A nail polish application apparatus, comprising a mounting element comprising a capsule compartment adapted to receive one or more capsules containing a nail polish fluid wherein the mounting element is moveable by actuator(s) in longitudinal axis crossing a nail polish applying space and in lateral axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and is rotatable by the actuator(s) around the longitudinal axis, a pressure applying element adapted to apply pressure on a body portion of the capsule(s) installed in the capsule compartment wherein the body portion defines a reservoir containing a nail polish fluid, the pressure builds an internal pressure in the reservoir forcing extrusion of the nail polish fluid to a nail polish applying element integrated with the capsule(s), sensor(s) adapted to generate sensory data depicting the nail polish applying space and a control unit adapted to operate the actuator(s) and the pressure according to analysis of the sensory data.

GENERATING AN AREA COVERAGE VECTOR

Certain examples described herein relate to generating a Neugebauer Primary area coverage (NPac) vector. In certain cases, an operating state of a printing system is determined. A first NPac vector is obtained, having an initial set of Neugebauer Primaries (NPs). The initial set of NPs comprise a NP that is not implementable with the operating state. A target set of NPs is determined on the basis of the operating state, the target set of NPs being implementable with the operating state. A second NPac vector is generated, the second NPac vector having the target set of NPs.

There are provided a printing system, a method of generating a halftone processing rule, a method of acquiring a characteristic parameter, image processing device and method, a halftone processing rule, a halftone image, a method of manufacturing a printed material, an ink jet printing system, and a program which are capable of reducing an operation load of a user and acquiring a halftone processing rule appropriate for the printing system. A characteristic parameter acquisition chart including a pattern for acquiring characteristic parameters related to characteristics of the printing system is output, and the output characteristic parameter acquisition chart is read by image reading means. The characteristic parameters are acquired by analyzing the read image of the characteristic parameter acquisition chart, and halftone processing rules that define the processing contents of halftone processes used in the printing system are generated based on the acquired characteristic parameters.

Method and printer system for determining adjusted output settings

A method of printing comprises executing an output settings calibration procedure, the procedure comprising: depositing, by one or more printing elements, ink onto a first substrate according to respective output settings. The procedure further comprises measuring, by a sensor, an actual color value of the ink deposited onto the first substrate at each of a plurality of locations. The procedure further comprises determining a difference between the actual color value and a target color value for each of the plurality of locations and determining adjusted respective output settings for each of the plurality of locations based on the determined difference. The method further comprises depositing, by the one or more printing elements, ink onto a second substrate according to the adjusted respective output settings.

Nail polish kit for use by an automated nail polish application apparatus

A kit for usage by a nail polish application apparatus, the kit comprising one or more nail polish capsules. Each of the nail polish capsule(s) comprises a body portion defining a reservoir containing a nail polish fluid and a non-screw detachable cover having an integrated nail polish applying element. The non-screw detachable cover is mechanically coupled to an upper face of the body portion to seal an opening in the upper face.

An image processing apparatus corrects a measured value obtained by measuring a measurement image formed using a printing element configured to discharge ink, the measured value being used to identify a density characteristic of the printing element. The image processing apparatus obtains a measured value; and corrects the measured value based on a density of the measurement image.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMPROVING THE PRINT IMAGE UNIFORMITY OF A PRINTED PRINT IMAGE

In a device and a method for improving the print image uniformity, at least one print image is printed by a printer with at least one print bar that has at least one print head with a plurality of print nozzles. An image detector having a plurality of dot/image detection regions detects at least one value profile of measured inking intensities. A comparator compares the value profile with at least one reference value, and generates correction values dependent thereon.

Predicting depleted printing device colorant from color fading

Pixel blocks of a user-generated print job raster page are clustered into raster color clusters, and pixel blocks of a corresponding scanned page are clustered into scanned color clusters. For each raster color cluster, if a color difference between the cluster and a corresponding scanned color cluster is greater than a threshold, color fading of the cluster is determined from simulated depletion of each colorant of a printing device, and a likely depleted colorant is determined based on the corresponding scanned color cluster and the determined color fading. A most likely depleted colorant is determined from the likely depleted colorant predicted for each raster color cluster for which the determined color difference is greater than the threshold.
