Enhanced Image Capture

Disclosed are techniques that provide a best picture taken within a few seconds of the moment when a capture command is received (e.g., when the shutter button is pressed). In some situations, several still images are automatically (that is, without the user's input) captured. These images are compared to find a best image that is presented to the photographer for consideration. Video is also captured automatically and analyzed to see if there is an action scene or other motion content around the time of the capture command If the analysis reveals anything interesting, then the video clip is presented to the photographer. The video clip may be cropped to match the still-capture scene and to remove transitory parts. Higher-precision horizon detection may be provided based on motion analysis and on pixel-data analysis.

Method and Apparatus For Adjusting Scanning Status

Methods, systems, and devices for adjusting a scanning status are provided. In one example method, a mobile terminal can determine whether a target object is a preset target type. If so, a reference scan parameter is determined corresponding to the preset target type, and a real-time scan parameter is obtained that is used when the mobile terminal performs scanning around the target object. A determination is made as to whether the real-time scan parameter conforms to the reference scan parameter. If it does not, a prompt message used to prompt a user to adjust a scanning status corresponding to a current scan parameter is generated.

AUTOMATICALLY SELECTING IMAGES USING MULTICONTEXT AWARE RATINGS

The present disclosure is directed toward systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media that automatically select an image from a plurality of images based on the multi-context aware rating of the image. In particular, systems described herein can generate a plurality of probability context scores for an image. Moreover, the disclosed systems can generate a plurality of context-specific scores for an image. Utilizing each of the probability context scores and each of the corresponding context-specific scores for an image, the disclosed systems can generate a multi-context aware rating for the image. Thereafter, the disclosed systems can select an image from the plurality of images with the highest multi-context aware rating for delivery to the user. The disclosed system can utilize one or more neural networks to both generate the probability context scores for an image and to generate the context-specific scores for an image.

An image capturing apparatus, comprises an image sensor; a focus detection unit; a continuous shooting unit; an estimation unit that estimates an in-focus position of an object based on a result of the focus detection and information relating to an accumulation timing; and a focus adjustment unit that performs focus adjustment, wherein, the image sensor performs accumulation of the focus detection signal in a time period in which a storage unit cannot store the image signal for recording, the focus detection unit performs the focus detection, and the estimation unit estimates the in-focus position at the time of acquiring the image signal that is acquired after the end of the time period, based on the focus detection result and the information relating to the accumulation timing of the focus detection signal.

In a digital camera, burst continuous shooting of continuously capturing a predetermined number of images by an imaging section and retaining and updating them as required is performed. When an instruction to display a live view image is provided, a live view image is generated from frame images acquired by the burst continuous shooting, and transmitted to a remote control device. In the remote control device, when a shutter operation using a touch sensor or a mechanical shutter operation is performed by an operation section, a photographing request is transmitted to the digital camera. In the digital camera, when this request is accepted, whether a live view image has been transmitted is judged. When it has been transmitted, a frame image serving as a source of the live view image at the timing of the shutter operation is extracted, and stored in a recording medium as a processed image.

An image processing device includes: a processor including hardware. The processor is configured to: obtain images captured by an imaging element configured to perform imaging at a higher frequency than a vibrational frequency of a subject; detect the vibrational frequency of the subject based on the obtained images; set a selection period that is longer than a vibration period of the subject; sequentially select, from among the obtained images, images to be displayed on a display based on the selection period; and output the selected images.

A photographing method for use in a device includes: monitoring a current time and determining whether the current time reaches a preset shooting time; taking a first picture of an object when it is determined that the current time reaches the preset shooting time; determining a difference between a first image in a preset area of the first picture and a second image in the preset area of a second picture taken at a previous preset shooting time, the preset area corresponding to the object; and saving the first picture if the determined difference is equal to or greater than a preset threshold value.

Selection of a preferred image from multiple captured images

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for selection of a preferred image from multiple captured images. An image corresponding to a photograph time t=0 may be retrieved from a circular buffer and stored as a preferred image. Alternative images captures before and after the t=0 image may be retrieves and stored in an alternative image location. The t=0 image and preferred images may be presented to a user in a user interface. The user may select a preferred image for the photograph from among the t=0 image and the alternative images.
