ELECTRODE ARRANGEMENT IN A CARDIAC ABLATION CATHETER AND METHODS FOR USE
A novel cardiac ablation catheter is based on the principle that the field gradient near the electrode surface is reduced by a truncated dome shape which reduces the ratio of the current magnitude near the electrode-tissue interface to that in the tissue. Thus, for a given power, a deeper lesion can be created at a lower applied power reducing the risk of steam pop and overheating of the surrounding blood pool. The result is a reduction in spurious current which does not contribute to tissue ablation but undesirably increases heating of the blood pool near the ablation site. Methods of use are also described.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR BUILDING A FAMILY TREE
The embodiments herein provide a method and system for building a family tree through a social network. The method includes receiving login credentials from a first person, providing access to a profile of the first person in the social network based on the login credentials, receiving a first triggering event from the first person; wherein the first triggering event occurs when the first person actuates first web element, providing a user interface for building a family tree on receiving the first triggering event from the first person, receiving a second triggering event from the first person; wherein the second triggering event occurs when the first person actuates second web element in the profile of the first person, saving the changes related to the family tree on receiving the second triggering event from the first person, and displaying the family tree on the user interface of the social network.
PLASMA SURGERY DEVICE
An electrosurgical wand is provided and includes a handle and an elongate shaft coupled to the handle and extending distally from the handle along an axis. An active electrode is disposed at a distal end of the electrosurgical wand. A return electrode abuts the elongate shaft and extends along and annularly about the axis. The return electrode has a top side adjacent the active electrode and an opposite bottom side and defines a notch. A support member is disposed in the notch between the electrodes and transitions curvilinearly from the notch to define a front surface extending laterally across and axially from the return electrode. The front surface tapers downwardly from the active electrode to define a first portion defining a first convex outer surface and also extends toward the bottom side of the return electrode to define a second portion defining a second convex outer surface.
STORMWATER COLLECTION AND TREATMENT SYSTEM
The present invention discloses the stormwater source filtration system in which the treatment location is at the first point of water collection, as close to the source of contamination as possible. This provides for a modular, flexible, linear treatment system that can adapt to the existing conditions and the existing roadway profiles. Like our road systems, this is linear and can change with the roadway. This system provides for increased storage capacity immediately adjacent to the roadway. Modular and flexible construction make this system of superior cost effectiveness versus the current filtration systems used today. The ease of maintenance and ability to quickly change the filtration media as needed will reduce long term maintenance costs versus current systems. The disclosed system may be installed in both new constructions and as an enhancement/retrofit of existing systems.
MEDICAL PUNCHING/CAUTERIZING DEVICE
A medical punching/cauterizing device includes a handle having a body, a cap detachably coupled to a front portion of the body, a connection terminal coupled to the body and electrically connected to a power supply means, a conductor provided in the front portion of the body and having one end electrically connected to the connection terminal, and a guide wire provided on a front portion of the handle and having one end electrically connected to the conductor.
Radiofrequency Probe and Methods of Use and Manufacture of Same
In one embodiment, the present disclosure relates to an electrosurgical device that includes an outer body, an inner body disposed partially within the outer body, three plates and an insulator. A first plate of the three plates includes a plurality of apertures and is positioned so that each of two projections extending from the inner body extend through a respective aperture of the plurality of apertures of the first plate. A second plate and a third plate of the three plates are both disposed on the first plate such that each of the two projections extends through an aperture of the second plate or the third plate, the second and third plates being fixed to a respective projection. The insulator is disposed around the inner body and is attached to the outer body at a first end and abuts the first plate at a second end opposite the first end.
System and method for predictable deployment of a medical device
A medical device system for the delivery of energy to a region of a patient's anatomy is provided. An introducer tube defines a lumen therein and bears a first electrode. A second electrode is movable within the lumen between a retracted position and an extended position. In the retracted position, the second electrode is substantially disposed within the lumen. In the extended position, the second electrode extends at least partially beyond the distal end of the introducer tube. In one form, the introducer tube is configured to substantially hold the second electrode within the lumen in a predetermined orientation in the extended position, and the introducer tube prevents the second electrode from substantially rotating within the lumen of the introducer tube during movement into the extended position. In one form, the introducer tube is more flexible in a first plane than in a second plane.
