Disclose are a radio-frequency ablation catheter and a radio-frequency ablation system. The radio-frequency ablation catheter includes a needle tube portion and a handle portion. A sleeve of the handle portion is mounted around a booster of the handle portion. A puncture tube of the needle tube portion is fixed to an end of the sleeve. An electrode tube and a signal conduit of the needle tube portion are disposed passing through the puncture tube. A plurality of needles are provided on the electrode tube and a plurality of supports are provided on the signal conduit. The plurality of supports correspond to the plurality of needles respectively. A plurality of temperature sensors are provided at ends of the plurality of supports.

TISSUE INCISION DEVICE

A minimally invasive tissue incision system for creating joint capsulotomies and releasing/incising various tissues, tendons, and fibrous band structures is described. The system contains a penetrating needle which is retractable so as to expose a cutting element, and which may be used as a penetrating needle to pierce the skin and other soft tissue structures. The cutting element provided within the penetrating needle may be used to incise subsequent tissue structures after the initial penetration. The system facilitates such procedures by providing the cutting element with the confines of the needle which provides safe introduction of the cutting element directly to the site via the needle.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING TISSUE WITH RADIOFREQUENCY ENERGY

A system for controlling operation of a radiofrequency treatment device to apply radiofrequency energy to tissue to heat tissue to create lesions without ablating the tissue. The system includes a first treatment device having at least one electrode for applying radiofrequency energy to tissue, a controller including a connector to which a first treatment device is coupled for use, and a generator for applying radiofrequency energy to the electrodes. The controller controls application of energy so that the tissue is thermally treated to create lesions but preventing thermal treatment beyond a threshold which would ablate the tissue.

The present invention is directed to a multi-probe ablation simulation and guidance system and method for use in tissue ablation procedures. In use, the relative locations of a plurality of ablation probes capable of providing ablation energy are determined, and the effect of energy provided by the probes based on the determined locations is predicted to identify a simulated ablation volume. This simulated ablation volume is compared with a target tissue volume. The relative locations of the probes can be adjusted based on the comparison between the simulated ablation volume and the target tissue volume, and the predicted effect rerun until the simulated ablation volume encompasses the target tissue volume to be ablated and necrotized.

Described herein are cannulas that comprise a cannula tube and a cannula tip. The cannula tube comprises a proximal end, a distal end, a cannula tube lumen, a sidewall, and a sidewall opening extending through the sidewall, the sidewall opening a proximal end and distal end. The cannula tip is secured to the distal end of the cannula tube and comprises a proximal tip portion that is inserted into the cannula tube lumen and a distal tip portion that extends beyond the distal end of the cannula tube. The cannula tip is configured to allow fluid to flow therethrough and is configured to eject a distal tip of an elongated device through the sidewall opening of the cannula tube as the elongated device is inserted through the cannula tube from the proximal end of the cannula tube.

A needle electrode deployment shaft includes a central member and a plurality of needle electrodes. The central member has a plurality of needle advancement channels formed therein. The needle electrodes are disposed within the advancement channels and each advancement channel terminates in a ramp portion which deflects the needles radially outwardly as they are axially advanced. The ramps may be spirally or acutely configured in order to increase the distance through which the needles may be bent as they are axially advanced. Additionally, the central member may have a radially reduced distal tip in order to decrease tissue insertion forces.
