ORIENTATION OF USER- INPUT DEVICES FOR CONTROLLING SURGICAL ARMS
20230000579 · 2023-01-05 ·

A surgical system comprises an articulated mechanical arm comprising arm segments connected serially by arm joints that flex and rotate, and first and second input-devices. The second input-device comprises a handle configurable to be oriented in any orientation in an x-y-z space, and the handle comprises segment members and joint members corresponding to the arm segments and arm joints of the arm. The arm joints can be actuatable by, and have the same degrees of freedom as, the handle joint member. A method of using the surgical system includes retroflecting the arm, transitioning control of the arm from the first input device to the second input device, and performing a surgical action, during which a displacement vector or a reorientation arc of the handle member through the x-y-z space is translated to a corresponding displacement vector or corresponding reorientation arc of the end effector in the same x-y-z space.

Fundus bumper mechanical reference for easier mechanism deployment
11712292 · 2023-08-01 · ·

Intrauterine devices and methods for facilitating deployment thereof using a bumper are disclosed. In one embodiment, an intrauterine device comprises a structure including a first central support member and a deployment mechanism coupled to the first central support member. The intrauterine device further comprises a bumper positioned at a distal end of a second central support member and at a more distal position relative to a distal end of the structure so as to prevent the distal end of the structure from contacting the fundus of the uterus of a patient during deployment of the deployment mechanism. In another embodiment, the intrauterine device comprises a bumper coupled to the deployment mechanism and configured to move from a more distal to a more proximal position relative to a distal end of the structure.

Device for the Enucleation of Intracorporeal Tissue Regions
20230022232 · 2023-01-26 ·

The invention is a device for the enucleation of intracorporeal tissue regions, in particular of the prostate, with a probe at whose distal end at least one freely accessible electrode body is mounted to which electrical energy can be applied via at least one electrical line running in the longitudinal extent of the probe. The electrode body has a dome-shaped electrode surface and has cross-sectional surfaces which are orientated orthogonally to the longitudinal extent of the probe surface areas along a first axial portion which contains a distal dome end of the electrode body, which increase continuously as the distance from the distal dome end increases.

Systems and methods for therapeutic nasal neuromodulation

FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHODS
20230218816 · 2023-07-13 · ·

A hysteroscopic fluid management system includes a saline source with an electrolyte concentration, at least one pressure mechanism for circulating saline to and from a targeted site and through a filter having filter characteristics back to the source, and a controller. The controller provides a saline inflow in a first flow path to the site and a saline outflow in a second flow path from the site through the filter and back to the source at a controlled flow rate. A diagnostic or therapeutic procedure is performed at the site in the presence of the saline. The filter characteristics and the controlled flow rate are selected to (1) cause substantially no change in the electrolyte concentration in the saline, (2) to prevent hemolysis of greater than 5% of filtered red blood cells exposed to the saline, and/or (3) to minimize effect on prothrombin time of plasma exposed to the filter.

APPARATUS AND COSMETIC METHOD FOR BODY ORIFICE REMODELING
20230210587 · 2023-07-06 ·

A body orifice remodeling device includes a cylindrical handpiece having a defined length which is adapted to be inserted into the body orifice and an elongated monopolar electrode mounted outside on the circumference of the cylindrical handpiece and extending substantially along the length of the handpiece. A source of radio frequency (RF) energy in the handpiece is configured to generate RF energy to the elongated monopolar electrode; and a source of electromagnetic stimulation energy (EMagS) in the handpiece is configured to generate (EMagS) energy.

SURGICAL PROBE WITH INDEPENDENT ENERGY SOURCES

An energy source is offset from an elongate probe axis with an extension. The amount of offset of the energy source can be controlled by varying an amount of offset of the extension. The energy source rotated and translated at the offset distance to resect tissue. In some embodiments, the probe is configured to receive a second treatment probe comprising a second energy source, in which the second energy source is rotated and translated relative to the first treatment probe, which can improve positional accuracy and stability. The energy source and the extension can be coupled to a linkage to offset the energy source, and to translate and rotate the energy source with varying amounts of offset. The linkage can be coupled to a processor and one or more of the energy source moved in accordance with a treatment profile.
