Communication method and device

A communication method used by a first device that communicates with a second device is provided. The method includes detecting an occurrence of a predetermined event related to a device scan, scanning the second device that provides identifier information and capability information, establishing a first communication link with the scanned second device by using a first communication method, determining a second communication method for communicating data with the second device via the first communication link, and establishing a second communication link with the second device by using the determined second communication method.

SECURE FILE SHARING OVER MULTIPLE SECURITY DOMAINS AND DISPERSED COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

System and method of obtaining data in a system in which share volumes of the data are dispersed across a communication network. A first computer requesting the data forwards the request to a second computer. The second computer determines if another computer has reassembled the data, and if so, responds to the first computer that the request cannot be granted. Otherwise, the second computer enables the first computer to access personal information associated only with a user of the first computer that authorizes the user to access the data. The personal information is used to determine reassembly information necessary to reassemble the data. The reassembly information is used to reassemble the data. The personal information may then be destroyed. The reassembled data is dispersed across the communication network. New personal information is created for the user.

OPTICAL ACCESSORY FOR ATTACHMENT TO MOBILE DEVICE

An attachment for use with a mobile device with an imaging device and a mobile-device light source can include one or more of an attachment base and an attachment body. The attachment base can be configured to secure the attachment body to the mobile device via a case for the mobile device. The attachment body can include at least one optical device for use with the imaging device, and an optical sensor to receive optical control signals from the mobile-device light source.

SYSTEM FOR DEVICE ADDITION OR REPLACEMENT THAT USES A CODE SCAN

A building management system, such as a small or medium business, having one or more control devices. Assigning codes to devices, and reading and listing them may aid in configuring the devices. Templates may be used for dynamic configuration of devices and equipment. Representing terminal assignments and wiring diagrams of control devices may be intuitive in that they resemble real hardware for ease of complete installation. The present system and approach may provide an intuitive way of securely registering devices with cloud usage, for example, involving a mobile phone with no manual entry of data so that a user can complete this process with ease. An intuitive, automatic and asynchronous device configuration downloading may be seen, such as to multiple control devices in a single shot. There may be seamless configuration data synchronization, for example, in view of replacement devices, or so the latest data is readily available.

INTERIM CONNECTIONS FOR PROVIDING SECURE COMMUNICATION OF CONTENT BETWEEN DEVICES

The present disclosure provides a system that controls an interim connection between two computing devices. The system first determines if a person if physically present at the host device by detecting an interaction with an input device attached to the host device. In response to the input, the system generates a connection identifier that is displayed at the host device. The display of a graphical element for communicating the connection identifier enables the guest device to receive the connection identifier. The graphical element can be a Quick Response (QR) code, bar code, text, etc. The guest device can send a connection request to the server using the connection identifier. In response to the request, the server verifies the connection identifier and establishes a data connection between the host device and the guest device. Data can be exchanged between the host device and the guest device via the server.

USER INTERFACE PROCESS FLOW FOR POSTING CONTENT ON A DISPLAY DEVICE

The present disclosure provides a user interface process flow for posting content on a display device. The disclosed techniques include a user interface process that initiates a connection that enables a host device to receive content from a guest device in a secure and discrete manner. The host device utilizes one or more graphical elements to invoke a user input at the host device to verify that the user is physically present at the host device. In response to the user input, a server generates a connection identifier that is communicated to, and displayed at, the host device. The connection identifier and an address of a server are displayed at, or otherwise communicated from, the host device to a guest device. The guest device uses the connection identifier to establish a connection with the host device for delivery of content from the guest device for display on the host device.

Image module including mounting and decoder for mobile devices

This invention provides a module/base assembly for a handheld device. The module includes an imager with optics and image acquisition/processing processors that provide high speed acquisition and handling of acquired image data. The acquired image data is processed by the device processor using a module application that resides within the device. A removable retaining component mounts within the base. The base houses a battery and charging assembly e.g. an inductive charging unit. The inductive charging unit can be adapted to pass data, in addition to power, between the inductive coils and the charging unit can be interconnected to a data network with attached devices that employ data from the module. The base can charge the device via a connector and/or wireless charging arrangement. Data communication between the base and mobile device can occur using an RF link, e.g. an integrated Bluetooth® functionality.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONFIGURING AN ID READER USING A MOBILE DEVICE

A system and method for communicating at least one of updated configuration information and hardware setup recommendations to a user of an ID decoding vision system is provided. An image of an object containing one or more IDs is acquired with a mobile device. The ID associated with the object is decoded to derive information. Physical dimensions of the ID associated with the object are determined. Based on the information and the dimensions, configuration data can be transmitted to a remote server that automatically determines setup information for the vision system based upon the configuration data. The remote server thereby transmits at least one of (a) updated configuration information to the vision system and (b) hardware setup recommendations to a user of the vision system based upon the configuration data.

SYSTEM FOR SENSING VITAL SIGNS ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLES

The present invention protects a system for monitoring the vital signs of a user of a disposable absorbent article that comprises a sensor device, a bi-dimensional code and a receiver, such that the sensor device is placed in contact with the user and the system is triggered by the reading of the bi-dimensional code through the receiver, such that the bi-dimensional code is place inside the packaging of the disposable absorbent article.
