Print calibration system and method
A print calibration system comprising a printing device to apply print material to a print target in a printing process, a memory for storing a lookup table; and a processor. The processor causes the printing device to print calibration points for reproducing a color ramp, by receiving a plurality of Neugebauer Primary area coverage (‘NPac’) points representing the plurality of calibration points and determining a hue angle and color space based on the NPac points. A plurality of nodes distributed between a first node and a second node of a sectional representation of the NPac points is determined. A lookup table is generated based on a relationship between the plurality of nodes and the NPac points for use during the printing process, wherein the lookup table comprises values to map between a first color space and a second color space, the lookup table is then provided to the printing device.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus includes: an acquisition unit configured to acquire a plurality of first color values in a device independent color space, from information defining a predetermined gamut; a setting unit configured to set predetermined first dot percentages of a fluorescent color for the plurality of first color values acquired by the acquisition unit; a calculation unit configured to calculate a second dot percentage of the fluorescent color, based on a relationship between the plurality of first color values and the first dot percentages, the second dot percentage corresponding to an arbitrary second color value in the color space; and a generation unit configured to generate a first profile to convert the second color value to dot percentages of a process color and the fluorescent color, based on the second color value and the second dot percentage calculated by the calculation unit.
Image processing apparatus configuring color conversion information based on how close input color values are to black in dark and light ranges
Color conversion information is used for carrying out a color conversion process to generate a converted image data. The color conversion information is configured as follows. Within a range from a predetermined first reference color value to a black input color value on a specific line, the closer to the black input color value a noticed input color value is, the larger a first output component value becomes. Within a first dark range, the closer to the black input color value the noticed input color value is, the smaller a second output component value becomes. Within a first light range, the closer to the black input color value the noticed input color value is, the larger the second output component value becomes. Within a first intermediate range, the second output component value is constant.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a head capable of discharging CMYK inks including a K ink, and a control unit configured to, based on image data to be printed, generate ink amount data for controlling an ink amount of each of the CMYK inks discharged by the head, and to control the head based on the ink amount data, wherein the control unit generates the ink amount data as ink amount data such that lightness of a composite color at least does not increase in a direction from a freely-selected coordinate point toward a black point, the composite color being formed by the CMY inks excluding the K ink based on ink amount data of each of the CMYK inks corresponding to a coordinate on a straight line from the freely-selected coordinate point toward the black point in a predetermined hue range of a color gamut of a color space of the image data.

IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus includes control circuitry. The control circuitry is configured to: acquire first image data to be subjected to color conversion; and convert the first image data acquired, into second image data in which a dot area ratio of a target process color of process colors indicated by the first image data is distributed into a distributed dot area ratio of a fluorescent color different from the target process color and a distributed dot area ratio of the target process color.
Color conversion table creation method, printing method, and color conversion method
A granularity check chart is printed and granularity is evaluated for each area representing a combination of a color value of blue and a color value of cyan and magenta. Thereafter, an unusable region regarding combinations of a color value of blue and a color value of cyan and magenta is determined on the basis of evaluation results. Then, corresponding relationships among a color value of cyan and magenta before spot color separation, a color value of blue after the spot color separation, and a color value of cyan and magenta after the spot color separation are determined so that each combination of a color value of blue and a color value of cyan and magenta after the spot color separation is not included in the unusable region, and a spot color separation LUT is created so that the corresponding relationships are satisfied.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a storage medium that execute density characteristics acquisition processing at an appropriate timing are provided.
CUBIFORM METHOD
A method performed by a module executing on a computing device. The method includes receiving a request to generate a new color lookup table (“C-LUT”). The request includes at least one parameter value indicating a parameter change input by a user. The request may also indicate a number of data-points in the new C-LUT. The method includes generating a new color value for each of the data-points based on the at least one parameter value. The module appends the new color value for each of the data-points to a data structure and generates the new C-LUT from the data structure. The new color lookup table is operable to replace a current color lookup table.
