METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION IN MULTI-ANTENNA WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
Disclosed are a method for transmitting and receiving channel state information in a multi-antenna wireless communication system, and an apparatus therefor. Particularly, a method by which user equipment (UE) reports channel state information in a two-dimensional multi-antenna wireless communication system comprises the steps of: receiving, from a base station, a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) through a multi-antenna port; and reporting the channel state information to the base station, wherein a plurality of codewords, which are used for generating a pre-coding matrix selected by the UE in a codebook for reporting the channel state information, are specified by the channel state information and, after power coefficients are applied to each of the plurality of codewords, the pre-coding matrix can be generated based on a linear combination of the plurality of codewords to which the power coefficients are applied.

A wireless communication device including a control unit configured to generate information for a terminal device based on information acquired from the terminal device. The control unit outputs a reference signal on a first beam generated with at least two or more different first weighting matrices, generates a second weighting matrix specific to a terminal device in accordance with information transmitted from the terminal device in accordance with the reference signal, and outputs data for the terminal device on a second beam with the first weighting matrices and the second weighting matrix. The wireless communication device can supply an appropriate beam to a terminal device while preventing a problem with overhead or increase in the cost of a wireless device, which are caused by an increasing number of antenna elements when FD-MIMO is used.
Codebook subset restriction for full-dimension MIMO
A method, in a radio network node, comprises identifying, among a predetermined codebook of precoding matrix codewords, a subset of precoding matrix codewords that are not to be reported by the wireless device in channel-state-information, CSI, feedback, and transmitting, to the wireless device, a bitmap identifying the subset of precoding matrix codewords that are not to be reported by the wireless device; where each bit in the bitmap corresponds to only one combination of a first dimension index l.sub.1 and a second dimension index l.sub.2 out of the possible combinations of the first dimension index l.sub.1 and the second dimension index l.sub.2, and where the first dimension index l.sub.1 and the second dimension index l.sub.2 identify a two-dimensional beam, the two-dimensional beam being defined by a vector of complex numbers comprised within at least one column of a precoding matrix codeword in the codebook.
Wireless base station apparatus and wireless communication method
A wireless base station apparatus that communicates with a plurality of terminals via spatial multiplexing includes: an active array antenna to transmit a first transmit signal; sector antennas to transmit second transmit signals; and a digital signal processor that generates the first transmit signal that is transmitted from the active array antenna and generates the second transmit signals that are transmitted from the sector antennas, the second transmit signals being transmit signals for eliminating interference between the terminals generated by the first transmit signal.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a channel information feedback method, a channel information determining method, a receive end device, and a transmit end device. The channel information feedback method includes: generating at least one piece of description information for each of a plurality of subbands included in a wideband, where each piece of description information is used to describe a description vector of a channel matrix corresponding to the subband, the description information includes at least one of a vector parameter and a weighting parameter; and sending the at least one piece of description information. The embodiments of the present invention further provide a channel information determining method, a receive end device, and a transmit end device. A precoding effect can be improved when precoding is performed based on the description vector fed back in the technical solutions provided in the embodiments of the present invention.
CODEBOOK-BASED SIGNAL TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION METHOD IN MULTI-ANTENNA WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND DEVICE FOR SAME
Disclosed are a codebook-based signal transmission and reception method in a multi-antenna wireless communication system and an apparatus therefor. Specifically, a method for transmitting or receiving a signal on the basis of a codebook by a terminal in a 2-dimensional multi-antenna wireless communication system comprises the steps of: receiving a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) through a multi-antenna port from a base station; and reporting channel state information to the base station, wherein the channel state information may include a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) for indicating a precoding matrix, the PMI may include a first PMI for selecting a set of precoding matrixes from the codebook and a second PMI for selecting one precoding matrix from the set of precoding matrixes.
Apparatus and method for channel-state-information pilot design for an advanced wireless network
A base station and mobile station communicate using a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication. The base station includes a two dimensional (2D) antenna array comprising a number N of antenna elements configured in a 2D grid. The 2D antenna array is configured to communicate with at least one subscriber station. The base station also includes a controller configured to transmit N channel-state-information reference-signal (CSI-RS) antenna ports (APs) associated with each of the N antenna elements. The subscriber station includes an antenna array configured to communicate with at least one base station. The subscriber station also includes processing circuitry configured receives physical downlink shared channels (PDSCHs) from a 2D active antenna array at the at least one base station. The 2D active antenna array includes a number N antenna elements. The processing circuitry further configured to estimate a full CSI associated with the N antenna elements.
Managing of channel state information in a multiple-antenna communication system
A method for managing channel state information in a wireless communication system comprises obtaining a base set of channel state information of a channel between a first node and a second node based on at least one transmission signal. A dedicated reference signal, specific for a limited set of nodes comprising the second node is transmitted within a channel subspace selected in dependence of the obtained base set of channel state information. At least one common channel state information reference signal specific for an intended coverage area of the first node is transmitted. The common channel state information reference signal allows for obtaining a fall-back set of channel state information of a channel between the first node and the second node. The fall-back set of channel state information represents coarser granularity, in spatial dimensions, than the base set of channel state information.
Channel Sounding in Hybrid Massive MIMO Arrays
A method involving a MIMO communications system including a phased array antenna for establishing communication with a terminal located within a domain, the method including: defining a plurality of sub-domains within the domain; for each sub-domain, defining a corresponding set of analog phase weights to be applied to the phased array antenna for directing beams towards that sub-domain; in succession, selecting each sub-domain among the plurality of sub-domains and for each selected sub-domain: (a) applying the set of analog phase weights for that selected sub-domain to the phased array antenna; (b) performing channel sounding with the terminal while that sub-domain is selected; and (c) receiving feedback from the terminal for that selected sub-domain; and after selecting all sub-domains and from the received feedback, identifying a best sub-domain and identifying a best precoding matrix that in combination with the best sub-domain provides a best communication channel for the terminal.

A beamforming antenna system comprises an antenna array comprising a plurality of antenna elements and a plurality of reconfigurable passive network blocks connected to the antenna array and configured to form beams for transmission and reception according to a configuration of each reconfigurable passive network block. The beamforming antenna system comprises a plurality of radio frequency front ends connected to a plurality of analog front ends configured to convert radio frequency signals to digital baseband signals and vice versa and a baseband processing apparatus configured to generate a digital baseband signal to be fed via a divider circuit to the plurality of analog front ends for transmission, to process a baseband signal received via a combiner circuit from the plurality of analog front ends and to control the configuration of the plurality of reconfigurable passive network blocks.
