Discarding and retaining physical data channels

A first channel for carrying Layer 2 messages carries data that will not be retransmitted and for which decoding-related information need not be retained by the receiving node in the event of an unsuccessful decoding of the data, while a second channel carries data that will be retransmitted in the event that a negative acknowledgement is received by the transmitting node. In an example method, first and second subsets of Layer 2 messages are received on first and second physical data channels, respectively. Decoding-related information for unsuccessfully decoded messages in the first subset is retained for use with subsequent retransmissions, while decoding-related information for unsuccessfully decoded messages in the second subset is discarded without waiting for retransmissions. Acknowledgements or negative acknowledgements are sent for messages in the first subset, but may or may not be sent for messages in the second subset, in various embodiments.

A data unit that requires a receipt acknowledgement response in a plurality of transmitted data units is suitably selected.

A wireless communication apparatus includes a control unit. The control unit controls transmission of receipt acknowledgement requests for a plurality of transmitted data units. Further, the receipt acknowledgement request whose transmission is controlled by the control unit is a receipt acknowledgement request including information, the information identifying a data unit that requires a receipt acknowledgement response in the plurality of transmitted data units and specifying the identified data unit.

TECHNIQUES FOR WIRELESS ACCESS AND WIRELINE NETWORK INTEGRATION

One embodiment is a method and includes receiving at a termination element of a first network a bandwidth report (BWR), in which the BWR includes information regarding a data transmission opportunity over a second network for at least one endpoint data; scheduling a first network transmission opportunity for the at least one endpoint data using information derived from the received BWR; and receiving from a first network forwarding device the at least one endpoint data in accordance with the scheduled first network transmission opportunity.

IMMEDIATE RETRANSMISSION SCHEME FOR REAL TIME APPLICATIONS

A wireless communication circuit configured for communicating over a wireless local area network (WLAN) in its reception area to communicate real-time application (RTA) packets as well as non-real time (non-RTA) packets. RTA packet retransmission is performed with lower latency in response to performing an immediate retransmission scheme that can bypass the need to contend for channel access, and/or without waiting for notifications back from a receiver before channel access. In other instances the RTA packets contend for retransmission access without a contention time window increase.

Systems and methods for mixed grant-free and grant-based uplink transmissions

There may be situations in which it is beneficial for a user equipment to switch between grant-free uplink wireless transmissions and grant-based uplink wireless transmissions. Systems and methods are disclosed that help facilitate grant-based and grant-free uplink wireless communications, and the switching between the two. For example, systems and methods for mitigating collision between a granted uplink wireless transmission and a grant-free uplink wireless transmission are disclosed herein.

The present invention relates to a wireless communication system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and a device for skipping an UL transmission in a wireless system, the method comprising: receiving a RRC signaling configuring that the UE skips an UL transmission if there is no data available for transmission, receiving an UL grant for new transmission for a HARQ process, and discarding an old MAC PDU in a HARQ buffer of the HARQ process without storing any new MAC PDU in the HARQ buffer, if there is no data available for transmission.

Wireless Communication Device, Network Node and Methods for Handling Data Transmissions

Embodiments herein relate to a method implemented by a wireless communication device. The wireless communication device transmits data to a radio node of a wireless communication network. The wireless communication device monitors for a positive acknowledgement or a negative acknowledgement of the data from the radio node. The wireless communication device retransmits the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates reception of a negative acknowledgement of the data. The wireless communication device refrains from retransmitting the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates reception of a positive acknowledgement of the data. The wireless communication device also refrains from retransmitting the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates neither reception of a positive acknowledgement of the data nor reception of a negative acknowledgement of the data.
