CONTEXT-AWARE MOBILE DEVICE MANAGEMENT
Technologies disclosed herein are directed to context-based mobile device management. According to one embodiment, an application executing in a mobile device detects an event to trigger context-based management of the mobile device. A usage context associated with the mobile device is determined. One or more policies to enforce on the mobile device are identified as a function of the usage context. The application enforces the one or more policies on the mobile device.
Biometrics to launch a camera application
In example implementations, a method to launch a camera application from a mobile device is provided. The method includes receiving a biometric of a user. The orientation of the mobile device may also be detected. In response to the biometric and detecting that the mobile device is in a landscape orientation, the camera application is launched and the camera on the mobile device is activated.
Wireless device security system
A device in a wireless device security system may include at least one processor configured to determine a location of the device with respect to a security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide an alert output when the determined location of the device is proximate to a boundary of the security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to prevent the device from responding to at least some user input when the determined location of the device is outside of the security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide a disturbance output when the determined location of the device is outside of the security area.
ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY APPLICATIONS AND APPARATUS
A method for applying an always-on interface includes: displaying a first always-on interface, wherein the first always-on interface is an interface displayed when a terminal is in the always-on display state, and the first always-on interface includes a target control which is used to call out a target function item; receiving a first selection operation on the target control; and displaying an intermediate state interface according to the first selection operation, and the intermediate state interface is an interface displayed when the terminal is in the half always-on display state.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A method for controlling an electronic device includes: responsive to that a starting operation over a controlled electronic device is detected, a target electronic device at a distance that is within a preset distance away from the controlled electronic device is determined; a working mode of the target electronic device is determined; and responsive to that the working mode of the target electronic device is matched with a first preset working mode, a working mode of the controlled electronic device is adjusted to a second preset working mode to avoid interference from the controlled electronic device to use of the target electronic device.
Terminal Screen-On/Off Control Method and Apparatus, and Terminal
Embodiments of this application provide a terminal screen-on/off control method and apparatus and a terminal. The method includes: receiving an operation instruction that is sent by a user by using a first terminal: if the operation instruction meets a preset condition, determining a current state of a screen of a second terminal, and if the current state of the screen is on, controlling the second terminal to turn off the screen; or if the current state of the screen is off, controlling the second terminal to turn on the screen. The preset condition is used to determine whether the second terminal is to turn the screen on/off. The first terminal can be directly used to control the second terminal to turn the screen on/off. This operation is very simple.
PORTABLE TERMINAL DEVICE
A portable terminal device (1) sets a security level for each application in accordance with position, and stores the level in a memory (102). The security level determines whether each application is displayed or made executable on a display portion (114a) in locked state and unlocked state. A control unit (101) refers to the security level and determines the application displayed on the display portion (114a) in accordance with position information acquired by a position information acquisition unit (GPS reception unit) (104), and makes executable the application selected by the user. Thus, the portable terminal device (1) offers user-friendliness while ensuring security strength.
Emergency messaging from a locked mobile device
The disclosed system provides a facility to enable an emergency messaging session on a locked mobile device. In response to receiving a request on a locked mobile device to initiate an emergency messaging session, the system displays an interface that may enable a user of the mobile device to select a type of emergency and/or enter a customized message to be transmitted to an emergency services provider. The displayed interface additionally may include options to automatically or manually send specified types of information to an emergency responder, such as a physical location of the mobile device or medical, personal contact, or residence information of the user of the mobile device. While an emergency messaging session is in progress, the disclosed system may continually send updated information to the selected emergency provider, such as a location of the mobile device or biometric information associated with a user of the mobile device.
