Systems and methods for optimizing message notification based on geographic location and time
Systems and methods are provided for optimizing delivery of messages to mobile device users, the method comprising receiving a message to be sent to a client application executable at a mobile device of a user, along with an associated time constraint and an associated geographic constraint; determining a current time at the mobile device and a current geographic location of the mobile device via a communication network; determining, upon receiving the current geographic location of the mobile device and the current time of the mobile device, whether the current geographic location of the mobile device complies with the associated geographic constraint for the message to be sent to the client application and determining whether the current time of the mobile device complies with the associated time constraint for the message to be sent to the client application; and sending, when the current geographic location of the mobile device is determined to comply with the associated geographic constraint and when the current time of the mobile device is determined to comply with the associated time constraint, the message for display to the user at the mobile device via a message notification interface of an operating system of the mobile device.
Emotion detection in voicemail
Methods and apparatus for processing a voicemail message to generate a textual representation of at least a portion of the voicemail message. At least one emotion expressed in the voicemail message is determined by applying at least one emotion classifier to the voicemail message and/or the textual representation. An indication of the determined at least one emotion is provided in a manner associated with the textual representation of the at least a portion of the voicemail message.
Communication streams
Embodiments described herein organize and percolate important messaging and information to the top of a communications pile, and create a high ratio of front-and-center communication versus chatter communication. This is analogous to creating a high signal-to-noise ratio in signal communications. Thus, embodiments described herein raise the desired signal level high above the noise level to obtain a visual at-a-glance level of communication with reduced clutter or no clutter.

Connection specific selection of automated response messages
Software and computer processor implemented system and method of providing customized automated responses to different types of incoming electronic messages from various contact sources, particularly useful for preventing distracted driving or distractions at a place of work or at a place of rest and relaxation. Here the invention's software, often in the form of an app, runs on a smartphone or other computerized device configured to automatically connect to various devices, such as automobile associated Bluetooth peripherals or WiFi access points/routers. When operating, the app causes active connections to automatically trigger auto response mode in response to incoming messages. Optionally, different automated responses to be assigned to different connected device identification codes or different incoming message originators. Various prioritization schemes, such as last active connection dominates, and various ways in which different contact specific automated responses may interact with various device specific automated responses, are also discussed.

A method and apparatus for delivering a message. A plurality of audio messages destined for a recipient is received from a corresponding plurality of senders. Each of the plurality of audio messages includes a corresponding first sender designated priority designated by the corresponding sender. Member configuration data that identifies a first recipient prioritization attribute is accessed. A prioritized list of the plurality of audio messages is generated based on both the corresponding first sender designated priority and the first recipient prioritization attribute associated with the each of the plurality of audio messages. A subset of the plurality of audio messages is provided to a client device associated with the recipient based on the prioritized list.
Method and apparatus for managing telephone calls
A system and method for managing telephone calls is disclosed. The system includes a central controller that receives and processes telephone calls. The identity of a caller is first determined. Based on predetermined settings designated by an end user, a call is directed to one or more telephones of the end user. Preferably, the end user's telephones ring simultaneously. The user may answer any of his/her telephones and choose from among several options of how to handle the call. If the user chooses to answer the call, the call may be transferred to that telephone and the conversation may commence.
