20230239037 · 2023-07-27 ·

A space-air-ground integrated UAV-assisted IoT data collection method based on AoI comprises: constructing a UAV-assisted space-air-ground integrated IoT system, constructing a UAV channel model and an AoI model, establishing an AoI-based UAV-assisted space-air-ground integrated IoT data collection model, transforming a problem into a Markov problem, introducing a neural network to solve a high-dimensional state problem, introducing a deep reinforcement learning algorithm to train UAVs to find optimal collection points, and introducing a matching theory to match the UAVs and IoT devices. To meet the requirement for the timeliness of information collection, the invention finds the optimal configuration of flight parameters of UAVs and deduces the restrictive relation between performance indicators such as AoI, system capacity and energy utilization rate, thus effectively improving the timeliness of information collection, reducing the management and control complexity of the system, and improving the application level of AI in the IoT field.

Methods and systems for mitigating interference with a nearby satellite

In one example, an antenna system is described. The antenna system includes a primary antenna on an aircraft. The primary antenna is mechanically steerable and has an asymmetric antenna beam pattern with a narrow beamwidth axis and a wide beamwidth axis at boresight. The antenna system also includes a secondary antenna on the aircraft, the secondary antenna including an array of antenna elements. The antenna system also includes an antenna selection system to control communication of a signal between the aircraft and a target satellite via the primary antenna and the secondary antenna. The antenna selection system switches communication of the signal from the primary antenna to the secondary antenna when a performance characteristic for communication with the target satellite satisfies a threshold due to a position of the aircraft relative to the target satellite.

Individual payloads include antenna systems configured to provide multiple beams for receiving ADS-B messages and two or more receivers configured to process received ADS-B messages that are implemented, at least in part, by reconfigurable FPGAs. In addition, individual payloads are configured to initiate transmission of ADS-B messages processed by one or more of their receivers to the ground segment. Meanwhile, the ground segment is configured to receive such messages and to route them to one or more destinations for aircraft monitoring. The resource scheduling system is configured to control the antenna systems of individual payloads to dynamically adjust the beams for receiving ADS-B messages of the individual antenna systems.

Vehicle multi-communication message type communication system

A vehicle communication system including a communication management unit (CMU) and a data gateway is provided. The CMU is at least in part configured to route first type messages using a first type message communication. The data gateway is configured to communicate second type messages to a remote location. The CMU is configured to route at least some of the first type messages to the data gateway. The data gateway is configured to communicate a pseudo acknowledgment for each message block of each first type message routed to the data gateway back to the CMU indicating the message block was received by a designated remote location. The data gateway is further configured to interface each received first type message into the second type message and communicate each second type message to the designated remote location using a second type of message communication.

Methods and systems are described for providing end-to-end beamforming. For example, end-to-end beamforming systems include end-to-end relays and ground networks to provide communications to user terminals located in user beam coverage areas. The ground segment can include geographically distributed access nodes and a central processing system. Return uplink signals, transmitted from the user terminals, have multipath induced by a plurality of receive/transmit signal paths in the end to end relay and are relayed to the ground network. The ground network, using beamformers, recovers user data streams transmitted by the user terminals from return downlink signals. The ground network, using beamformers generates forward uplink signals from appropriately weighted combinations of user data streams that, after relay by the end-end-end relay, produce forward downlink signals that combine to form user beams.
