11419672 · 2022-08-23 · ·

The disclosed embodiments relate to an electrosurgical system, to a method for operating an electrosurgical system, and to an electrode for an electric surgical system. An image detection system of the surgical instrument detects an image of the electrode. The corresponding image data is compared with data sets in a database, in which an identifying feature of the electrode and at least one operating parameter for the electrode are assigned to each other. After the electrode type has been identified, the corresponding operating parameters are transmitted to a controller of the surgical instrument.

Endoscopic full thickness resection device

The present disclosure relates generally to devices and methods for full thickness tissue resection of an organ (e.g., intestine). In some embodiments, a device includes a conduit, and a plurality of arms rotatably coupled to the conduit. Each of the plurality of arms is movable between a collapsed position and an expanded position, wherein the plurality of arms extends radially outward from the conduit in the expanded position. The device may further include an electrocautery wire coupled to each of the plurality of arms, the electrocautery wire positioned directly adjacent an exterior tissue wall when the plurality of arms is in the expanded position. The device may be advanced back in towards a lumen of the organ until a targeted section of tissue is cut by the electrocautery wire and removed.

Surgical device and methods

A tissue resecting or other medical device includes a handle coupled to an elongated shaft. A radiofrequency (RF) electrode is carried at a distal end of the elongated shaft, and the electrode is moveable across a window in a sleeve or other component of the shaft. The shaft has an interior channel connectable to a negative pressure source to remove debris from the channel. A motor is carried by the handle and operatively coupled to the electrode for moving the electrode relative to the window. An electronic image sensor and lens are disposed at a distal end of the shaft, and a plurality of conductors may extend through the shaft to the image sensor. The image sensor, lens and sensor conductors are disposed within a first tubular member, and an LED or other light source is also positioned at a distal end of the shaft with LED conductors or leads extending through a second tubular member of the shaft to the LED.

A surgical tool can include a shaft, a pin, an end effector, and a translating member. The shaft can define a longitudinal axis. The pin can be located at a distal portion of the shaft. The end effector can be connected to the shaft. The translating member can be positioned laterally inward of the shaft. The translating member can include a track and the pin can extend into the track to limit translation of the translating member along the longitudinal axis with respect to the end effector.

Forceps with two-part drive bar

A forceps having a first jaw and a second jaw, where at least one of the first and second jaws is capable of moving between an open position and a closed positions. The forceps including an inner shaft located within an outer shaft and extending along the longitudinal axis, and a drive bar coupled to and extending distally from the inner shaft. The drive bar including a pair of drive bar struts extending from a distal portion of the inner shaft and positioned laterally inward of at least one of first and second set of flanges of the first and second jaws. A drive pin is securable to the pair of drive bar struts and the drive bar is translatable within the outer shaft to translate the drive pin to move the first jaw and/or the second jaw between open and closed positions.

ELECTRODE INSTRUMENT FOR A RESECTOSCOPE, AND RESECTOSCOPE

Radiofrequency instruments such as the resectoscope described here are used in medicine for treating body tissue and in particular for removing or manipulating this tissue. A particular disadvantage of the known instruments is that an irrigation liquid is disturbed by an electrode instrument in such a way that the resulting turbulence limits the view of the operator. The invention makes available an electrode instrument by which this problem is solved. This is achieved by the fact that two electrode casing tubes run from an electrode to the proximal end region of the electrode instrument and each have a respective electrical contact, namely an active contact and a return contact.

IMAGING APPARATUS FOR ENDOSCOPE AND IMAGING SYSTEM

An imaging apparatus for endoscope includes: a coupler; an exterior casing connected to the coupler and extending along a first axis crossing an optical axis of an endoscope, the exterior casing having outer dimensions in a direction along the first axis greater than outer dimensions in a direction along the optical axis of the endoscope; an optical system; and an imaging unit. The exterior casing includes a first exterior part, a second exterior part, and a connector part. The optical system and the imaging unit are housed, in the exterior casing, side by side on the optical axis of the endoscope such that light of an image of a subject guided by the optical system is captured by the imaging unit.

A device for carrying out arthroscopic operations on the knee joints. The device includes handle, a proximal axial rotation control, and a distal linear movement control, a drainage tube and a power cable are connected to the proximal end, and extending from the distal end is an inner tube having an opening into which an electrode loop is inserted, and further having an aspiration opening oriented into a drainage channel.

ELECTROSURGICAL HANDHELD DEVICE, AND CONTACT BODY FOR AN ELECTROSURGICAL HANDHELD DEVICE

An electrosurgical handheld devices, and contact bodies of electrosurgical handheld devices, prove very difficult to clean. Cleaning them is very laborious, particularly when they have bores and receptacles of small diameters. Even mechanical cleaning cannot guarantee that the necessary degree of cleaning is achieved. The invention makes available an electrosurgical handheld device and a contact body that can be cleaned particularly easily and thoroughly and in a time-efficient manner. This is achieved by the fact that the contact body for an electrosurgical handheld device has at least one receptacle that is designed as a continuous bore through the contact body.

RESECTOSCOPE, ELECTRODE INSTRUMENT FOR A RESECTOSCOPE, AND GUIDE ELEMENT FOR AN ELECTRODE INSTRUMENT

A surgical radiofrequency instruments such as resectoscopes, for example, are used for removing or manipulating body tissue. A particular disadvantage of known instruments has been that the arrangement of an electrode instrument in an inner shaft can influence a flow behavior of an irrigation liquid. The invention makes available an electrode instrument by which the irrigation liquid is not disturbed. This is achieved by the fact that an electrode instrument has two electrode carriers which are arranged parallel to each other and are connected to each other by at least one guide element, and this at least one guide element extends, at least in part, convexly away from a longitudinal axis.
