20180167849 · 2018-06-14 ·

A method is provided. The method includes: receiving a handover request, from a source base station, for requesting to perform time synchronization with a target base station; and sending handover request acknowledgement information to the source base station, where the handover request acknowledgement information includes information used to indicate whether the source base station performs time synchronization with the target base station. The source base station may determine, according to the handover request acknowledgement information sent by the target base station, whether the source base station needs to perform time synchronization with the target base station.

A method of frame exchange for a first communication device in a multi-radio system is disclosed. The method comprises configuring a time division duplex (TDD) operation in a first radio system and a second radio system, receiving a first frame for requesting a frame exchange, from a second communication device of the first radio system, and transmitting a second frame corresponding to the first frame, to the second communication device, wherein the second frame includes a field for indicating a reserve time for the frame exchange, and the reserve time is set to be aligned with a TDD operation time of the first radio system.

DIRECTIONAL CHANNEL RESERVATION FOR TIME-DIVISION MULTIPLEXING DOWNLINK AND UPLINK DATA BURST TRANSMISSION
20180098335 · 2018-04-05 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may communicate with multiple user equipments (UEs) in a wireless system supporting directional transmission in shared spectrum (e.g., in millimeter wave (mmW) spectrum). The base station may contend for the channel (e.g., using a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure) and, upon success, transmit a directional channel reservation (CR) signal to each of the multiple UEs. The CR signal may reserve the channel for a specific time period and indicate a start time, an end time, or both. The UE may respond with another CR transmission. In some examples, the base station may transmit CR signals to each of the UEs in a single burst transmission. In other examples, the base station may transmit CR signals to the UEs sequentially, so that if a UE does not respond, the reserved time may be allotted to another UE.

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for correcting clocks for a plurality of local transmitters. In one embodiment, the functions implemented include: receiving base station time from a plurality of local transmitters; assigning each local transmitter of the plurality of local transmitters to at least one subset of a plurality of subsets, wherein each subset corresponds to a single base station, and wherein each local transmitter in a particular subset receives time from a base station corresponding to the subset; selecting a single subset of local transmitters as a reference subset of local transmitters, the reference subset corresponding to a reference base station, each non-reference subset corresponding to a non-reference base station; determining a time difference between the reference base station and each of the non-reference base stations based on time received from one or more local transmitters that belong in more than one of the subsets; and transmitting the time difference to respective non-reference subsets of local transmitters.

MITIGATION OF INTER-BASE STATION RESYNCHRONIZATION LOSS IN LTE/LTE-A NETWORKS WITH CONTENTION-BASED SHARED FREQUENCY SPECTRUM

Mitigation of inter-base station resynchronization loss in wireless networks including contention-based shared frequency spectrum is discussed. Aspects of such mitigation provide for base stations entering into an idle mode when a transmission opportunity occurs in a radio frame of the next resynchronization occasion. Additional aspects provide for the base station to signal a flexible listen before talk (LBT) frame length to the user equipment (UE), either with or without explicit signaling of the downlink-uplink division. Further aspects provide for the base station to signal a reset indication to UEs that will prompt the UEs to monitor for downlink channel reserving signals prior to the current LBT frame ending by the resynchronization occasion.

COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, BASE STATION, USER EQUIPMENT AND TIMING SYNCHRONIZATION METHOD FOR BASE STATION THEREOF
20170118731 · 2017-04-27 ·

A communication system, a base station, a user equipment (UE), and a timing synchronization method for the base station thereof are provided. The communication system includes a first base station, a second base station and the user equipment. The UE is located within coverage of the first base station and the second base station. The first base station and the second base station respectively measure signal stability of the user equipment so that the second base station selects the user equipment based on the measurements for the stability of the signals. The first base station computes a first timing error for transmitting or receiving message between the first base station and the user equipment then transmits the first timing error to the second base station. The second base station adjusts a timing difference between the first base station and the second base station through the first timing error.

The communication device, which constitutes a wireless network by cooperating with another communication device, has a transmission unit for transmitting a frame for synchronization to the other communication device to cooperate with the other communication device. The transmission unit includes: a setting unit that sets a value exceeding 4 as a repetition number for an EHT Long Training Field (EHT-LTF) in a preset position of an EHT Signal Field (EHT-SIG-A) of a frame for synchronization; and a generation unit that generates a frame for synchronization, the frame including EHT-LTFs whose quantity is the set repetition number. The transmission unit transmits the generated frame to the other communication device.
