SCALABLE PROVISIONING OF AGGREGATION DEVICES WITH DIFFERENTIATED FEATURES
It is determined that a first customer premises equipment (CPE) that provides external network access to a first local area network and that is communicatively coupled to a first aggregation device is to be dynamically provisioned with a first differentiated feature that is different from default features identified in a first boot configuration from which the first CPE obtains features during a boot phase of the first CPE. A first aggregation driver process that corresponds to the first aggregation device is identified. A request to implement the first differentiated feature on the first aggregation device is sent to the first aggregation driver process.
MULTI-CHANNEL DECODER WITH DISTRIBUTED SCHEDULING
A multi-channel decoder circuit associated with a multi-channel decoder system is disclosed. The multi-channel decoder circuit comprises a distributed decoder circuit comprising a set of unit decoder circuits, each unit decoder circuit configured to receive one or more codewords of a plurality of codewords associated with a plurality of input channels, and decode the one or more codewords. The multi-channel decoder circuit further comprises a distribution controller circuit configured to distribute each incoming codeword of the one or more codewords to the respective unit decoder circuit of the set of unit decoder circuits within the distributed decoder circuit, based on determining a currently available unit decoder circuit within the set of unit decoder circuits.

Service and topology exchange protocol having client-driven active-active repositories with high availability
Techniques are disclosed for promulgating service information and topology information in a network in a high availability manner. An example device is configured to create a first service and topology exchange protocol (STEP) document. The first STEP document includes service information and topology information. The example device is configured to send the first STEP document to a first STEP repository for forwarding to at least one subscribing network device. The example device is also configured to send the first STEP document to a second STEP repository for forwarding to the at least one subscribing network device.

Telecommunication systems and methods using dynamic shaping for allocating network bandwidth
A telecommunication system employs dynamic shaping based on current load conditions for at least one congestion point in order to achieve a fair allocation of network bandwidth. In one exemplary embodiment, shaper control logic communicates with virtual scheduler/shapers to learn current load conditions for at least one congestion point. Using such load information, the shaper control logic dynamically controls the shaper rates for the virtual scheduler/shapers so that packet flows for services of the same class passing through the congestion point achieve a desired (e.g., same or similar) performance regardless of which virtual scheduler/shaper is communicating each respective packet flow.
Distribution management for media content assets
A method, system, and framework provide the ability to distribute media content. Title information for a media asset is acquired into a computer database. Distribution requirements (e.g., file requirements for files required to distribute the media asset) for retailers and territories are maintained in the database. Desired retailers are selected. Based on the title information and the desired retailers, territories with distribution requirements that match the title information are automatically selected. File requirements for the selected desired retailers and selected territories are displayed. An order is created (the order is based on the title information, the selected desired retailers, the selected territories, and the file requirements). Files identified by the file requirements are received. Based on the order, the received files are automatically submitted (for distribution of the media asset) to the selected retailers.
Efficient remote PHY dataplane management for a cable system
A cable distribution system that includes a headend connected to a plurality of customer devices through a transmission network that includes a remote fiber node that converts digital data to analog data suitable for the plurality of customer devices. The remote fiber node receiving a downstream external protocol interface packet that includes a header portion and a data portion in memory. The remote fiber node encoding and transmitting the data portion to at least one of the plurality of customer devices, wherein the data portion is transferred from the memory using direct memory access based upon a buffer descriptor for the encoding.
Allocating processing bandwidth at a residential gateway utilizing transmission rules
A method includes, in response to determining that a transmission parameter of a communication received from a particular network device does not satisfy a bandwidth threshold indicated by a transmission rule, modifying the transmission parameter based on the transmission rule to produce a modified parameter. The particular network device is associated with a particular transmission rule that includes a particular data rate of network resources. The method includes applying the modified parameter to the communication.
METHOD AND APPARATUS TO PERFORM MULTIPLE PACKET PAYLOADS ANALYSIS
A method and apparatus for identifying data patterns of a file are described herein. In one embodiment, an exemplary process includes, but is not limited to, receiving a data packet of a data stream containing a file segment of a file originated from an external host and destined to a protected host of a local area network (LAN), the file being transmitted via multiple file segments contained in multiple data packets of the data stream, and performing a data pattern analysis on the received data packet to determine whether the received data packet contains a predetermined data pattern, without waiting for a remainder of the data stream to arrive. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.
