Device, method, and graphical user interface for updating a background for home and wake screen user interfaces
A method includes: while displaying a wake screen with a first media item as a background and foreground objects displayed over the first media item, detecting first user input that corresponds to a request to display a media gallery; in response to detecting the first user input, ceasing display of the foreground objects; detecting a second user input that corresponds to a request to navigate through media items in the media gallery; in response to detecting the second user input, replacing the first media item with a second media item in the media gallery; detecting a third input that corresponds to a request to dismiss the media gallery; and, in response to detecting the third user input, redisplaying the foreground objects on the display device over a media item from the media gallery that is selected as the background for the wake screen.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISCOURAGING INAPPROPRIATE USE OF A MOBILE DEVICE
A system and method for discouraging the in appropriate use of a mobile device including registering a mobile device with a monitoring application running on a system coupled with a network. A mobile device is linked with the monitoring application through the network. The operational status of the mobile device is monitored to detect if a change occurs in the operational status. A change in the operational status of the mobile device is reported to the monitoring program with time information and the status change is displayed in a graphical interface, and a notification message is sent to a system user. Beacons might also be implemented to advise a device user to disable a mobile device to be monitored.
Emergency messaging from a locked mobile device
The disclosed system provides a facility to enable an emergency messaging session on a locked mobile device. In response to receiving a request on a locked mobile device to initiate an emergency messaging session, the disclosed system displays an interface that may enable a user of the mobile device to select a type of emergency and/or enter a customized message to be transmitted to an emergency services provider. The displayed interface additionally may include options to automatically or manually send specified types of information to an emergency responder, such as a physical location of the mobile device or medical, personal contact, or residence information of the user of the mobile device. While an emergency messaging session is in progress, the disclosed system may continually send updated information to the selected emergency provider, such as a location of the mobile device or biometric information associated with a user of the mobile device.
Method and apparatus for modifying interaction with a mobile-device
Interaction with a handheld device is modified based upon the speed at which the handheld device is traveling, for example while being held in a passenger vehicle. If the handheld device appears to be moving faster than a pre-established threshold, a lockout flag indicates that interaction with the user must be modified. Then, the lockout flag is cleared only when the handheld device is held off at an angle and the user focuses gaze upon the display for a minimum amount of time. Once the lockout flag is cleared, interaction with the user returns to a normal state.
Method and system for communication
Provided is a computer implemented method and system for delivering text messages, emails, and messages from a messenger application to a user while the user is engaged in an activity, such as driving, exercising, or working. Typically, the emails and other messages are announced to the user and read aloud without any user input. In Drive Mode, while the user is driving, a clean interface is shown to the user, and the user can hear announcements and messages/emails aloud without looking at the screen of the phone, and use gestures to operate the phone. After a determination is made that a new text message and/or email has arrived, the user is informed aloud of the text message/email/messenger message and in most instances, and if the user takes no further action, the body and/or subject of the text message/email/messenger message is read aloud to the user. All messages can be placed in a single queue, and read to the user in order of receipt.
EFFICIENT DIRECT STORE DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
Provided is an improved direct store delivery (DSD) system for providing customized information to a user. The DSD system includes a device that receives a first voice command from the user and determines a current location of the user. The first voice command is then transformed into a first text request based on a conversion of the points in speech to points in data. Further, the first text request is processed to determine a first set of information, based on a current location of the device, to be provided audibly to the user. The first set of information is transmitted to the user through speech. The device further receives a second voice command from the user to interact with the first set of information. The second voice command is processed to determine a final set of information, and the final set of information is visually displayed to the user in an instance in which the user has arrived at a desired location.
Terminal equipment control method, terminal equipment and system, computer storage media
At least one embodiment of the disclosure discloses a terminal device control method, terminal device, a system and a computer storage medium. The method includes: control strategies for the terminal device and information on current scenario where the terminal device is located are acquired; control information used in controlling the terminal device, is acquired according to the control strategies for the terminal device and the information on the scenario; and the terminal device is controlled according to the control information.
Mobile device having a touch-lock state and method for operating the mobile device
A mobile device with a touch panel and a touch-lock operating method thereof are provided. The mobile device preferably includes an RF communication unit for supporting communication services; a touch panel for sensing input touches; a display unit for displaying a screen, where the screen includes at least one of a preset image, text, and map; and a controller for setting a touch-lock in the touch panel according to a preset condition. The controller also controls the display unit to display at least one of a text and image or at least one particular icon corresponding to the information reception event that occurs, based on the RF communication unit, in the touch-lock state. A portion of the display screen can be locked, or only certain predetermined touch functions permitted.
Applications, methods, and systems for preventing a mobile device user from operating functions of a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle
A computer application for preventing a mobile device user from operating a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle. The computer application determines pertinent mobile devices within the motor vehicle. The application provides a user interface to each of the pertinent mobile devices for selecting a motor vehicle operator device. The application causes all pertinent mobile devices to move into a locked configuration if a motor vehicle operator device is not identified and causes non-operator devices to move into the unlocked configuration if a motor vehicle operator device is identified. The computer application causes the motor vehicle operator device to remain in the locked configuration if the motor vehicle is moving and causes the motor vehicle operator device to move into an unlocked configuration if the motor vehicle is not moving, or if the motor vehicle operator device is no longer one of the pertinent mobile devices.
Wireless device security system
A device in a wireless device security system may include at least one processor configured to determine a location of the device with respect to a security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide an alert output when the determined location of the device is proximate to a boundary of the security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to prevent the device from responding to at least some user input when the determined location of the device is outside of the security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide a disturbance output when the determined location of the device is outside of the security area.
