switch. The network switch includes one or more processors and communication circuitry coupled to the one or more processors. The communication circuitry is capable of switching network traffic of multiple link layer protocols. Additionally, the network switch includes one or more memory devices storing instructions that, when executed, cause the network switch to receive, with the communication circuitry through an optical connection, network traffic to be forwarded, and determine a link layer protocol of the received network traffic. The instructions additionally cause the network switch to forward the network traffic as a function of the determined link layer protocol. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Disaggregated physical memory resources in a data center
Examples may include sleds for a rack in a data center including physical compute resources and memory for the physical compute resources. The memory can be disaggregated, or organized into near and far memory. A first sled can comprise the physical compute resources and a first set of physical memory resources while a second sled can comprise a second set of physical memory resources. The first set of physical memory resources can be coupled to the physical compute resources via a local interface while the second set of physical memory resources can be coupled to the physical compute resources via a fabric.
Technologies for adaptive processing of multiple buffers
Technologies for adaptive processing of multiple buffers is disclosed. A compute device may establish a buffer queue to which applications can submit buffers to be processed, such as by hashing the submitted buffers. The compute device monitors the buffer queue and determines an efficient way of processing the buffer queue based on the number of buffers present. The compute device may process the buffers serially with a single processor core of the compute device or may process the buffers in parallel with single-instruction, multiple data (SIMD) instructions. The compute device may determine which method to use based on a comparison of the throughput of serially processing the buffers as compared to parallel processing the buffers, which may depend on the number of buffers in the buffer queue.
Out-of-band management techniques for networking fabrics
Out-of-band management techniques for networking fabrics are described. In an example embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a packet-switched network interface to deconstruct a packet received via an out-of-band management network and control circuitry to execute an out-of-band management agent, and the out-of-band management agent may be operative to identify a configuration command comprised in the received packet and control an optical circuit-switched network interface based on the configuration command. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
DOWNHOLE SIGNAL COMPRESSION AND SURFACE RECONSTRUCTION
An apparatus includes a subsurface sensor for use in a borehole to provide a subsurface measurement series, a subsurface processor to receive the subsurface measurement series, and a machine-readable medium. The machine-readable medium has program code to cause the apparatus to obtain the subsurface measurement series and generate an atom combination based on the subsurface measurement series using the subsurface processor, wherein the atom combination comprises a subset of atoms from a dictionary. The code also has instructions to generate a set of characterizing values and transmit the set of characterizing values to a different physical location, wherein the set of characterizing values comprises an atom identifier and at least one corresponding atom weight for at least one atom from the atom combination.
DICTIONARY GENERATION FOR DOWNHOLE SIGNAL COMPRESSION
An apparatus includes a processor and a machine-readable medium having program code to cause the apparatus to obtain a first dictionary based on a first training set of signals and determine a first subset of the first training set of signals based on a training reconstruction accuracy threshold and the first dictionary, wherein each atom in the first dictionary includes at least one of a signal pattern and a function representing the signal pattern. The program code also includes code to generate a second dictionary based on a second training set of signals, wherein the second training set of signals includes the first subset of the first training set of signals.
SEMI-SORTING COMPRESSION WITH ENCODING AND DECODING TABLES
A data processing platform, method, and program product perform compression and decompression of a set of data items. Suffix data and a prefix are selected for each respective data item in the set of data items based on data content of the respective data item. The set of data items is sorted based on the prefixes. The prefixes are encoded by querying multiple encoding tables to create a code word containing compressed information representing values of all prefixes for the set of data items. The code word and suffix data for each of the data items are stored in memory. The code word is decompressed to recover the prefixes. The recovered prefixes are paired with their respective suffix data.
Technologies for dynamically managing resources in disaggregated accelerators
Technologies for dynamically managing resources in disaggregated accelerators include an accelerator. The accelerator includes acceleration circuitry with multiple logic portions, each capable of executing a different workload. Additionally, the accelerator includes communication circuitry to receive a workload to be executed by a logic portion of the accelerator and a dynamic resource allocation logic unit to identify a resource utilization threshold associated with one or more shared resources of the accelerator to be used by a logic portion in the execution of the workload, limit, as a function of the resource utilization threshold, the utilization of the one or more shared resources by the logic portion as the logic portion executes the workload, and subsequently adjust the resource utilization threshold as the workload is executed. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Data-driven reduction of log message data
Techniques are provided for data-driven reduction of log message data. An exemplary method comprises: obtaining log files and user-specified configuration parameters, wherein the log files each comprise one or more log messages; generating an event count matrix indicating a number of times each of a plurality of unique messages appeared in a given log file of the log files; generating a correlation graph by inserting similar messages with a mutual undirected edge, wherein similar messages are identified based on a predefined similarity measure; extracting redundant messages from the correlation graph by selecting log messages for inclusion in an uninformative log message filter from sub-graphs of the correlation graph in which any two nodes are connected together, except those log messages satisfying a predefined message frequency criteria; and identifying one or more redundant messages using the uninformative log message filter. The uninformative log message filter is optionally applied to real-time log messages and/or existing file systems.
Symbol pair encoding for data compression
Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media for compressing data for storage or transmission. Input data is compressed in a first stage utilizing a first compression algorithm and the frequencies of occurrence of symbols and symbol pairs in the output from the first stage is calculated. The output from the first stage is then encoded to a final compressed bit string in a second stage utilizing a second compression algorithm based on the calculated frequencies of occurrence of the symbols and the symbol pairs.
