POLICY CONTROL FUNCTION FALLBACK
Systems, methods, and devices can be utilized for policy control function (PCF) fallback during the set up of a session utilizing a 5th Generation (5G) core network. An example method includes receiving, from a session management function (SMF), a request for a policy corresponding to a session. The request includes a first policy identifier corresponding to a first policy control function (PCF). The example method further includes determining that the first PCF is unavailable, generating a modified request by replacing the first policy identifier with a second policy identifier in the request. The second policy identifier corresponds to a second PCF. The example method also includes transmitting, to the second PCF, the modified second request.
System and method for provisioning internet access
A system and method for provisioning internet access to guests of a travel facility is provided. A number of access points are in electronic communication with a gateway device which is in electronic communication with a property management system (PMS) and a router. The PMS includes identifying information for guests registered with the travel facility. An API gateway and a central destination server are in electronic communication with the gateway device by way of the internet. The central destination server receives a request to connect to the internet from a personal electronic device and grants internet access if the personal electronic device is recognized as having previously been granted internet access for a duration of time and if the current time is within the duration of time.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING META DATA INFORMATION OF NETWORK FUNCTION SERVICE, AND RELATED DEVICE
One example method for providing meta data information of a network function service (NFS) includes obtaining service quality data of a plurality of NFSs from a network function quality collector (NFQC) device, obtaining a service content condition from a network function service consumer (NFSC) device, obtaining a service quality condition from a network function management function (NFMF) device, selecting at least one NFS from the plurality of NFSs based on the service content condition, the service quality condition, and the service quality data, and sending meta data information of the NFS to the NFSC device. The meta data information of the NFS is a set of attribute information that describes the NFS or a set of attribute information that describes a network function instance that provides the NFS.
COMMUNICATION BETWEEN CLIENT DEVICE AND SERVER
A method of communication between at least one client device and a server for reporting of data from the client device to the server, comprises implementing one of a plurality of different communication policies for at least two different ones of objects, object instances or resources at the client device. The plurality of communication policies includes a dependent communication policy according to which data relating to at least one of the objects, object instances or resources is reported from the client device to the server only if other data is to be reported from the client device to the server.
Method for monitoring and controlling session traffic usage, server and storage medium
A method for monitoring and controlling session traffic usage, includes: receiving traffic usage increment information of a first session and a second session reported by a first PCF and a second PCF; accumulating a total traffic usage of the first session and the second session according to the received traffic usage increment information; determining whether a current total traffic usage reaches a threshold value of a total issued traffic usage; and sending the total traffic usage information of the first session and the second session to the first PCF and the second PCF in response to that the current total traffic usage reaches the threshold value of the total issued traffic usage, and in response to that the current total traffic usage does not reach the threshold value of the total issued traffic usage, repeating above steps.
QUALITY OF SERVICE (QOS) MANAGEMENT WITH NETWORK-BASED MEDIA PROCESSING (NBMP)
Various embodiments herein provide techniques for quality of service (QoS) mapping procedures relying on network-based media processing (NBMP) application program interfaces (APIs). Embodiments may address the variety of QoS demands for a wide range of edge media processing workloads enabled by NBMP, e.g., so that edge compute capabilities of 5G networks can be leveraged to handle these various media processing workflows. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
OVERSUBSCRIBABLE RESOURCE ALLOCATION
There is disclosed in one example a computing apparatus, including: a hardware platform configured to communicatively couple with a multi-tenant cloud service, the multi-tenant cloud service including an oversubscribable resource; and a service assurance for oversubscribable resource (SAOR) engine configured to: receive tenant subscriptions to the oversubscribable resource, wherein tenant subscriptions exceed available instances of the oversubscribable resource; receive per-tenant quality of service (QoS) metrics for the oversubscribable resource; receive an allocation request from a guest for allocation of an instance of the oversubscribable resource; compare the request to currently-available instances of the oversubscribable resource; determine that the oversubscribable resource has capacity to service the request according to the QoS metrics of the tenant; and allocate an instance of the oversubscribable resource to the guest.
Over-the-top internet service provisioning
Novel tools and techniques for provisioning OTT internet services are provided. A system includes a user device associated with a first customer, a first physical customer local area network, and an enhanced network gateway. The enhanced network gateway may be configured to instantiate a virtual gateway associated with the first physical customer local area network, create a secure domain associated with the first physical customer local area network, determine whether a subscriber account is associated with the first customer. Responsive to determining that a subscriber account is not associated with the first customer, the enhanced network gateway may further provide a consumer portal to the user device, receive a selection of one or more services through the consumer portal, establish a connection to a service provider network associated with the one or more services, and provision the one or more services over the first physical customer local area network.
Controlling communications
Apparatuses and methods for controlling communication of a user terminal in a communication system are provided. The solution comprises determining that a data connection of an access point name or data network name of the user terminal does not fulfil a predetermined condition, and transmitting to a network unit maintaining information on subscriber information of users of the network a message on the basis of determination, the message indicating the access point name or data network name of the user terminal is to be deactivated or the data connection of the access point name or data network name is to be directed to a predetermined server.
