INTEGRATED NASAL NERVE DETECTOR ABLATION-APPARATUS, NASAL NERVE LOCATOR, AND METHODS OF USE
Systems and related methods for identifying and/or ablating targeted nerves are provided. A probe with stimulating electrodes and/or ablation members are provided. The probe may be inserted into a nasal cavity and current may be introduced through the electrodes to stimulate a targeted area. The response to stimulation may be used to identify the targeted nerve. Once identified, the ablation member may ablate the targeted nerve.
Apparatus and methods to modulate bladder function
Apparatus and methods are provided to concentrate energy delivery in non-superficial target tissue within a trigone region of a human bladder wall to modulate bladder function.
MEDICAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Tissue is resected and extracted from an interior location in a patient’s body using a probe or tool which both effects resection and causes vaporization of a liquid or other fluid to propel the resected tissue through an extraction lumen of the resecting device. Resection is achieved using an electrosurgical electrode assembly including a first electrode on a resecting member and a second electrode within a resection probe or tool. Over a first resecting portion, radio frequency current helps resect the tissue and over a second or over transition region, the RF current initiates vaporization of the fluid or other liquid to propel the tissue from the resection device. In one embodiment, an extending element extends from a housing and into a channel in a resecting member as the resecting member moves toward a distal position.
TISSUE EXTRACTION DEVICES AND METHODS
The tissue cutting device comprises an elongated assembly including both an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve. The outer sleeve has a tissue-receiving window, and the inner sleeve has a distal end which cuts tissue as the inner sleeve is advanced past the window. The tissue is received into a lumen of the inner sleeve, and the inner sleeve lumen is typically enlarged in a proximal direction to reduce the tendency of resected tissue to lodge therein. The tissue displacement member is optionally provided at a distal end of the outer sleeve to further aid in dislodging tissue which becomes captured in a distal end of the inner sleeve of the lumen.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THERAPEUTIC NASAL NEUROMODULATION
The invention generally relates to systems and methods for therapeutically modulating nerves in or associated with a nasal region of a patient for the treatment of a rhinosinusitis condition.
Integrity testing of storage tank structure using robotic ultrasound
Systems and methods are provided for non-destructive inspection of an interior of a vessel filled with a liquid.
Medical probe with wiring disposed between two expandable membranes
Shown and described is electrophysiology catheter end effector having a balloon with three expandable membranes attached to each other such that wiring (for the electrodes or other sensors on the membrane surfaces) no longer extend from inside the first membrane yet at the same time is captured between the first membrane and a second membrane.
Medical device
Provided is a medical device comprising an inner tubular member, an outer tubular member having a distal end and an open window disposed at the distal end, a first electrode and/or a second electrode disposed at the distal end of the outer tubular member, and a cannulated plunger or armature or shaft configured to drive the inner tubular member to cut tissue in cooperation with the open window of the outer tubular member. The first electrode and the second electrode may be configured to provide RF energy needed for a surgical operation and may be configured to be substantially symmetrical or asymmetrical along a longitudinal axis of the outer tubular member.
CAVITARY TISSUE ABLATION
The invention relates to a tissue ablation system including an ablation device having a deployable applicator, preferably, with a non-spherical head configured to be delivered to a tissue cavity and ablate marginal tissue surrounding the tissue cavity. The deployable applicator head is configured to be delivered to a tissue cavity while in a collapsed configuration and ablate marginal tissue surrounding the tissue cavity while in an expanded configuration.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR URETHAL TREATMENT
A device and a method for treatment of a urethra that is constricted due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) are provided, including a delivery tool (101) advanced to a location in an area of the urethra that is to be treated. The delivery tool (101) includes an expandable element (400) that expands within the urethra such as to enlarge the urethra, a tissue cutter (412) that forms a cut in the urethra, subsequently to the expandable element expanding to dilate the urethra, and an implant (410) that maintain the urethra in a dilated state. The implant (410) includes a shape-memory material and is shaped to define two end sections and a middle section (1202) disposed between the two end sections. The shape memory-material is shape set such that in an unconstrained configuration of the implant (410), the middle section (1202) is substantially straight. Other embodiments are also described.
